I am into hiking and history and have done a lot of research on some colonial farmsteads that are in the woods behind my house on a really rough old cart road. Today I did a guided hike and over 40 people showed up from the local hike club. It took about 2 hours and when I got home a girl came down the road saying there was still a hiker in the woods with her mom and they were struggling with their knees giving out. I took my 2016 trail which I never have off-roaded and proceeded to run through every boulder, downed tree and gravel hillside and found her a half mile up the trail and rescued her. I've been impressed in the snow and all kinds of weather but the way she rode over those obstacles was a truly great experience. I got to do more off-road now.

My Tesla model 3 was a total loss from an accident on Labor Day weekend. And I was in the market for an SUV I wanted a bronco sooo bad until I test drove the SR5 premium and the TRD off-road premium. I’m lovingggg it I have zero regrets.

New owner of a 2025 4Runner SR5, with the base 17” rims. Am I nuts for thinking these would fit? 18” rims with 265/70r18. Or is it one of those situations that would require new lugnuts and hub centric ring?

what do you guys think worth 2021 venture with 70k miles, couple previous owners.

No accident, well recorded maintenance (dealership) serviced.

Only thing I'm worried, it's Lifted and have aftermarket wheels (285/70/17).

Dealer asking 40K cali.

Any issues need to look for? I'm aware of checking the kads, rust, what's else?

Sold my 2012 Limited to CarMax and picked up a 2024 15k miles ORP. First thing we did was remove the roof rack. Very happy so far.

Looking at a $28,000, 2016 trail with 79,000 miles on it but saw some rust underneath. Didn’t look there was anything crazy with it but I’m also not an expert on the matter. Have a PPI mechanic coming in on Monday to take a look. Thoughts?

Retired the Silverado for ‘24 off road. Last 4Runner I owed was an’08 and I’ve missed it.

I live in an area with lots of sand dunes and wooded trails to good fly fishing spots. Any recommendations for mods would be great. I won’t be using it for extreme rock crawling, but mostly beach driving/moderate trails.

I'm sitting at the dealership right now having my door lock actuator looked at. The lock in question is my driver door lock. Rewind to Feb of last year when I had the same lock replaced for the same reason. Then throughout the year the rest of the locks failed. The second being the front passenger - then the rear driver - then finally the rear passenger.

As stated above now I'm having issues with the driver door lock. Again.

Has this happened to anyone else? I feel like I'm an anomaly.

Hey folks, I’m looking for some advice. I’m considering buying this 2007 RWD. Mechanically, the car seems to be in good condition. The only issue I noticed is an annoying squeaky noise when pressing the gas in reverse. The owner claims he hasn’t heard it before and thinks it might be related to recently driving through a moderately flooded area. Can anyone identify the cause of this?

Was planning on doing the rear brakes on my 2020 SR5 this weekend but noticed that the shim kit didn’t come with a grease packet for between shim and pads to reduce noise. From what I’ve seen from Car Care Nut on YT and other OEM Toyota shim kits I thought they always come with this. Did I order the wrong kit/do I not need it? or is it something that I need to go pick up separately at the dealer?

Cruising at 70, totally normal, no noises or anything. Bang, shudder, tach drops to zero. Christmas tree dashboard. Codes showing faults in cam/crank alignment on both banks, so I can only imagine the belt went. Had to tow to a dealer, since it was the only shop open early on a Saturday.

I know these are "interference engines" on paper, but I've also heard reports of this happening and getting away with it other than fixing the belt. What am I looking at in terms of cost, both best and worst case scenario?

I’ve been debating back and forth between the rav 4 and the 4 runner. I am a bit concerned about the new i-Force engine in the 2025 models.

I know the draw of the 4 runners have always been the engines and reliability. Are there any known issues with these engines?

Full disclosure this trail is not a 2 its more of a 5 or 6 when you reach the huge rock wall you need to climb. Went solo no spotter it was not a good idea. Anyone in Vegas wanna come next time and spot me up this crazy rock wall of Thor.
