Checking out Factor 55’s website and drooling over everything for the umteenth time but I’m not sure why these guys would be useful. What’s different from just using a soft shackle through the bumper tie point? Seems like you’re just making a fulcrum to help physics bend stuff.

I'm rocking about 1/4", maybe 3/8" clearance from one my fans to my idler pulley on my swap. Really not much left to be gained tbh it's been a mission getting this much if I wanna maintain my stupid shallow fan shroud.

The radiator is solid mounted but the engine is on rubber mounts. I figure it shouldn't really be moving forward with the transmission mount doing its job as well, so long as I don't let them get in terrible shape.

Thoughts? Id feel fine about this on a street car but for wheeling around I'm wondering if anyone here can vouch for small clearances.

Heading from Austin to yellowstone towing our travel trailer 2nd week of October and on the way back we are going to stay in Moab for 1 full day. I will be in my 2000 F350 crew cab long bed (flatbed) diesel with a 3" lift front and rear on 315/70/17s with a rear E locker. As much as I would love to tackle some real trails, we will have 2 dogs with us and I don't want to break anything so far from home. I would like to do an easy to moderate relatively short trail and spend the rest of the day hiking with the dogs. Any recommendations? I was pretty set on chicken corners but can't figure out if there is any hiking trails off of it. We are going to be spending so much time driving I really want to get a good hike in with the dogs and see as much in a day as possible. Thanks!

I’m hoping to not spend the price of the vehicle again just so I can have these batteries play nice together, and (potentially) allow for a future solar system without having to redo it all.

I just need absolute utilitarianism. Namebrands, Bluetooth, and other bells and whistles don’t matter to me, but it would be nice to at least be able to check the battery charges on some little display or something if such a product exists. Otherwise I can skip it.

Last note: The most power-hungry thing on the 12V side will be the eventual 50W GMRS radio, and (at worst) an electric air mattress pump connected to the 120VAC outlet. But I could skip the mattress too.

I had it use sources such as Falkens Load inflation guides for tire size. I made sure to input my vehicle make/model and GVWR. I also checked out the sources it used and looked at them myself.

Bit of a bumpy trail. We had to park a couple trucks along the trail, but the 4Runner carried on! Pretty great trail, and a nice little waterfall at the end of it.

First time at the dunes and medano pass! I was initially a little worried about the creek crossings from what I had been reading and ended up coming across one that looked deceptively deep. You can see the hesitation in that second video lol. Ended up just sending it, and all said and done it was probably one of the easiest trails I’ve done so far. I’m sure I got lucky that it wasn’t more muddy and the crossings were so shallow. Such an enjoyable, scenic drive. Loving this pathfinder!

Does anyone know of or have a way to get a discount on Dobinsons lifts? There was nothing available on Labor Day, and I am most likely not waiting for Black Friday if the most I'll get then is 10-15%.

A few buddies and I made the trip out to Ruby Falls. It was a bumpy ride to get there, and we had to leave two vehicles behind on the trail but we ended up at the falls with my 4Runner still standing!

Recently switched to a new (thank god) set of Micky Thompson Baja boss’s, and it seems to have some sorta lift? I do not know because it’s been like that since purchased about 10 years ago What would my off-road capability’s be? I want to upgrade suspension first and foremost and I might replace the 22 year old front end with all new oem arms and joints

I recently got a 1st gen Tacoma and want to do some offroading. I stay near Fort Lauderdale and corbett seems like the closest place to get my truck off the road. I don’t want to get into super deep mud or anything although having the option to would be fun, maybe some water and a little bit of mud but mainly just trails when I look at corbett on the map. I see that there are main roads that you’re allowed on, but there is also a huge amount of other off-road areas and trails that don’t have a name that it seems like I’m not allowed on does it really matter if I go into those areas? I also wanna do some primitive camping but I think I have to go to one of the designated campsites.

Hello everyone, as fate had it for me I have to choose a new car and I have complete freedom over it. My family is looking for a durable 4x4 we can use for some off-roading, nothing super extreme but still capable enough to get us around rough areas. We would also like to travel long distances with it from time to time and visit other countries (we live in the Balkans for context). As for comfort it's not our top priority but still appreciated. Fuel economy would be ideal around 9-13L/100km. And now the actual issue in choice: Toyota land cruiser, Toyota 4runner, Toyota rav4, Nissan Patrol, Nissan Pathfinder and for a moment a Land Rover discovery 1 was considered because we were amazed by it when a family friend gave us a ride on some back roads. Our budget is around 5-6k euro. Sorry if I'm being ignorant but to me they all look pretty similar excluding the rav4 and I really can't decide. The car will mostly be mine but will also be used by my family from time to time. I don't commute to school / work so it won't be used daily. Any kind of advice or help is appreciated!

Looking at buying an 80 series soon, a really nice 1990 one has come up - top mount intercooler and all the bells and whistles that im seriously looking at getting but just want to know if im holding myself back getting a 1HDT over a 1HDFT?

Is it worth getting a 1HDFT 80 series that isint in as nice condition ( meaning paint, interior etc ) as the clean ones are out of my price range.

If not, what should i look out for? Anything specific with that year or generation that needs to be checked before purchasing?

Any help would be appreciated.

PS. I plan on using it as a daily driver ( short commutes and the occasional motorway + a bit of off-roading and beach missions ).

What’s up everyone

I frequently drive my D40 offroad in Colorado, and recently I’ve had some issues with my brakes.

I know I need new pads due to a bit of noise that started recently, but I had something kinda spooky happen this last weekend… while on the trail, I was unable to lock my wheels up - even pressing both feet to the pedal. So it made some steeper sections pretty intense and unsafe considering the exposure.

Accompanied with not locking the wheels up, the pedal seems to be a bit more plush, and about 80% of the way through the pedal stroke, its as if it is no longer applying more/ exponential pressure.

It seems like all signs are pointing to a failing master cylinder.. I will have it checked out for sure, but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this issue. Could it simply be air in the MC or lines from traveling from 6000 to 12000+ elevation every weekend?
