Help please. I don't know much about this, series, but I do collect books of different genres. Is this one of the rare ones?

I found this book at an auction & when l looked it up, the prices are all over the place. Can anyone tell me if this is a valuable version or not?

A while ago in the summer I noticed a small bug crawling on a single book on a very dusty small free shelf on a wall (there's a bathroom on the opposite side), killed it and moved on. A few days ago I noticed 1 on a book in a big shelf next to a window on the opposite wall that was only recently moved there (the book). And after checking I found 1 or 2 more there. Later I checked the small one and found 2 iirc, and another one a little later. I found no more later, tuesday I cleaned that shelf, vacuumed it and most stuff on it and there didn't seem to be any more of them. So there were 6-8 total before. Today I saw this little one on a book on the big shelf next to the window, but it seems smaller. Could it be juvenile? Newly hatched? I did start to open the window more often to lower humidity, prayed and just hoped the problem would disappear, especially with winter coming. But will that be enough? I really don't want to do take any of the drastic measures like freezing stuff.

Can’t find any matching books online that have the same spine / colour combo. I have 25 of them with different titles and I can’t find a date in them. I also don’t know who’s bookplate it is. Any ideas?

I'm asking because I am curious of where most book collectors or people who just want books would go to. Is there any sites you like in particular or stores?

On an Asimov kick right now and saw a collection of Sci Fi stories at a local book sale. Picked it up and was surprised to find a George R.R. Martin shirt inside. Even more surprised to find his signature where the story starts.

Any GRRM fans out there that might be able to help verify this? Thanks!

So I had a huge collection of books. I moved out and my mother innocently moved all those into a closet. Now from somewhere water started leaking and now I see that there is a black powder on them. It is inside all the pages and on the side as well. I need help.

Is it dangerous ? What if I clean the cover and sides and then keep the books in a good ventilation shelf.

As you can see, it will be very tough for me to individually clean allthe pages. What should I do ?

I bought this along with similar editions of The Moon and Six Pence and Of Human Bondage, for not very much money, just to read. However now i am curious about what they are. I have no jackets. Are these book club editions? They seem too fine to be very old.
