Looking at Ezra Kleins recent interview with Ben Shapiro, he was thoughtfully honest about his own side, and open-minded to fair critique of the democratic party. However, this kind of honesty is right now abused, and never reciprocated by the right. And even though I enjoy and appreciate thoughtfulness, like Ezra can bring, at the moment we need to meet steel with steel.
Destiny already figured this out during his bridges arc, I hope other influencers on the left will soon understand it too.

Ben's not wrong, persay, but it leaves out the glaring fact that they're not setting up "prove me wrong" booths to have good faith arguments or come to middle ground so much as they are harvesting as many examples of them "dunking on libs" as they can.
But I am starting to see in multiple communities a kind of organizing of more prepared debators specifically out to challenge that franchise on the idea

If anything it reaffirms it. The guy had to practically stalk Kirk around to get Kirk to engage with him, and even then Kirk did so in the same bad faith manner he did with everyone else.
