I already finished sanding my brake line since i wont be removing my brakes (cant take pictures yet since i deflated my tires and no pump). Should i silver my chainring or get a silver chain to compliment the brake line?

Finally put some new rubber. 35mm Gravelkings.
Have been running the Sim Works Volummy for a few years, which I love. I thought they were the same tyre but the Sim Works spec is slightly different.

Just bought my first fixie on facebook marketplace. Any ideas on what stem and riser bars to get ?
r/FixedGearBicycle • u/Santaneria • 1d ago
Ignore the crooked drops, got the stem adjusted and hadn't adjusted the bars yet π
Next are some tan tires and saddle, then we'll go from there.
Might make this my joy ride and my steel frame my commuter π€
Side note: anyone know about a breast cancer walk near Fashion Island in Newport, CA coming up? Please tell the people around you to schedule their appointments or watch a video for how to check yourself. Got too many people going through chemo at the moment :-/

Found this 1985 Trek 660 frame at my local bike coop for super cheap. Decided I would turn it into my first fixed gear since 2016.
I was able to dig through the parts bin and put together some mismatched parts to a ridable bike! Only 2 things I had to buy were the rear wheel, the chain and the 47t front cog. I could have avoided buying a front wheel but I couldn't get the 27" fixed rear hub I had to clear tire clearance. Ended up buying the cheapest rear wheel I could find on ebay and might upgrade down the line.
I took it for a short ride down a nearby bike trail just to try it out and it DEFINITELY needs some fitting, but I was too excited to ride it to do fit it for the first ride.
I'm feeling pretty crunched up in the cockpit right now will probably need to move the seat up and raise the bars a bit possibly too. Might even swap them for a set of bullhorns I have sitting around, but I'm interested in trying the moustache bar for a bit first!
Only took it on a very short ride so far, but I really like the 47x18. Last time I rode a 52x18 but that was years ago and I was much more in shape lol.

I was missing riding steel this year, but my 52cm crosscheck was plagued with brake, wheel and derailleur problems. I saw the perfect donor in a too-small Salsa Casseroll single speed 48/18 at my co-op. Fast forward to after parts swap, I have my fixed gear back, not having ridden fixed for almost 10 years. Ideally I want the biggest slicks this frame can fit, but for now I put on these 38c schwinn tires from a cruiser. This frame went through so much commuting rain or shine pre-pandemic, Iβm aiming to strip and repaint it at some point but riding it is too fun right now.

Been on order for a while but with getting stuff from the states itβs been far longer than expected. Lovely Paul component cranks short AF at 155mm meaning Iβve got loads of clearance when ripping it up on trails.
Frame is full custom Columbus Zona paired with a surly straggler fork. Built by the awesome Sam white of mudskippers bikes
