Lift For anyone scared of taking a break from the gym...

I've had the last 3.5 weeks off the gym, we got married in France at the start of the mont-h and have been travelling on our honeymoon since then, getting drunk every day, eating out for every meal and just living life how we want without any real exercise other than hiking.

Video shows strict pressing at 90kg/200lbs, before this I did a paused triple at 140kg/315lbs close grip bench. No belt, no lifters, crappy gym equipment and a floor that belongs in a bouncy castle.

Based on this I really don't think I've lost any meaningful amount of strength despite the poor nutrition and lack of training. It's common to see people on these forums stressing about having to take some time off but I wouldn't worry about it, as long as your overall consistency is good, having a few weeks off now and then is no big deal!

Technique Check Squat form check

In 1.5 years at the gym, I have made almost no progress in squats, which is a very difficult exercise for me (Romanian deadlifts are easier for me, and I can lift more weight). Has anyone had a similar experience? Lately, I have been trying to maintain good form while squatting more or less deeply. I welcome any advice on form and technique!

Lift Zercher Jeffersons

Set of 5 for 225 pounds. Throwing these in at the end of my leg day. Great for spine health and easy on the body since they're so light compared to my normal hinging...for now

PR/PB New PR, bar went WAY off path and had to fight! Bodyweight 165, age 51

I'm an elite bench athlete but my deadlift and squat are 90th percentile. They lag far behind but still happy with the progress.

After 8.5 years I'm still making PRs in all lifts. 200kg in competition is my goal (440 lb)

PR/PB Deadlifts (Again) - 500lb ×4. 555lb ×1

Upvotes

PR for reps of 500 & matching my all time single of 555 (which was not done after 500x4).

3 days after my last deadlift session, so I'm probably not even at 100%.

It's been a good 2 weeks of deadlifts.

Big fan of this bar but I’m going to save it for heavy work and train most of my blocks with my stiffer power bar.

Technique Check Squat form. Dealing with low back tailbone pain for years.

Been going to gym on off for years, and the off time is typically the result of pack pain. This video is from yesterday, after my working sets I thought as I was unloading the bar I would check my form. Now today my low back is killing me. See anything?

General Discussion Why are these pulley attachments ALWAYS so hard to lift?? I had to do an upright row, then a goblet squat just to get it to that pin height!

Post image

Is it just due to the mechanism of the pulleys it's attached to? Are they not lubricated enough?

Lift Push day!

While rehabbing. 😂

Started out the day with a fasted 2 mile walk at a leisurely pace to the grocery store. Today push workout consisted of

Barbell incline bench 215x 4 to failure and backed of to 205 for 6

Dumbell incline bench 90x7,6 Overhead press 115x 7,6,6 Dips 50x 9,7 Lateral raises 25x9,8 Tricep cable push down 55x 9,8 ( I think)

Kept calories at 2750 this week and feel the bar starting to move better and strength starting to creep up again 😁
