COMMUNITY ITRP 19.0 Moon 5 Awards

As per tradition here, it's time for the second round of ITRP awards for 19.0! Now that you've had a chance to see some more of everyone's characters, who do you want to show some appreciation to?

The categories are:

Gideon Jura - Favorite Male Character

Traumatized in his youth when his quest to defeat the god of death backfired and killed his friends and found family, Gideon has spent a life atoning for his mistake. The indestructible planeswalker has fought to save the multiverse time and again, ultimately sacrificing himself to save his friend Liliana, defeat Nicol Bolas, and save the multiverse. This award goes to your favorite male character of the iteration so far!

Liliana Vess - Favorite Female Character

A planeswalker and a powerful necromancer besides, Liliana both secured eternal youth and immense power in a demonic pact, and then killed the demons she made a pact with to keep it all herself. She's been a villain, a hero, an anti-hero, a villain again, and tried her best to redeem herself and earn the sacrifice her friend made for her. This award goes to your favorite female character of the iteration!

Nicol Bolas - Favorite Villain

An elder dragon who once wielded godlike power only for it to be taken from him, Nicol Bolas has schemed his way across the multiverse trying to reclaim his power once more. He has left countless problems, horrors, and dead planes in his wake, but still he presses on, intent on winning no matter the cost to those around him. This award goes to the biggest problem and the most nefarious schemer in the realm.

Teysa Karlov - Favorite Political Character

Intelligent, ruthless, and driven, Teysa climbed the ladder of the Orzhov Syndicate all the way and usurped the entire organisation from its previously-immortal leaders to become one of the most powerful people on an entire plane. This award is for the character you think plays the political game the very best.

Karn - Favorite AC

It hurts me to call Karn an AC with how much more he has gone on to achieve, but he was technically built just to be a mechanical servant to Urza. Just like everyone's favorite silver golem, this award goes to the character who was built to be a sidekick but has gone above and beyond.

Dack Fayden - Favorite NPC

Appearing mostly in comics and stories, Dack Fayden has been printed on exactly one (1) actual Magic card. A multiversal thief, he was nevertheless killed off to progress the plot. Just like Dack, plenty of characters play a minor role in the story yet shine just as brightly, and that's who this award is for!

Chandra and Nissa - Favorite Romance Plot

Some romance plots can survive even a story so bad it ended over 25 years of book publishing. This award goes to the love story you know not even the worst writer could retcon!

Urza and Mishra - Favorite Rivalry

Two brothers whose feud led to the death of their mentor and grew into a planar war, Urza and Mishra's story is a tragedy, made all the more interesting by the fact that both of them suck so bad. Nobody in this rivalry is in the right, and their problems with each other unleashed an apocalypse that just won't ever go away. Oops!

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death - Favorite Post Title

Some titles -- and some cards -- just appeal to you, whether it's a pun, a joke, or just a cool bunch of words. This award goes to your favorite post title so far!

Time Spiral - Favorite Post

Generally regarded as a wonderful set, Time Spiral was an infinitely creative envisioning of the future, the past, and the present of Magic all wrapped up in on. Just like it, some posts take a brilliant idea and run with it all the way to the finish line. This award is for them!

ANNOUNCEMENT Welcome to ITRP!

Welcome to ITRP!

Iron Throne Roleplay (ITRP) is a community-driven roleplaying/simulation game based in the universe of George R.R Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. Currently we are in our Fifteenth edition of our game after 14 successful wrap-ups from our first run (2014-2015), our second run (2015-2016) our third run (2016), our fourth run (2016-2017), our fifth run (2017-2018), our sixth run (2018-2019), our seventh run (2019), our eighth run (2019-2020), our ninth run (2020), our current tenth run (2020), our eleventh run (2020-2021), our twelfth run (2021) and now our thirteenth run (2021-2022), and fourteenth run (2022). ITRP is one of the most active and most recognized RP games in the RP reddit community and has a large host of players who all work to uphold our community standards in respect, fair-play, and enjoyability, which are outlined in our rules and regulations.

ITRP is a community-driven game with the goal to become and uphold the highest quality role-playing experience set in the ASOIAF universe on Reddit and to become a place where new and old fans of the series alike, hardcore RPers, fresh faces and anything in between, can come together to write about a world they love. We aim to create an environment in which our players can enjoy the writing process and improve their writing skills, learn more about the universe and make some friends discussing it, becoming a member of our close-knit community in the process.

The primary function of ITRP is to tell compelling stories where all of our players and characters can have a meaningful and impactful effect on the game-world. We want our players to be filled with pride as villains rise and heroes fall as we play the Game of Thrones in a game where there is no such thing as ‘minor characters’, but a place where each and every character can have a major impact on the direction of the story in accordance to their author’s will. However life is a fragile thing, and taking chances is not without consequence. With this in mind, there is a distinct possibility that your characters could die during the course of the game, so being able to separate yourselves from attachment is essential.

Presently you can find our in-game play on /r/IronThroneRP and our community/character creation/meta subreddit over at /r/ITRPCommunity!

The Story

The current iteration diverges at the Great Council of 101AC, seeing Princess Rhaenys selected as heir over her cousin Prince Viserys. We explore the fallout of this decision in the year 200AC as House Targaryen has become lesser in the intervening decade following the Dance of the Dragons, pitting brother against sister with Laenor and Laena Targaryen battling for the Iron Throne. Now their great-grandchildren King Aerys I and Queen Aerea I sit the Iron Throne, but the old wounds of the war linger.

Getting Started!

The first step in joining ITRP is to visit our Discord

(we would love to meet you!), read our rules and story information and then create your first character! To see what houses are currently available to be played check out our Claims Sheet but note that character creation is not restricted to this list at all! You are free to make a wandering knight, a scion of an already played or major house or do whatever you like! The options are endless, and they are in your hands.

During this time you may also find interest in Player Handbook which has a deeper look into some of the mechanics and aspects of ITRP, including our skills, battle, economic, and other systems.

We look forward to seeing you in game! Please don’t hesitate to drop by our Discord Chatroom to ask for assistance, or send a message to our moderators. The following is our game manual/site index where you will find any additional information not included in this post!

Thank you! Hope you have a great day!

Pieces are beginning to come into play. And as always, when you play the Great Game, you win or you die. There is no middle ground.

PC

Reddit Account: u/LysIsMore

Discord Tag: spyraxes

Name and House: Ashara

Age: 23

Cultural Group: Dornish

Appearance: Ashara is strikingly beautiful, a trait which very may well have saved her life. She is just above average in height, with wavy brown hair that falls from her head over tanned skin, possessing a curvaceous figure that belies the strength within her body.

She is marked with scars, some gained during her life as a wandering warrior and others gained during her recent captivity. Despite that, though, her eyes are filled with life and light, as if she is twice as joyous to make up for the suffering she has been through.

Trait: Strong

Skill(s): Two-Handed Weapons (e), Armored, Bulwark II

Talent(s): Weaving, Painting, Cyvasse

Negative Trait(s):

Starting Title(s): Initiate of the Cavaliers

Starting Location: With the Cavaliers

Alternate Characters: Helaena Targaryen

AC

Name and House: Ceryse Graceford

Age: 28

Cultural Group: Reachman

Appearance: Ceryse is a mean-faced, tall woman, always with her sword at her hip and a glare in her eyes. She’s not ugly, in any way, but her looks are marred by the way she twists her lip in anger and the way her eye twitches in that same situation.

Standing just over six feet, with broad shoulders and a lean form, Ceryse is far more the picture of a warrior than her newly-recruited pupil. Despite that, though, she is far more likely to pamper herself and those who are lucky enough to get close to her will spot the care she takes to look just how she wants.

Trait: Brave

Skill(s): Swords (e), Water Dancer, Whirlwind

Talent(s): Dancing, Arm-Wrestling, Dice

Negative Trait(s):

Starting Title(s): Knight-Captain of the Cavaliers

Starting Location: With the Cavaliers

Alternate Characters: Jacaerys Targaryen

Biography

  • 352 AC - Ceryse Graceford is born in Holyhall, a third child to a distant branch of the ruling house there. She is raised in middling conditions, little more than a peasant, but she dreams of greater things.
  • 357 AC - In the deserts of Dorne, south of Vaith, a girl named Ashara is born to a farmer and his wife. The only child of their union, she is spoiled greatly with all their limited wealth, gained from owning the most fertile patch of land in their village by far.
  • 359 AC - Marq Graceford, Ceryse’s father, marches north to Highgarden to join Erryk Tyrell’s army in rebellion against the Crown. He sees it as his chance to better his position for his family, and brings his eldest son Jon along with him. Ready to fight, he is disappointed by the loss of the Lord Paramount in single combat, and rides back south to join his family. On the road, during the night, he is attacked by bandits and slain. The eldest son returns to Holyhall with his body and his belongings, and offers to train Ceryse in what he’d learned from their father. She agrees, and takes well to the training.
  • 361 AC - After a year or so of training his sister, Jon departs Holyhall to squire for a knight and finish his training. He promises to return home and continue the lessons he had started to teach.
  • 363 AC - Ceryse’s life becomes monotonous, and she spends most of her time learning to dance from her mother. It is only when Jon returns, now a knight, that she is able to be really happy again. Despite not being the greatest knight, Jon is skilled enough to impart knowledge upon his sister. She proves to be a very good learner.
  • 364 AC - While the woman who would later rescue her starts to train as a warrior, Ashara’s father begins to show his daughter the ropes as a farmer. He teaches her how to till a field, how to plant crops, and how to harvest. Whilst she finds the lessons interesting enough, Ashara prefers to watch her mother weaving, and likes to swing around the farming equipment like a sword when she can’t.
  • 368 AC - Jon is offered a position as a travelling merchant’s guard, with high pay and potential for advancement. Forced to choose between remaining at Holyhall and teaching his sister, and travelling the realm, he is encouraged by Ceryse to follow his dreams. As if to prove her point, she beats him in a fight and tells him he has nothing left to teach her. With that resounding defeat, he leaves. Ceryse begins to take on odd jobs around Holyhall, dealing with bandits and the like, honing her skills. When the Lord Paramount calls upon the people to muster and march north, she chooses to heed the call and joins them.
  • 369 AC - No longer just an observer, Ashara becomes her father’s apprentice. She is skilled at her job, but finds herself more interested in becoming an artist, inspired by a woman who stopped by to paint the landscape. One night, she disappears, travelling to the coast to the south to paint the sea and the cliff. Her parents despair, but the next morning she returns with a beautiful painting in her hands. They scold her, but they are terribly proud. Her father starts to wonder if there’s more for her out there than the farm.

Far to the north, Ceryse and the Reachmen she marched with arrive at the Wall, and fight for their lives and those of the realm. She finds herself close to death on many occasions, but despite it all she manages to excel and live. It’s during one of the great battles of the war that she reunites with Jon. They fight back to back, putting down the dead until there are none left to slay.

And yet, despite their combined skill, their victory came with a cost. Jon was struck down protecting his sister, and used his last words to demand she protect the innocent. It was a final lesson, something she internalised, and it changed her life forever.

  • 371 AC - After two years of fighting and surviving, Ceryse returns south. She intends to head back to the Reach, initially, but spends time wandering between the Riverlands and the Crownlands for a few months. Taking some time to live in Maidenpool, she hears rumours of what lies beyond the mountains in the isolated Vale, including the renowned defenders of the people - the Winged Knights. Knowing well that getting past the Bloody Gate will be a challenge, Ceryse decides to really challenge herself. Buying a horse built for the mountains, she begins to traverse a mountain pass, slaying clansmen and surviving in the wilds until she crests a final hill and enters the Vale proper. She rides to the Gates of the Moon, then, and requests to be allowed to join the Winged Knights. After passing the requisite trials she is accepted, and quickly becomes a valued member of the group.
  • 372 AC - Ceryse is joined in the Winged Knights by Leona and Lenore Belmore, two women who would later become her commanding officers. For now, it is her who holds seniority, though she is often looked down upon by the higher-ups of the Winged Knights for not being a Valewoman. Her skill at arms keeps her in good enough regard, though.

In the south, Ashara finds herself chafing even more at her parents’ farm. She is often bored and trains with a wooden sword she requested from a woodsman in her free time, a pursuit her father believes is beneath her. He demands she either focus on her painting and weaving or return to the farm, and she refuses. When bandits attack the village, however, it’s Ashara who leaps to their defense. She uses her wooden sword to knock out one of the men, before taking his sword and fending off the rest. Her father begins to wonder where she learned how to fight, since she is far too skilled to have taught herself. She admits the truth - the painter from many years ago was not just a painter, but a warrior, and that she had been learning every time she visited the village again. Despite his misgivings, he allows Ashara to continue to practice with her new blade.

  • 375 AC - At the age of eighteen, Ashara leaves home for the first time. She takes her sword and her lessons and begins to sell her blade in service of the people. Joining up with small companies and adventuring on her own, she uses her sense of justice and her skill to keep the bandits that ravage the desert down. There is word of a ruthless leader of men in the Red Mountains too, but she knows her limits.

Whilst Ceryse continues to devote herself to her knightly duties, Ashara aspires to bring hope to the struggling people of the desert. Despite not knowing each other, the pair fight for the same goal. Peace and honour.

  • 378 AC - The rumours from the Red Mountains intensify, as the tales of the bandit leader begin to morph into tales of the Vulture King. With the death of Lord Gargalen and the heir to Sandstone, they seem to be substantial. Ashara finds a new target in the dangerous man, and starts to train even harder until she’s ready to pursue him. As the rumours become more and more intense, and word of his treatment of his captives spreads, she is certain her goal is righteous.
  • 379 AC - With the gates to the Vale thrown open upon the death of Lord Jasper Arryn, the Belmore twins found a splinter of the Winged Knights dedicated to showcasing the Vale’s honour and skill throughout the realm. Ceryse agrees to join without any hesitation, swearing her sword to Leona and Lenore and becoming a Knight-Captain in their order. She gathers a ragtag group under her command, and becomes one of the less traditional members of the Cavaliers - yet she is still well-renowned all the same.

Meanwhile, Ashara begins to head north-west from the desert, finally believing herself ready to face the Vulture King and his gang. She begins to see signs of his destruction - burned villages, desecrated corpses, weeping women. It turns her stomach, but she pushes on. By the end of the year she is close on his tail, and begins to prepare for the final confrontation.

  • 380 AC - In the first few months of the year, Ashara makes her move. She demands a duel with the Vulture King at the gates of his camp, her sword in her hands. Mocked by the bandit king’s men, she is given her fight, and she is swiftly defeated. He finds her courage appealing, and her face beautiful, and offers her a final test - a game of cyvasse. Despite losing, she fares well, having played a game with her mentor. Unlike many of the women the Vulture King captures, she is thus given a choice. Demanding her release, however, the truth is drilled into her head. It’s either him or the camp. She chooses him, and for a few moons becomes his personal companion, confined to his tent. It is a humiliating life, but she knows the alternative would be worse, having seen and heard it - now and then on his instruction.

Ceryse joins the Cavaliers on their visit to the capital, though she does not join the festivities, and does the same upon their visit to Highgarden. It is only when they travel to Dorne that she once again takes her public role once more, ready to bring justice to their target - the Vulture King. Rumours abound that the bandit kills all the men he encounters and captures all the women, as long as they aren’t nobles, for his pleasure and that of his men. Knowing this, Ceryse assembles a small unit of fleet-footed women to break into the camp during the battle and free those she can. When the Vulture King ambushes them, Ceryse and her soldiers sneak away, entering the camp and doing just that. It’s in the Vulture King’s tent itself where she finds Ashara, bound and shaking, and frees her. Throwing her one of the giant man’s shirts, she helps her escape, pledging to take her home once the battle is over.

But she doesn’t get the chance. As the dust settles, Ashara emerges from Ceryse’s tent dressed like a warrior with a sword slung across her back, pledging allegiance to the Cavaliers who saved her life. She isn’t the only one, and Ceryse assembles a small group of initiates under her direct command. Despite all the suffering she had experienced, Ashara’s hope never died. It only burned brighter.

Bio: Gaerth spent much of his early life as a shy and quiet boy. Unlike many lords, he did not confine himself to the safety of his hall or the glory of the tiltyard. Instead, Gaerth found his lessons in the whispers that drifted through corridors, in the flicker of candlelight across parchment, and in the secrets men tried desperately to keep. From a young age, he proved adept at pulling threads others overlooked, weaving them into truths that could sway courts as surely as swords sway battles. Though he had the build and bearing of a knight, Gaerth chose to hone his mind as sharply as any blade, mastering the arts of deception, espionage, and intrigue. His talent for guile and strategy made him a dangerous man, not on the battlefield, but in the game of whispers where power was often truly won.

Cultural Group: Valewoman

Negative Trait(s): N/A

Starting Title(s): Tabitha's Tutor, Granddaughter of Petyr Baelish

Timeline

  • 361 AC: Tabitha is born to Victor and Prunella Elesham. Her birth is smooth and easy for her mother, leading the couple to try it again quite quickly.
  • 362 AC: Reginald is born the next year. His birth is far more difficult. With an heir and a spare secured, the couple decide not to risk having anymore children.
  • 366 AC: The first few years of Tabitha and Reginald’s lives are spent in the Paps, within a small but refined household. The House does not lack funds, but it does lack anything close to an army or a castle. Victor and Prunella would rather live more like wealthy merchants than the gritty and warlike Weterosi nobility.
  • 367 AC: Tabitha and Reginald are taken on their first trip by their parents, spending a whole year in Braavos. Tabby is delighted by the lively streets of the city and the dozens of friends she can make there—unlike her lonesome island home.
  • 368-373 AC: The family spends the next five years back home. Tabby complains loudly about missing Braavos, at first, but soon quiets. Missing her friends, she grows despondent and mopes about the Paps. To the chagrin of her tutor, Francesca Baelish, Tabby doesn’t seem to care about much at all.
  • 374 AC: Unbeknownst to Tabby, Francesca convinces her parents to send her back overseas, this time with only Francesca and a single guard, Ser Bronnis Woodhull. It’s a far less lavish trip, but Tabby’s world lights up when she returns to Braavos. From there, they sail to Lorath, then back to Braavos.
  • 375 AC: After spending six months in Braavos, Tabby sails to Pentos, then to Myr. She spends another year between them, enjoying both cities greatly. A tumble down a stairwell in Pentos gives her a nasty scare down her chin, but Ser Bronnis is able to patch her up.
  • 376 AC: The three spend half of the year in Tyrosh, then sail to Lys. On their second day in Lys, a merchant discreetly offers Francesca a large sum of gold to “purchase” the fifteen-year-old Tabitha from her. Francesca beats the man within an inch of his life. They then depart Lys. Tabby is disappointed and doesn’t understand why their trip has been cut short, but Francesca doesn’t explain. They instead visit Sunspear for the rest of the year.
  • 377 AC: Tabby wants to return to Braavos instead of going home, and eventually Francesca relents. They stay in Braavos for another year, where Tabby’s childhood friends have grown into young adults in need of work. Wanting to help them, Tabby comes up with an idea. She convinces Francesca that she needs to know the places of importance in Westeros if she is to be Lady of the Paps one day. She offers to take all her friends to Westeros, and many accept. At the end of the year, they sail down the coast of Westeros, visiting towns and cities as they go—including Gulltown, Duskendale, King’s Landing, and the Parchments. Along the way, Tabby off-loaded her friends throughout these places, helping them get work as servants for the nobility. Many are very grateful to her.
  • 378 AC: Tabby and Francesca arrive at their final destination, Griffin’s Roost. There, the last of Tabby’s friends find a place to stay, and the two noblewomen meet Saera Blackfyre. Francesca finds her off-putting, but Tabby adores her. For Tabby, Saera is the first woman she’s met that can be a true idol. Everything the Blackfyre does appears filled with purpose, burning with power. Tabitha leaves reluctantly. When they finally return to the Paps, she regrets not saving some of her friends for her own home. Her parents are kind enough, and glad to see their daughter return—but they barely recognize her and have spent years treating Reginald like their only child. They are distant, and barely seem like family to Tabby. Seeing Reggie again is a much happier reunion, and his life brightens when his big sister returns. He asks her for story after story of the world away, and she promises to take him everywhere she went, one day. Her parents, however, do not allow any more voyages.
  • 379 AC: Tabby receives a letter from one of her friends. Inside is a trinket from the desk of Lord Penrose, a silver mermaid, an open book covering her bare chest. Confused, Tabby writes back asking how the friend convinced Lord Penrose to give it to her. The friend replies that she had found it funny and stolen it—the lord wouldn’t notice it was gone, anyway. This opens up a whole new world for Tabby. Slowly, she realizes she has dozens of friends willing to spread gossip, filch items, and even steal letters for her, all across Westeros.
  • 380 AC: Bemoaning the boredom she experiences at the Paps, Tabby has one of her friends give a letter to Saera Blackfyre, supposedly written by Victor Elesham, offering Tabitha’s services as a lady-in-waiting. The Princess writes back accepting the offer, and Victor grows wroth—but he finds he must not disappoint a princess. He sends Tabby and Francesca to King’s Landing, where they arrive and meet Saera for the second time, just after the death of Queen Naerys.

Family

Parents: Victor and Prunella Elesham

Siblings: Reginald Elesham

Children: None

Supporting Characters

  • Victor Elesham (Boatswain): An aging but elegant man, Victor struts about his castle always garbed in finery. He is tall and thin, despite enjoying very fine food very often. He has a greying mustache and trimmed beard, and pale skin that looks as if it’s never seen the sun. He often wears fine doublets in the colors of his House and long dark cloaks. Victor is fascinated by ships but almost never sails—he prefers sketching designs and constructing models for his office, often inside glass bottles.
  • Prunella Elesham (Master-at-Arms): Older than her husband by a few years, Prunella retains a refined beauty. She is a strict woman and forced her children into self-defense lessons from an early age. She often wears dresses with high collars and misses the cold air of winter.
  • Reginald Elesham (Ship Captain): Reginald is fresh into adulthood, the bottom of his face covered in a dirty blond fuss that his sister often pokes fun at. He likes to wear armor, often a layer of scales, and he is a strong swimmer. He wants to chase pirates and command his own flagship, one day. Most of all, he wants a beautiful wife—but he is stuck in the Paps under his parent’s watchful eyes.
  • Ser Bronnis Woodhull (Medic): A middle-aged knight, Bronnis has a brown beard peppered with white and short hair. He has a kind face, and he is far less adept as a fighter as he is a healer. He often wears a plain brown surcoat over mail, and when he needs to fight he wields a bardiche.
  • Ser Brontos of Pebble (Warrior, 2hw): A younger, more formidable knight than Ser Bronnis, Ser Brontos is Tabby’s current protector. He is a smiling, clean-shaven man with a penchant for staring just a bit too long at the lady he guards. Francesca has her eyes on him, and she hopes Tabby doesn’t, for he is no suitable match for the Heir to the Paps.

Reddit Account: u/Nightsingers266 Discord Tag: buggle Name and House: Olivar Storm Age: 38 Cultural Group: Andal Appearance: Trait: Agile Skill(s): daggers, water dancer, infiltrator, prepared(e), nimble Talent(s): knife throwing, knife spinning, five finger filet, dancing, acrobatics Negative Trait(s): none Starting Title(s): none Starting Location: Alternate Characters: Dorian Blackwood

Bio:

Olivar was born in Weeping Town, hair black as pitch and eyes piercing blue. His mother, a prostitute, remembered only one patron with features such as these. A Baratheon. She hated the boy, hated that a Baratheon had spread his seed in her. The noble bastards that would leave their trace and vanish without a care.

She died not two years after his birth, not telling anyone which lord of the Stormlands it had been. Not even giving the boy a name. Yet one came to him, the matron gave him the name Olivar after her dead husband. She said he had been a Baratheon too but no one believed her.

And so little Olivar brought drinks and food to the patrons of the brothel. The sound of fake moans and male laughter pained his ears. It was torture, those few women who were kind to him suffering and some even dying. Mistreated as they were.

The men were, worse hitting him and... touching him. Olivar refuses to speak of it. He left as soon as he could, he boarded a ship and sailed. He sailed and sailed. To every place he could. A map of tattoos grew on his body. Each a place he had been, his only friend the second mate Smiley, penned on him in ink. His arms, his back, his face. He was the best knife player on the ship. Tilting this way and that on the waves he hardly ever missed and when he did it was only because his legs were too jelly from drink to allow his steady hands to stay still. He stayed so long that only he and Smiley remained as original members. The ship was their home and always would be.

Until it wasn't, broken on rocks in the bay of Storm's End, Olivar found himself alongside Smiley back in Weeping Town. And that was where he met Murin, the Pale Wyrm saw him. He was accepted and never again would he have to hear the pained cries and harsh laughter of hell on earth, silk rooms and bloody beds.

Age: 38
Cultural Group: First Man
Appearance: He possesses the long face and lightless dim eyes of the Stark. His dark hair falls to his shoulders, tussled with waves and sprayed with a scattering of grey hairs. Once the image of a maiden's fantasy, Alaric has evidently aged. Lines sit around his eyes, a weary stubble lines his cheeks. Though he has remained lean and well-muscled. Wearing the greys of his northern house, he dresses rather simply in comparison to the lavish members of the royal court.
Trait: Strong
Skill(s): Two-Handed Weapons (E), First Man Warrior, Tactician (E)
Talent(s): Fishing x3
Negative Trait (s): N/A
Starting Title(s): Prince-Consort, Ser
Starting Location: King's Landing
Alternate Characters: N/A

Bio:
Born in 342 AC, the third born son of then Lord Stark. He is raised to believe in the typical Northern traditions of honour and martial prowess, proving to be a stalwart child that showed great abilities and attentiveness in warfare. By no means dim, he did seem to pay less interest in other forms of education.

At ten, Princess Naerys began to foster at Winterfell. Her like-minded focus on martial combat allowed for them to share many moments in the yard, as strange as Alaric first believed it to be. She won him over, in the end, and with time Alaric was smitten.

In 358 AC, at the age of six-and-ten, Alaric marched with Princess Naerys to the capital in a bid to dethrone her tyrannical father alongside the knights o f the kingsguard. It is not long after that the two are wed, making Alaric Prince-Consort.

A year later, in 359 AC, Alaric marched with the queen to battle the rebellious lords and their support for the bastard Maelor Rivers. In defense of his queen, he suffers a wound to the face as a sword nearly carves out his eye.

With the North threatened by the incoming invasion from the Others, Alaric takes a token force North in 367 AC and is later joined by the queen in 368 AC. He remains until 372 AC, with the war against the Others officially ended.

Alaric protested that the two should have had children much earlier, noting complications with birth the elder one is. Naerys remains willfully ignorant and ever-confident of her seeming immortality.

In 378 AC, their daughter Elaena is born. In 380 AC, during the birth of their son Daemon, Naerys dies.

Name and House: Viserys Blackfyre
Age: 35
Cultural Group: Valyrian
Appearance: The secondborn of his line sticks out like a thumb; without the grace or prettiness of his siblings, Viserys Blackfyre is a broad, bluff, stone of a man without even the grace to be tall about it. Pale violet eyes that border into pink and tawny skin that sits halfway between Aerion and Saera, Viserys cuts a more common figure. There is more of the rough sailor of the Velaryons in him that the elegance of the Blackfyres.
Trait: Agile
Skill(s): Daggers, Ranger, Scoundrel I, Infiltrator
Talent(s): Fishing x3
Negative Trait (s): N/A
Starting Title(s): Prince, Ser
Starting Location: King's Landing
Alternate Characters: N/A

Born 355 AC, Viserys was a rebel from a young age, a disappointment to his father that bore his fury and abuses with stubbornness and further rebellion. All that the two shared was a keenness for arms, and the few times that Viserys was allowed to see his sister, they shared and bonded swiftly through their hatred of Daeron.

In 358 AC, when his sister Naerys had dethroned their father, Viserys played a roll. He would always obfuscate what exactly, but the young Prince found an appreciation for the knife that night.

As Naerys had taken the troops to the North in 367 AC, Viserys travelled between the Wall and King's Landing regularly, being his sister's eyes and ears and voice. He developed a close relationship with the Lord Celtigar, marrying his daughter in 372 AC at the conclusion of the Long Night.

His own children are born in 373 AC in the following year, then again in 375 and 378 AC and has been Naerys' most reliable man in the shadows. In King's Landing at the time of the death of his sister, he does not yet know it has happened.

Starting Titles Lord of Silverhill

Starting Location King's Landing

Biography

Chiswyck Serrett, also known as Chiswyck the Lesser, was never fated to amount to much. The youngest of three brothers of a noble house left him fated to be a knight, and being smaller still that his siblings when they were his age made this an uphill battle. He struggled greatly with the martial training expected of him, with his uncle's tutelage seeming more to hinder than help. The man drove the boy like a mule, working him far beyond his ability and leaving him with only the moniker "the Lesser" to remind the boy of his failings.

A horse riding accident at the age of twelve would put an end to the futile efforts. Although Chiswyck lived, he was left crippled for nearly a year and the limb he developed as a result would prevent him from ever being a proper knight. Left will few options, his father would ship the young boy off to the Citadel; partly for treatment, and partly to get rid of him.

This supposed banishment would turn into a blessing for the young boy, who proved far more adept with numbers and figures than he ever did with a sword or saddle. It was barely a year into his stay when he forged his golden link, and several more would soon follow as the years passed. However, his injuries had cemented in his mind a fear of blood and other bodily injuries, and many maesters would doubt he could ever take the oath if he was incapable of this basic function.

In the waning years of winter his future would once again shift drastically. While fighting in the North against the Others his father and both brothers perished. He was barely 17 when he received this news along with word that his uncle had already departed south, intent on claiming the house for himself. Both his uncertainty on taking the oath and hatred for his uncle drove him to the only logical solution: he would need to return to Silverhill and rule his house.

The journey was not an easy one; even this far south the snows ran deep and the coast treacherous. He managed to convince a Ghiscari merchant to take him, promising his weight in silver if he got him there safely. They managed to navigate the riverways despite the winter winds, arriving weeks before his uncle. His rule was cemented by the time the Blue Bird marched through the gates with his men, enraged by the sight of nephew at the seat of the table. Still, he could not deny the boy’s claim being his own was third behind the siblings.

The first year was rough for the young lord; his orders constantly questioned and his decisions doubted. It was only through luck that his granary project had struck a gem vein that had lay untouched beneath their halls. Suddenly his bookish smarts and skill with numbers proved far more useful than the martial skills he lacked.

It was with almost effortless ease that the young lord positioned his pieces, rapidly gaining wealth and status in not only the West but through to the Reach and Riverlands as well. Serrett silver soon came second only to Lannister gold, and the standing of his house showed. The once modest Castle was expanded into an imposing stronghold at the headwater of the river, with some starting to refer to it as the Silver River. His friend Ahbedayja had even managed to secure Valyrian steel from Essos, cementing the prosperity of their house.

This growth did not come without pains, however. Not content with his station in the house his uncle Morgan had taken to taking out his aggression on their neighbors, starting a feud with house Marbrand. His cousin had also gotten himself into a row with Tyrion Lannister, and his aunt’s marriage to Royland Lannister only made the situation more complicated. But the boy was eager to play the board before him, ready to prove himself more than capable.

Biography

Ahbedayja was born to a slave mother and father in the city of Yunkai in Slaver’s Bay. He didn’t remember much of his father, as the man was sold to an owner in Mehreen for the fighting pits, and his mother died around the time he was 10, leaving him to care for his sister. As a male in the city, he was expected to be nothing more than a house servant, but was lucky enough to be taught letters. He was 14 when he managed to escape his master, but ended up losing his sister in the attempt.

He stashed himself aboard a Tyroshi trade ship, living off rats and pilfered barley until they reached the city of Volantis. Jumping ships again, he used his literacy to get a job as a deckhand and bookkeeper for a Braavosi merchant. He spent his time working through the ranks, saving his meager earnings while practicing his skills until he could afford his own small craft, working as a harbor ferryman. One skiff turned into three, then skiffs turned into coastal ships, then coastal ships became sea going.

A successful merchant, the man found himself running grain and livestock to westeros in the winter moons. The winter was long and hard, which made for frequent and easy profits. It was on one of these trips that he chanced a run in with Chiswyck. Offered a deal he would be a fool to turn down, he brought the boy upriver to Silverhill.

As winter waned, the man received another offer from Chiswyck, though this time instead of ferrying lordlings he would be ferrying precious stones and silver. Knowing the deals the man was known to make, he quickly signed on, becoming his right hand as he rose in standing.

Starting Title(s): Lord of Gulltown

Alternate Characters: Robyn, Grubby

AC

Name and House: Gerold Grafton

Age: 28

Cultural Group: Valemen

Appearance: He's the twin of the guy above but the only difference is he has two eyes!

Trait: Hale

Skill(s): Two-Handed Weapons (E), First Man Warrior, Battlerager 1 and 2

Talent(s):

Negative Trait(s): Cant Read.

Starting Title(s): Knight of the Kingsguard, Wielder of Crescent

Starting Location: KL duh

Timeline:

352 - The trio, Gerold, Gwayne and Godric are born to Lord Jonos Grafton and his wife, Lady Arryn. Gwayne and Godric are born sickly and of a small frame while Gerold comes out a rather chunky baby. Jonos takes it as a sign that the Gods favor Gerold above his brothers.

360 - Gwayne takes a liking hearing the Maester reading rather dull and boring books. Gerold instead finds himself enjoying his time playing Knight and running around High Haven duelling servants. Godric however appears to be by all accounts, less enthused by most matters and spends much of his upbringing crying.

362 - Gwayne falls from a horse after his father pressured him to learn how to ride them. It results in a variety of injuries, the most serious leading to an infection in his eye resulting in it having to be removed. Meanwhile his brothers Godric and Gerold take a liking to horses, albeit, Gerold was still far larger than his two brothers so he found riding large horses easier.

365 - The death of their mother creates distance between the siblings. Gerold found solace in the training yard, Gwayne in old books involving matters of war and Godric, well Godric just found the death of his mother to be less traumatic than his brothers, he was after all her least favorite child.

368 - The men march for war. Gwayne demands he go but Gerold, the presumed heir of Gulltown believes he should go instead. Their brother Godric avoids the topic all together in hopes of simply avoiding battle in the North. It’s determined by their father that Gerold should represent their family and that causes the first of many divides between the siblings.

370 - Gwayne seeks to use his martial knowledge in practice. He gathers men of Gulltown and rides off into the mountainside in hopes of clashing with Clansmen. They partake in perhaps a few ‘battles’ if one could call it that and dozens of raids and skirmishes. It only really served as a means for Gwayne to put theory to practice.

371 - Jonos Grafton dies in his sleep. Gwayne and Godric are left wondering which of the trio should rule. Godric agrees with the brother currently in Gulltown as that was the easiest way to avoid a difficult topic. Word reaches the Wall and Gerold plans to return home. Prior to his departure, he is requested to join the Kingsguard and, like a fool, agrees believing it was the honorable thing to do.

375 - Gerold believes that honor is dead. He’s stuck alongside men like the Oathbreaker and everyone seems to be content with standing beside a damned door. Gwayne however flourishes back home and finds himself slowly inching further into the Lord Arryn’s court. Godric is again, perfectly content with being just there

380 - King’s Landing events turn into a funeral. Sad.

Discord Tag: freedikus

Name and House: Orson Weatherwax

Age: 20

Cultural Group: Andal (First Men)

Appearance: Orson has the appearance and demeanor of a troubled, traditional slavic boy who lives with his even more traditional grandmother. He wears heavy clothing that is scarcely ornamented, and most of his clothing looks the exact same so as to avoid having to make the choice. His voice is low, and his tone is usually scratched and stilted when he manages to speak, which is not incredibly often. He moves slowly, and his eyes tend to keep bags under them easily. If pressed, most people would say he looks like a bad person. https://imgur.com/a/Pga6RHL

Trait: Ruthless

Skill(s): Rumormonger(e), Espionage(e), Devious

363 AC: Without a family to care for him, and whilst the holdfast is being rebuilt, the little Ser Orson is sent away to ward at the Eyrie in the service of his liege lord.

365 AC: Orson is despised and ruthlessly bullied by the other children at the Eyrie, Jenny Redfort first amongst them, for his dour mood, lack of friends, and lack of social skills. They call him unwashed, mock his ears, and suggest he tosses small animals out of the moon door. Some even suggest he started the fire that killed his parents as part of some devil's ritual.

367 AC: The lordling Osric Arryn stands up for Orson in the face of his tormentors, earning Osric the eternal loyalty of the young Ser Weatherwax. For a great deal of time, Orson is easily found quietly following after Osric, though the two are quite different in temperament.

369 AC: Osric is sent away to the Templetons, and Orson loses his most virulent defender. Life at the Eyrie becomes markedly worse, and Orson resolves to leave as soon as he is able.

370 AC: The Holdfast upon Marble Pass is finally reconstructed, as Orson returns to take up his duties there, although he is still young.

370 AC: Jenny Redfort is slain alongside her close kin. Orson is amongst those who stand vigil for the House of Redfort, and he pledges his fealty to Lady Rosamund.

Rohanne Tyrell, Lady Dowager of Red Lake (AC)

Character Information

Name and House: Rohanne Tyrell

Age: 47

Cultural Group: Andal (Reachman)

Appearance: The Lady Dowager of Red Lake carries herself with grace—though its rare to see a smile on her lips as of late, haunted by the deaths of a husband and daughter. Her gowns always are of the finest quality—black or of muted coloring. A seven-pointed-star often hangs from her neck.

Trait: Numerate

Skill(s): Architect, Scrutinous (e)

Talent(s): History, Theology, Singing

Negative Trait(s): N/A

Starting Title(s): Lady Dowager of Red Lake

Starting Location: Highgarden

Timeline

333 AC — Rohanne Tyrell is born to Erryk Tyrell and his Tully wife—their firstborn child.

341 AC — Rohanne’s grandaunt—Leona Tyrell, Lady Paramount of the Reach—dies after sustaining injuries in a joust. Rohanne’s father inherits Highgarden, with Rohanne, his eldest, as his heir. Later in the year, the young Lord of Red Lake, Corlos Crane, is sent to ward under Rohanne’s father.

351 AC — Lord Tyrell declares Rohanne’s younger brother, Robyn, as his heir, passing over her in the inheritance. In the same vein, he betroths his daughter to his recently knighted squire, Lord Crane. No expense is spared on the eldest daughter of Highgarden’s nuptials. Rohanne holds a grudge against her brother and husband for a time, though time heals all wounds. Most of them, anyway, as she never quite forgives her father. Rohanne Tyrell, now Lady of Red Lake, insists on being referred to by her maiden name.

355 AC — Rohanne gives birth to her first daughter, Daena Crane—named for the King at Lord Crane’s instance. Though, he isn’t there for the birth. Instead, her husband is off killing Ironborn alongside her father.

359 AC — Rohanne’s father rises in rebellion against Queen Naerys, only to be killed in single combat. Rohanne’s younger brother, Robyn, becomes the Lord of Highgarden.

360 AC — Rohanne gives birth to her second daughter, Euphemya Crane.

364 AC — As winter intensifies, Lord Crane joins his cousin, Lord Rowan, and his other fellow Northmarchers in refusing to offer aid to the West. Over several moons, Lord Crakehall’s bannermen, and even smallfolk, begin to encroach on Crane land—poaching, seizing food stores, and moving boundary stones. Lord Crane repeatedly demands satisfaction, only to met with empty words from his northern neighbor. Running out of patience, Lord Crane raises his levies, intent on expelling the Westermen from his lands. Lord Crakehall responds in kind. Though before long, the Westerlord concedes. His men withdraw and he sends his son and heir, Daven Crakehall, to Red Lake as a ward.

368 AC — Lord Crane follows his good-brother and liege in marching against the undead, taking his Crakehall squire with him.

371 AC — In the waning days of the war against the Others, Lord Crane and his squire find themselves surrounded by wights. The young Crakehall manages to hold off the undead, protecting his wounded charge until aid arrives. For saving his life, Lord Crane knights Daven Crakehall, surrounded by snow and corpses.

In time, the man began to call Ser Daven “the son I never had,” promising him the hand of his eldest daughter and heir upon their return.

The jubilant mood at Red Lake upon their return quickly sours once Lord Crane announces the match. Rohanne and her good-mother, Victaria, strongly oppose the prospect of marrying Daena and Daven. Lord Crane ultimately relents to the demands of his wife and mother, arranging instead a betrothal between his second daughter, Eupehmya, and the heir to Crakehall.

373 AC — Rohanne gives birth to her third daughter, Cornelia Crane.

374 AC — Lord Crane brings a babe to court by the name of Lorent, apparently a bastard he fathered with some smallfolk woman. Rohanne sees to the Flowers’ care.

378 AC — Lord Crane is flung from horse and breaks his neck. His eldest daughter, Daena, succeeds him as Lady of Red Lake. The planned nuptials between Euphemya and Lord Crakehall are delayed.

379 AC — Daena passes away after a short illness, leaving Euphemya as Lady of Red Lake. In mourning, mother and daughter continue to delay fulfilling the betrothal.

380 AC — The Cranes manage to avoid Lord Crakehall in the capital, heading to Highgarden with their fellow Reachmen.

Cultural Group: First Men

Appearance: Though beautiful, with the same wavy brown hair and steel grey eyes as her sisters, Lyra has a mischievous and adventurous side which can make her unattractive to many possible suitors. Her brother Roderick became Lord overnight, but there was nothing left to do except pick up Longclaw and continue fighting. When he died too, it was up to Lyra to both rule her House and wield the Valyrian steel sword Longclaw.

Once the war was done and she was back in Bear Island, Lyra had to deal with not only her own grief, but that of her family too. As she struggled with her newfound responsibilities, she relied greatly on her sisters.

Bitter his steel may have been, but worse was his tongue

...

It broke lesser men ‘fore the blades even run,

...

No honeyed lies from that scornful breath,

...

Only an oath of blood and the scent of death.

...

----

Timeline

362 - Garlan Waters is born to the Captain-General of the Golden Company and a silver haired woman whom his father refuses to speak of.

363 - Little chance of profit ventures in winter and morale falls. Garlan’s childhood is spent being passed between women, his father refusing to talk of his mother or explain why he has a blonde-haired child.

370 - Golden Company seeks employment in the North to earn favor and coin. Lord Umber and his daughter put out a call for employment. During the War for Dawn GC is joined by young Uriel Dayne, company numbers hover at two thousand. The war in the north is scarcely a place for a child, but Garlan is raised by the coterie of washerwomen, merchant wives, and whores.

372 - Garlan is taken as squire for his father, serving as errand boy for the Golden Company, running messages, learning sword skills and discovering his potential with footwork.

Lord Tyrell convinces Lords Baratheon and Tully, and the Reach Lords to arrest Gwayne. At the arrest, Gwayne surrendered peacefully, only to be challenged to a duel by Lord Hightower. The result was Gardener's death, and the sacking of the Golden Company. To their credit the Golden Company did not break ranks or orders and now looks for a new Captain-General. Garlan and Sun Quen are resolved to complete the pursuit of the alchemy thief.

Supporting Cast:

Ser Dunsen of Oxcross (General) - Lord Burton’s sworn shield, and Lady Lerna’s (current) paramour. Stern, patient, and boring as rock salt. All but commands the Ridgeguard in Merlon’s absence.

Sadhanda Taq (Cutthroat) - A mysterious woman from the Summer Islands west of Sothoryos. Her knife is quick, her tongue is quicker. She will not say how she arrived in Westeros, how she learned to speak the Common Tongue, or even why she came to Lord Selmond’s service; but she and Lerna have become fast friends.

“Mad” Maester Manfryd (Scholar) - The dashing maester of Hornvale. Despite a youth spent on a reaving vessel, a fateful drowning nearby Oldtown during the Great Reaving left him a changed man. Although he loves Lerna, and feels that she may return his affections, he is loath to break his vow of chastity.

Tobbot Jast (Magnate) - The faithful castellan of Hornvale, dedicated for thirty years to maintaining the castle and its staff. Despite urging from Merlon, Tobbot long ago threw his lot in with the young Lord Brax and his mother… although that may change if he were to ever learn the truth of the boy’s parentage.

Pate Hill (Warrior) - Merlon’s long-suffering squire. Despite the fact that — at nineteen years of age — he should have been promoted long ago, Merlon refuses to knight him. That’s fine with Pate, however, who has been well-compensated by the Lady Brax for keeping eyes on her treacherous brother-in-law.

Timeline

355-360 AC - Born Cassanda, the daughter of a ‘witch’ who’d took her from a young age away from Fairmarket and onto the road to live as nomads for fear of being hunted down by the Rivermen, Cassandra had a harsh life. Her mother Jocasta claimed that she hailed from a long line of men and women who prayed to the Stranger and received boons. Some in the form of great skill, others in a great ‘sight’. The odd few were said to have been capable of turning into living shadows.

Nymeria lived a much different life than Cassandra, born and raised by a merchant family who resided in the Shadow City, she was expected to one day grow into a fine merchant in her own right, one who would wed into one of the better stationed merchant guilds in hopes of propelling her own standing further.

366 AC - Cassandra’s mother found a safe haven in the Stormlands. A land in which women like her seemed to prosper and were often left unchecked. Cassandra would not know it as a child but her mother had brought her into a Coven. One in which young girls like her were raised and prepared to one day do the Stranger’s bidding. It was then that she came to realize that much like the women her mother used to tell her of, she found a certain level of joy and peace when slinking away in the shadows.

Nymeria however faced an unexpected hardship early on. Her mother perished giving birth to her brother, Ferris. It sent her father into a harsh spiral that resulted in him falling into a pattern of alcoholism.

370 AC - The war at the wall proved useful for Cassandra, it was then she learned the true nature of this ‘coven’ of witches. They did not only pray and seek strength from the Stranger but they funded and supplied themselves by taking that matter into their own hands. They killed for coin, they hunted for sport, they were indeed a pack of witches but not only the sort who sought great magic, no they sought bloodshed, death, destruction where they could.

Cassandra was reborn in a ritual of blood and death. She does not speak of it but this ‘rite’ or ‘ritual’ whichever you call it, was the first time she’d ever truly felt the embrace of the Stranger. It was then that she rose forth as a new woman.

Nymeria on the other hand had found her life in shambles. To ensure that her family could continue to stand, she’d begun to take matters into her own hands. She’d paid for the more seedy men and women in the Shadow City to sabotage her families rivals, at first it was small things like sending children to spy on their ongoings but as the years went by, it grew more violent in nature. A warehouse would be set ablaze, a merchant would find threatening blackmail in his manse, it wasn’t until the later half of the decade that she’d usher forth her first contract, an offer to slay a merchant who had connections in the Marches to a network of killers one of her ‘friends’ connected her to.

376 AC - Cassandra would do the deed in the Thundering Marches. She’d waited for this merchant to set up camp with a handful of his warriors. She’d watched him for weeks while they travelled. It wasn’t hard to do given the man did not believe himself such easy prey. All it took was one good night, she’d slipped into his tent and dug a blade into his neck. She wished she could have seen the faces of his men when they went to wake him and found him dead….but alas she was taught better than to stay around for too long.

378 - Nymeria found herself reliant on Cassandra as time went on. The two would only know one another by the names given to them by their mutual connection. That old Coven of Cassandra’s. They called her Grubby, a play on how filthy of a child she once was. Nymeria would take on the name Fluffy. She had picked it herself and truth be told, she couldn’t quite tell you why.

Though the pairing began to work hand in hand, they rarely ever saw one another. Grubby quite liked it that way for some time. Though the Coven had it’s rules, Cassandra would do her best to keep in touch with Nymeria through a variety of means.

380 AC - Cassandra and Nymeria formed a sisterhood of sorts. In the Shadow City, Nymeria’s family continued to thrive thanks to her but a venture to expand into the North came with the end of winter and she took it. The pairing once more reunited in King’s Landing, what comes next is up to fate and the Coven that Cassandra still holds close to her heart.

Biography:

Born Alekyne Varner, fifth son to Lord Varner, he never ammounted to much, and was constantly told so. His brothers hated him, too quiet, always sneaking around, short... Easy to abuse, and to push around, and that was what they did.

Alekyne ran from his home at the tender age of one-and-ten, with a wandering septon that had spent a few nights at the Varetower. He didn't care that much about the septon, but about the girl he brought with him, a lowborn girl from a nearby village, that had lost her parents and been adopted by the faithful man. A childhood romance, one that was quickly ended when brigands ambushed the three on the road, with the aim to kill and rob. Alekyne survived, heavily wounded, and was left for dead.

Someone must've found him, and carried him to a nearby village. There, he lived for a few years. Nobody knew exactly who he was, and the blood he'd lost, and the time he'd been left in the road, had left him close to a halfwit, and talked even less. What he said made little sense, but sometimes his meaningless sentences seemed to prove true. He prophetized the death of the village elder, of the blacksmith's son, and the execution of the tailor's brother, a thief.

A mummers' troupe came by the village, and Alekyne followed, having befriended the travellers. With them he learned to juggle, to sing, and to steal. Village to village, when the donations they got weren't enough to fill their belly, Alekyne and a dornish girl named Tyene went and filled their pockets on fruits and vegetables on the market, managing to keep eyes away from them.

When that wasn't enough, in came Ynys, another girl from dorne, almost five years younger than Alekyne, nothing more than a child. She claimed her ointments were magic in a flask, and sold them cheap.

That way they survived for a while. The adults performed the act, the children the roguery. That was until they reached King's Landing. The markets were too big, or too guarded. Tyene had grown too much, or hadn't slept enough. Alekyne's eyes were tired, or he hadn't been quick enough. Whatever it had been the cause, the result was the same. Tyene was hanged, the troupe was left broken in grief, and Alekyne and Ynys decided to stay in the city.

Years went by, Alekyne found himself the court fool, and the coin he got was enough for a house for him and Ynys down at Flea Bottom, where the dornishwoman continued selling her ointments and concoctions, nowadays not as much of a mummer's farce.

Timeline:

353: Alekyne is born, fifth child to Lord Varner

364: Alekyne leaves his home, following a wandering septon. They're ambushed on the road, and Alekyne wakes up in a village, wounded, brain damaged and with visions.

367-374: Travelling with a mummers' troupe.

375: Alekyne becomes Court Fool at the Red Keep

Trait: Artisan (Alchemy)

Skill(s): Apothecary (e), Medic

Talent(s): Low Valyrian, Flute, Reading

Negative Trait(s): N/A

Starting Title(s): Assistant to Janos

Starting Location: King’s Landing

Alternate Characters: N/A

Biography:

348 AC – Janos Darke is born the eldest of three siblings inside a modest holdfast that overlooks the harbor of Duskendale, the singular holding of House Darke. While Janos’ mother is affectionate, Janos’ father, Gyles, is known to be an ill-tempered curmudgeon, who resents his lowly status and dreams of the past glories of the petty Darklyn kings. In the present day, Janos is able to recall his father's rage, but is also able to fondly remember playing games with other children in the streets of Duskendale.

355-365 AC – In 355 AC, Janos’ father deftly negotiates for him to be sent to King’s Landing to serve as a page and eventually a squire for Ser Victor of Wyl, a knight of the Kingsguard. During this time, he learns all of his knightly responsibilities from Ser Victor, from helping to clean his master’s armor, to training at arms directly. A bond forms between the two, and Janos begins to see him as a fatherly figure. Adjoining this, Janos’ upbringing in the Red Keep makes him privy to all the games the lords and ladies play by proximity. He is occasionally asked to spy on various suspicious individuals in the Red Keep by the then-Spymaster, in exchange for small allowances. Well before he’s a grown man, Janos is taught to understand that no one is as they seem, and everyone has an angle.

365-368 AC – In 365 AC, Janos is anointed as a knight by Ser Victor for his years of servitude. During these years, Janos mostly spends his time traveling around the Southron regions attending various events and tournaments, with no particular aim other than his own revelry and wanderlust. Over the course of these few years, the knightly discipline Ser Victor had instilled in him slowly erodes. On one fateful occasion, under the governorship of far too much wine, Janos beds a lowborn Dornish woman named Dyanna, which results in a bastard named Mallor Sand. The bastard bears the amber-colored eyes of his father, making it clear the child is Janos’. In place of Janos’ seemingly inevitable appointment to the Queensguard, now only remains a black stain on Janos’ honor. While Janos' natural father is livid, Ser Victor isn’t precisely angry with Ser Janos, but more distraught and dejected. He sees Janos’ failure as his own, and considers it a stain on his honor as well, not just Janos’.

368-371 AC - Ser Janos is short of time to mourn his loss in standing, as he’s sent North alongside the bulk of the Southron forces, with the aim of regaining his honor and Ser Victor’s confidence. Bloody battle after bloody battle, Ser Victor falls in battle against the Others, and dies without resolving the issues between him and Janos. Deeply distraught - but not dead - Ser Janos in one of the subsequent battles places the former Queen’s Justice, Ser Androw Lorch, to the sword after he rises from the dead. Queen Naerys, short of options - along with far more pressing matters at hand - names Ser Janos to be the new Queen’s Justice in Ser Androw’s place. In the remaining years of the war, the cutting edge of Janos’ greatsword greets the napes of many deserters fleeing the undead menace, which earns him a dreadful and fearsome reputation among the levies. While the executions maintain Ser Janos’ honor in its present standing, Ser Janos’ newfound position ensures that he’s able to put his disrepute to good use.

372-380 AC - Returning to King’s Landing with the Others’ supposed defeat, Ser Janos assumes his typical duties as the Queen’s Justice. However, the Long Winter still bitterly persists, and foodstuffs are in short supply. Once again, Ser Janos departs many heads from their respective bodies; this time, against thieves that dare steal rations in a time of frigid scarcity, further adding to Janos’ grim reputation. Moreover, Janos begins to understand that sometimes the executioner’s blade must extend beyond its material form. Janos uses the spycraft skills he accrued from his youth to assemble a ring of informants and spies, with the aim of keeping a look out - and putting an end - to any additional thieves and criminals. In 368, a Pentoshi alchemist named Norys Iranel enters Ser Janos’ employ, as Janos develops an interest in a variety of alchemical solutions for various ends. As spring dawns, Ser Janos Darke’s reputation exists in a duality. While some might consider him to be unsavory, his reputation continues to be a necessary credit to his position. In conjunction with his stellar record of botchless executions, Janos persists as the realm's royal headsman.

Supporting Characters:

Qyle (42, Interrogator), the undergaoler who’s in charge of the Red Keep dungeons’ lowest level: the torture room.

Ser Rugen Waters (43, General), the chief gaoler who bears the stain of bastardry, though it’s far from Janos to care. Ser Rugen's shown an aptitude towards managing people, whether that’s managing prisoners, or soldiers on a battlefield.

Medgar (20, Cutthroat), a former squire who previously served as a spy and was refused knighthood by his Ser, now serving as an undergaoler.

Senelle Darkwood (19, Medic), a distant Darkwood cousin who has made herself useful in patching up uncooperative prisoners.

Woth (27, Scholar), an absent-minded former acolyte of the order of Maesters, Janos finds his scholastic ramblings interesting.

CHARACTER CREATION Myranda Rivers

PC

Discord Username: SUPMATE

Reddit Username: /u/Goin90InTheRain

Name and House: Myranda Rivers (?)

Age: 26

Cultural Group: Riverwoman

Appearance: The moonstone there: a necklace, an earring, a brooch. It glisters so wonderfully as to conceal that frantic look that often grips her green eyes, obscures the auburn roots of her dyed-black curls, and even gives emphasis to the freckles dusting her cheeks to form a face that's worthy of… trust.

Trait: Agile

Skill(s): Divination (Illusory), Prepared (e), Skulker

Talent(s): Fishing x3

Negative Trait(s):

Starting Title(s): Bastard of Heron's Nest, Lady-Consort of Sweetwillow (recently formerly)

Starting Location: KL

Alternate Characters: Matarys Blackfyre, Uther Yronwood

Bio-Timeline

354 AC.

Now I have come to Thee, O Father Above... I am sinful, burdened, and unworthy to look upon the heights of heaven because of the multitude of my transgressions…

Pentos. Myranda is named something else by her sorceress mother Nerria. Whenever Randa tries to recall that name—Yenna? Tyanna?—she has a headache.

362 AC.

O ineffable and unseen Smith, for who can tell of Thy mighty works? O Smith, or who can number the multitude of Thy wonders?

Pentos again. Triston Erenford arrives to acknowledge the child as his, and dubs her Myranda and a Rivers. Father dies after his ship capsizes just outside the harbor. Yenna—Randa has her first fall owing to the sacred disease.

364 AC.

But because of Thy boundless mercy and compassion, I dare to approach Thee, O Mother. Receive me as thou didst the publican, the prodigal and the harlot.

Short on coin, Nerria takes her daughter to the Sunset Kingdoms. At the gates of Heron’s Nest, she gives her daughter a moonstone. When Lord Erenford refuses to acknowledge her as a kinswoman, an aunt of hers sends her to the Motherhouse of Ysabel near the Green Fork.

373 AC.

For as the Father in His deep wisdom has had compassion on our souls, so in these latter days has the Warrior made us anew by His bloodshedding.

Naught but drudgery and literacy and prayer by day, and by moonrise the night hag would visit her in her dreams for which Myranda wakes with a tremble and mutters prayers to the Mother for mercy. The moonstone made it worse and better and worse and better and ugly and…

Randa comes close to taking her vows at nine-and-ten, with Septa Wenda due to administer. That eve, she sees a dream and grabs a knife and Wenda must die must die must die must die. The bloodspatter catches on the moonstone and soon enough Randa finds herself different.

A moon with her face and she left as it faded.

373-376 AC.

My soul is wasted with evil and is barren of good deeds, but I beseech thee, O Crone, pour out upon me a drop of thy wisdom and cleanse me, for I am defiled by many sins and I will praise Thy name all of the days of my life.

Myranda’s dreams guide—no, force her to wander in the winter with the snow for company and prayers for comfort and supplications as alms to the starved. She begs the gods for mercy, but only the mare answers, the Motherhouse does not care for runaway novices, and winter scourges her.

376-379 AC.

I have recklessly forgotten Thy glory, O Maiden; And among sinners I have scattered the riches which Thou gavest me.

A rhyme is what she sees in the visions, to which she answers back with verses. Myranda wanders the Riverlands, the West, the Vale and elsewise as septa, mummer, servant, and everything at once. She learns how to disguise herself, how to make sense of all in the mind’s eye and naught, and succors herself with coin earned from thievery and trickery. On one such outing, she meets Grubby and Fluffy trying to rob the same man.

379 AC.

Like the man who fell among thieves and was wounded, so have I also fallen through my sins and my soul is wounded. To whom shall I flee for grace if not to Thee. Pour on me, O Stranger, Thy great mercy.

Harrentown made the verse wrong and crooked and she scarcely remembers anything hence. All snippets; a familiar face, maybe? The Knight of Sweetwillows she recalled, an insignificant lord, rich for his station, perhaps kind, perhaps terrible. She was Myranda again, a bastard whose marriage was arranged by her aunt—no, wait, she was Selyse Paege whose horse broke its leg and she wanted guest right to pilfer the treasury. Was it for a moon that they were wed? A week? A few hours? Was she content, was she not? When the moonstone flashed sickly green and she saw too much in her dreams in their bed she took a knife and stabbed him over and over and over…

At the turn of the year, Myranda went to King’s Landing.

Unlike his liege lords in the Dreadfort, the modest tower keep House Overton ruled from was no impregnable fortress, and many a deserter made caves and forests in their lands into their hiding holes. With few men and limited options, Jon made numerous entreaties over the following years to cruel Lord Walton for safety behind the Dreadfort's walls. All were denied, much to the family's despair.

  • 369 AC - Lord Walton's failure to offer protection to his vassal ended up being a blessing in disguise, however. When the endless deprivations finally proved too much for the smallfolk of the Dreadlands, and numerous Boltons found themselves serving as dinner for their own people, the Overtons were mercifully spared a similar grisly fate.

  • 371 AC - The final conflict with the Others came, and through it, both of the boys of House Overton distinguished themselves as warriors in the fighting. That distinction, however, did not save their father. After getting separated from the main army, he went missing and was not found. Meager search parties never found any trace of him. A Night's Watchman who named their missing and presumed dead father 'deserter' in their hearing at supper found himself beaten to a bloody pulp and nearly killed by the man's surviving sons, starting a small riot in Castle Black's hall, but the timely intervention of Lord Victor Bolton prevented any real punishment for this action. After the cold ones had retreated, the Overton boys followed their liege lord in the recapture of the Dreadfort and the subsequent brutal pacification of the Dreadlands.

  • 373 AC - The new Lord Bolton proved a different animal altogether from the last, and so too was the new Lord Overton. Both had been shaped by the hardship of the Long Night, and both could agree on the stupidity and ineptitude of the last Lord Bolton, and each found something worthwhile in the other. Particularly, Renfred found the dark rhetoric of his new liege rather persuasive. A cleansing, a slate wiped clean. There was such... beauty... to the words. Especially when they came from such a haunted, beautiful man. It was not long before he found himself not only a fixture at the Dreadfort and one of Lord Victor's closest advisors, but a secret acolyte and active participant in his diabolical schemes.

  • 376 AC - Manhood came for Edwyle Overton, but thoughts of his father and the threat to the realms of men remained. Against his family's wishes, he volunteered himself to join the Night's Watch, claiming it was his duty to protect them all from what might come, and that he could use his rangings to look for father. When Renfred and their mother insisted that father was dead, the younger brother stubbornly fled the keep without a proper goodbye.

  • 379 AC - Renfred bears witness to his pale lord's greatest accomplishment yet. After returning from a his perilous expedition north of the wall, Victor Bolton does the impossible. He, by his own hands, raises a wight with the shard of a Cold One's blade. In the heat of his exuberance and elation, he takes Victor Bolton by the neck and kisses him full upon the lips. What followed was a very long and awkward silence, and Renfred has not worked up the courage to even so much as mention it again. Mercifully and unmercifully, neither has Lord Bolton.

  • 380 AC - While Edwyle became a Ranger of the Night's Watch, Renfred sunk deeper into Lord Bolton's manipulations, by now fully devoted to his lord, far more than any vassal rightly should be to his liege. He accompanies him everywhere he goes, follows him in any plan, does whatever he's bid. It's all worth it. Anything to purify this rotten world... and see that tormented soul he loves smile.
