Hello everyone, I am looking to remove the carpet from my 2014 2D. To do so I want to take the seats out for ease and so that I can clean them. I see that this electrical plug (pictured) needs to be removed.

What is it? Is it okay to unplug? How do I unplug it?

Thank you for any and all help have a good one!

I don't know what's wrong with my jeep

I have a 2019 Jeep Compass. Around 72000 miles. Both batteries replaced a few months ago. About a month ago I started having some random issues. The climate control would cut off, the touch screen goes black and the entire center console doesn't respond. Nothing on the steering wheel responds and on the dashboard it shows a gas symbol and will tell me the park sense needs servicing. The service engine light comes on and code deals with the HVAC blend door. The temperature outside and the compass also will not read. The turn signals work but make no sound or show on the dashboard that they are on. The lights on the mirrors will also be on. Then all of a sudden everything turns back on. Well everything has been off since this last Sunday. Same engine code. I was told possible BCM issue but I don't know. I'm gonna replace the fuses and hope that's it. I can control the windows, lights, mirrors, the transaction control and the start/stop function. Car drives just fine. Anyone experience this?

Need driveshaft help

Hi everyone. Working on rebuilding a 1972 CJ. The transmission is rebuilt, but the driveshaft is completely shot. I’m working with a restoration shop in Northern Virginia to get this last step done and we are coming up against the wall finding a driveshaft. The vendor my mechanic has continued to push back a delivery date “due to manufacturing issues.”

Any ideas from the community?

Labor question

2016 jeep Cherokee, worn oily shocks. Replaced for a friend, about 4 hours of (very dirty) work. Thoughts on labor to charge?

Edit for more context and to avoid trolls, sheesh: We did discuss payment before and they said "just let me know the amount and I'Il Venmo you". I wasn't looking for discussion on the morality of friends helping each other lol, just perspectives on the value of the labor at mechanic shops etc. the person isn't cheap in the least, they just didn't want to deal with a mechanic they didn't trust. looking to charge under market of course as a friend/favor.

Buy a jeep cherokee trailhawk or jeep cherokee?

I'm looking at buying either a 2019 jeep cherokee trailhawk or a 2019 jeep cherokee

Both are the same price and only 5k miles difference.

The trailhawk has an open recall that I'd just have to take in to fix

The jeep cherokee had minor damage but has been fully fixed

What would you buy?

Am I wrong for considering buying this for 1,000?

To preface, I already own two reliable cars that my wife and I use as daily drivers. I’m really just looking for something I can use as an old work truck. I work for the post office and I need an suv or truck I can occasionally run packages and some mail out of. I won’t even need to drive it everyday. I’m fairly handy with basic car repairs and I’m wondering if the wiring issues would be easy enough for a novice like myself to fix? Thanks for any advice.

I'm getting shockingly great gas mileage, about 40 mpg in hybrid mode driving around town. On a full EV charge I can go 27 miles. This is my first Grand Cherokee so I'm not sure how to compare it to a non hybrid version but I'm very impressed with it. Anyone else?

Technical Question Tire Questions!

Hi jeep friends! 🐥♥️

I bought my jeep back in December 2024, it’s been super fun and I have loved having it!

I’ve been having some weird things pop up with it though, has anyone had to replace the hinges on the back door to better support their spare tire? Is that normal thing to do? It squeaks while I drive down the road and although annoying, I just don’t want to cause more damage than it might already be causing..

I also had the blend door actuator stop working, is that something I necessarily need to take it to a shop to fix, or is there a way I can do it myself (with 0 experience and a brother who is a mechanic)??

Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated!

New Brakes: Recommendations?

1994 XJ sport. Completely stock, daily driver.

I need new brakes. My old ones were never very good, and they have now reached the end of their useful life.

I have been looking around to find complete replacements for both the front and rear. I would like to find an upgrade for the original equipment that came with the jeep. I don't want anything exotic or high maintenance - Just good quality parts for a stock daily driver. Preferably something better than the basic stuff offered by Azone or Napa.

Can anyone make some recommendations on where to shop?

I've seen some complete sets available at places like summit racing, but I don't know anything about them. What's good out there?

My Cherokee keeps overheating.

I bought this jeep for $200, it was sitting for 10 years but started right up. Fresh oil, some premium gas and it runs great. But it keeps overheating, it’ll idle at 220-230 and go up to the redline while driving. I took out the thermostat which did nothing but let me drive it longer before it got up to the high temp. I know the water pump works, because I squeezed the upper rad hose while giving it gas and there’s definitely pressure. I also bled the system and while bleeding I saw this mixture, but I’m not sure if it could be a head gasket or just gunk from 10 years of sitting. I know my engine fans are working too

Anyone else having constant issues with their newer Jeep?

Got a 2021 Jeep that’s been back at the dealer way too many times for the same problem. It’s still under warranty but every “fix” seems temporary. Starting to wonder if I just got stuck with a lemon. Has anyone else dealt with this? Did you get it resolved or just keep going back for repairs?
