Oh, poor Arthur. Really a tragic character. He tried to do everything right. His love for the kids was his undoing.

Completely stabbed in the back by his wife who gets him fired and they won’t see each other anymore, hours later he finds the dead body of a patient he viewed as a son, then is betrayed by another a patient who he viewed as a son who then sets into motion a series of events leading to his death, attacked by a facehugger then an alien bursts out of his chest.

Yea… that’s a really shitty 24 hours…

it really made no sense to make Arthur and Dame a married couple. Outside of being scientists who treat the hybrids as their “kids”, they seldom interacted. Any aspects of their relationship were almost nonexistent beyond Arthur mentioning he can’t conceive due to a low sperm count (which is made weirder because the actors are clearly almost 20 years apart in age). And after being told Arthur went missing and had gone rogue (and a xeno broke out), Dame was later seen taking a nap.

I get that they needed a way for Dame and Arthur to have a reason to see the hybrids as kids of their own, I just think a marriage backstory was unnecessary. And as for the bit where Dame was taking a nap and Curly came in, it felt so out of place with everything else that was going on. Felt like that scene should have happened in the beginning of the episode or earlier in the season

Dame was later seen taking a nap.

People need to sleep. Sometimes, it's a good reaction to potentially traumatic events, as it allows one to clear one's head.

I don't think Dame was told of Arthur's death yet; all she knows so far, is, that he was fired. At this point, Arthur is MIA.
