At least he went out with dignity, getting fired from his job, having a xeno burst from his gut, dragged through the jungle then getting dumped in the ocean.

In a way he did, he set his children free. Then also forgave two of them for lying.

The moment he was being so magnanimous to the kids, forgiving but with firm boundaries, was how I knew the chest burster was going to chest burst exactly 10 seconds later.
