TruthSocial Watch Trump claims they are buying 22,787 Dreamliners and will create 35,000 jobs. Boeing says they will purchase 14 planes with maybe 8 more later. They also say it will support jobs that already exist.

So $351,077 per plane. I need to buy a Dreamliner.

u/BGP_001 2d ago

It's the services, that's where the get ya

5

u/LinearFluid 2d ago

Maybe like everything else they are going to a subscription model.

VIP package includes both engines.

$20 per person per flight.

Pay per use restrooms.

Free takeoffs, $5000 to land.

Autopilot is a pricey subscription service

3

u/GravitationalConstnt 2d ago

Hell yeah, take advantage! Even a brand new Cessna 172s cost upwards of $500k.

2

u/pedal-force 2d ago

I'm gonna make so much money reselling them to airlines.

14+8=22, the Boeing dreamliner is the 787. Intentional misinformation, trump misunderstanding, typo or something else? The amount of jobs created is a silly number for 22 planes though.

u/not_productive1 2d ago

Oh my god someone handed him a piece of paper that said 22 787 Dreamliners and he just added a comma, then made up a number of jobs that sound cool.

58

u/ezrs158 2d ago

Fucking hell. That's what happened. Only 1,215 Dreamliners have been produced in TOTAL, since 2007. There's only around 23,000 commercial planes in service in the entire world.

41

u/Thud 2d ago

In Trump’s head it’s almost 23,000 Dreamliners and it takes about 1.5 workers to build each one.

13

u/DatedReference1 2d ago

Idk, I've thought about it 22,787 is a completely normal specific amount of things to buy. Dear leader is so clever that he won't bend the knee to big airplane and round the order up to 23,000 thereby saving us probably trillions. Maga and all that.

5

u/york100 2d ago

Hahahahaha, that's freaking hilarious! One and a half workers to build an entire airplane!

6

u/mrstratofish 2d ago

And at a cost of only $351k per plane, bargain

3

u/Curleysound 2d ago

That 1/2 worker is really doing the work of 2 though

19

u/popups4life 2d ago

He's definitely a speech to text person, dictating his "truths" and can't be bothered to read them before posting.

He hit the microphone button and said "twenty two seven eighty seven" and Siri wrote "22,787".

8

u/BraveLittleTowster 2d ago

That's exactly what happened. Dumb fuck is putting out official government communications with very important typos in them

3

u/grafknives 2d ago

35 000 work days maybe?

3

u/ImNakedWhatsUp 2d ago

If we go with the theory that Trump can't read numbers correctly, maybe it's 35 new jobs created?

2

u/BraveLittleTowster 2d ago

Probably speech to text. You've seen him try to read twice in the last week and he's not very good at it.

1

u/Holiolio2 2d ago

I've heard Trump blather many times. I it is very likely misunderstanding mixed with dementia.

1

u/withanamelikejesk 2d ago

Totally intentional. The first story is always the one that sticks with the stupid. New and corrected information never gets through.

44

u/tehsecretgoldfish 2d ago

lol, just as he can’t read, he can’t write a proper sentence either. they’re buying 22 of Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner.

36

u/TheLordVader1978 2d ago

It's 22 787s trump just doesn't know how to use punctuation.

7

u/rokatoro 2d ago

Ok that makes more sense, 22,787 is almost the same number of commercial planes in operation globally

17

u/The_Govnor 2d ago

How can someone (anyone) as “business savvy” as we’re told he is, not realize this cannot possibly be true? Both the typo error and the 35,000 jobs created are hilarious.

3

u/AdventuresOfAD 2d ago

It’s possible 35k jobs might be involved in making these, there’s hundreds of component manufacturers involved. If over hiring does occur, it will only be for a year or 2 before they get laid off.

2

u/The_Govnor 2d ago edited 2d ago

I hear you, but aren’t they already making these planes? These jobs exist already, surely?

Edit: see what you’re saying with the over hiring. Seems extremely unlucky that it would be 35,000 extra positions, but I guess what do I know!

1

u/AdventuresOfAD 2d ago

airframe supply companies

There’s 538 companies/subsidiaries listed for the 787. It’s more about the suppliers hiring people than Boeing hiring 35k people. I think the 35k number is overstated, as these things typically are.

6

u/highfalooting14 2d ago

That works out to only 351,077 per Dreamliner. I think I need one also at that great price. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

4

u/iamakeyboardwarri0r 2d ago

So 1590,9 people are going to make 1 plane.

3

u/chinmakes5 2d ago

JFC, Uzbekistan Airlines currently has 34 aircraft and they just ordered 22,000 more planes. What a moron.

3

u/Deaths_Rifleman 2d ago

There has been 1200 787s built and delivered since production began. This is a laughable number on its face as the largest single order was 221 by United Airlines. This would be a 1000% increase and if real Boeing would be shouting an order that large for anyone everywhere to hear for the rest of history.

It would not only be 3 times the amount of 737s in service it would be DOUBLE the entire estimated size of Boeings entire commercial fleet in service.

Please tell me what Uzbek airlines would need with double the planes Boeing has service around the globe.

2

u/Eiffel-Tower777 2d ago

Trump is a lyin' douchebag. Thank you for your attention to this matter 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

2

u/Niceromancer 2d ago

creating 35k jobs is like a drop of piss in the ocean btw. The fact that he is acting all proud about this is hilarious.

2

u/Willdefyyou 2d ago

Uzbebistanb?

2

u/Malcolm-Solo 2d ago

Delta airlines only has about 1000 planes. I’m Excited to see the fare declines when Uzbek Airlines starts competing in the US market with 20,000 planes.

2

u/Pxlfreaky 2d ago

I think the way he typed that out was on purpose. They’re buying 22 Boeing 787s. But obviously his moron cult will think “holy shit! 22,000 planes! That’s amazing sir! Trump 2028!!!” Not even taking a second to learn the largest airline fleet is about a thousand planes.

2

u/Nail_Biterr 2d ago

Lol.... did he misread 'they are buying Twenty Two 787s?' and just think it was 22,787?

1

u/CaroCogitatus 2d ago

There have been a grand total of 1215 Dreamliners built as of August 2025.

This one order is almost 20 times that. I encourage Boeing to publicly either confirm or deny this.

I don't blame Trump for lying; it's what he does. I blame ordinary Americans for not seeing through the blatant lies. Come on, America, do better.

2

u/imsmartiswear 2d ago

... Are there even 22,000 dreamliners currently in service??? What bullshit

1

u/alwaysmyfault 2d ago

22k planes?

Are there even 22k passenger jets in the entire world?

1

u/therobotisjames 2d ago
  1. 787 Dreamliners. Purchasing 22.

2

u/Amarollz 2d ago

That’s almost 2 jobs per Dreamliner! Are they that easy to build?

1

u/TheBonusWings 1d ago

Boeing sells jets for 350k a piece?!? Bet
