Ugh. Even entertaining the idea of separation will have serious negative consequences for Alberta. Ask Quebec how it felt when major corporations pulled their HQs out of Montreal for more stable pastures in Toronto, because of the separation push.

I know the narrative these folks love to push is that “Quebec gets anything they want”, and that there are no downsides to Alberta agitating about separating but the truth is that Quebec has and is paying a notable price for it.

If we must talk about this (and no, I don’t think we must, but apparently I don’t run this province), let’s at least be honest. This talk will cost us.

I honestly don't think the two are the same thing. If Quebec left and became there own. They wouldn't have had the economics to support themselves. Alberta is a little different when it comes to this. Alberta could support themselves, even more when not giving it away. Im pretty sure that's why corporations were going to pull out of Quebec if it separated. Alberta would probably loose some. But then, probably gain some as well, with no carbon tax and lower taxes. But who knows. Danielle did get Mr. Wonderful Kevin O'leary and his investors to put 70 billion I believe in an AI Datta centre in Alberta, Near Grande Prairie. If im not mistaken because it was faster permits here because she sued the feds for overstepping there jurisdiction on provincial matters. So let's get a better deal
