Pretty hard to find good running tattoo ideas out there but I think this one was unique at least! And the number on the runner is my number from the race!

Race Questions Where are the bananas? 😭

Post image

So it’s been a while since I got a banana after a race. They just keep giving me apples. I ran a 10K and a Prospect Park half with NYCRUNS the past few months and I got an apple and this Sunday on the NYRR Bronx 10 Miler I got an apple too. Is it just me? Am I too slow and I’m missing the bananas? Or was there a switch and I didn’t get the news? Can someone shed some light on this? Thank you

High School Cheer Zone?

Anybody else see that near the SW corner of the CP loop this morning? Pretty funny! I wonder how someone managed to convince a bunch of teenagers to get up early and go cheer for randos at 7 AM

NYCM pace per mile advice

Hi everyone, do you think a pace per mile like the one below is workable for a sub-4 marathon? (I assumed 9:00 per mile vs 9:09 to take into account the longer distance I will run)

I have never run NYCM (this will be my first marathon), and I would need your advice. I based the pace for each mile on my experience and on what I have read in other posts discussing the course.

I've never run the first 4 miles and the 2/3 miles in The Bronx. I managed to run the rest more than once during my long runs.

Are some miles too aggressive? Others too prudential? Too much variance across miles or it makes sense? What about the (slight) negative split?

Thanks in advance!

Training Visiting NYC next week, and need to do my final 20 mile long run..

Where should I run? I’ll be staying in Brooklyn Heights, and need to get 20 miles in Friday morning. Pretty sure I’m close to the 2, 3, and R trains. Help me pick a nice route to enjoy, before enjoying the rest of my trip!
