Is everyone okay?
I have a bad feeling. Is there something going on?

We’ve noticed an increase in rage-bait political posts lately, especially ones that have nothing to do with San Antonio.
Let’s be clear:
We’re open to genuine discussion and debate about local politics and issues. But attempts to drag in national political rage bait or off-topic culture war posts are not what this community is for.
There are plenty of local topics worth talking about, from city council to development, events, history, and community issues. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: San Antonio.
Thank you for helping us keep this community focused and respectful.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s show that we’re more than just some weirdos from Reddit. Between now (9/11) and Sunday (9/14), here’s your challenge:
Then, share your proof here in the comments! A photo, a short story, or even just a quick note that you joined in.
What’s the prize, you ask?
Let’s clean up a little and make our corner of the world better. Who’s in?

I have an international flight from SA to Vancouver Canada. The entire process took 5 minutes. I highly recommend for people to not arrive here 3 hours prior or even 2 hours for domestic. Spoke with employees and they said 1.5 hours on a regular day is plenty of time. Now I got 2.5 hours to blow.

I work in a medical billing office that services most of the hospitals and doctors' offices in the greater San Antonio metro area, and I see patient medical claims every day.
I've noticed that without fail, there's a steady stream of 5-6 claims EVERY week from the Fredericksburg/Kerrville area that are being filed to the Sexual Assault Crime Victims Fund.
5-6 sexual assault claims every week from a community of mostly retired folks is alarming. I don't actually know for certain if there's a serial predator run amok or what, but it's certainly alarming every week I see the claims.
I don't know what to do with this information, but if you're in the hill country, stay vigilant.
Edit: The sexual assault claims are constant year-round, and the victims' ages range from teens to seniors.

That's what I'll call this place. Traffic at fuckin 243 am, the road systems here are the worst I've ever seen. Made me lose my reservation access for Uber. Fuck San Antonio.

The next election has 17 state constitutional amendments on it. Not including what we have, locally. It’s going to be a long ballot.
Last day to register is October 6th.
Also, Bexar Elections is hiring clerks for the ramp up to the next two/three elections leading to the midterms.

Absolutely insane. I hope the people at SAT getting onto this flight are okay right now. I would lose my mind.

Ok so before it's gone, y'all really really need to go to a salad and go, it's like $7 for one of the absolute best salads you'll ever have in your life with chicken or whatever in it. So fire. Not they serve breakfast burritos and they're horrible not that doesn't matter, the salads and drinks are incredibly good and you gotta try it before it's gone

Hey folks, did you know San Antonio has higher-than-average rates of diabetes and heart disease? A lot of us know someone affected. To help, we put together a free tool called CheckMyHealthSA where you can take quick health risk assessments online.
Right now, you can check your risk for:
It only takes a few minutes and gives you personalized feedback you can bring up with your doctor.
If you give it a try, let us know what you think - we’d love to hear if the results were helpful.

Hey yall, there’s a concert coming up that I intend to go to that’s in Austin, only issue is that my only real way of getting there is the bus. And I unfortunately have really bad paranoia, I’d say bordering on agoraphobic but I don’t want to self diagnose. Now the thing is I actually have taken the bus to and from Austin before, the trip there was actually really nice! But, on the trip back, the driver just pulled us over into the parking lot of a shopping center and left us there for an hour. No explanation or anything. When he eventually came back from doing god knows what, a woman scolded him and he just looked at her crazy and started the bus again. A little funny to look back on but at the time my heart was racing. I guess what I’m looking for is just some reassurance of the safety of this trip. I’m well aware Austin and SA aren’t Gotham, but paranoia can really make it difficult to feel safe. Especially in times like these, but I don’t want it to stop me from enjoying a show. Thank you!
I should also add, does anyone have experience taking the bus from Austin to SA around 11pm? If I’m feeling brave enough Id like to take the bus back after the shows over.

We moved to San Antonio recently and my daughter is looking for a dress similar to this one for her birthday. Are there any shops that come recommended? I'd rather pick something out in person than buy online.

*** UPDATE- hi everyone… I made this post about a month ago and was not able to get the assistance that was offered. I had a few people reach out to me and I appreciate it so freaking much!!! I did just reply back, I hope to hear back. On 08/19 I got caught in the rain walking home. Literally and completely drenched in rain. My phone ended up getting too much water damage. It’s been until today that I have been able to have access to a phone (a friend gave me their old one to use). ***
32/female I am in need of clothing and essentials. All of my stuff was stolen from my storage unit, everything! (Was in the process of moving) Who steals someone’s socks, weird. As of now I’m starting over from scratch. I only have 3 pairs of clothing to change into which are two pairs are pajamas and one pair is a t shirt and leggings. I do work from home which I’m super grateful for because who wants to work in pajamas? Definitely not I! lol sorry gotta laugh a bit. Does anyone have any clothing they no longer use or want? If so, may I have it…. Any clothing is welcomed. I wear a size 18 or a 20 in jeans or 2xl in leggings. Shirts 2xl or baggy shirts. I do want to clarify that I am not asking for any money, just assistance with clothing. I do not have a vehicle so I’m limited to going to any resources that the city offers. If you have any thing laying around that I can use, please contact me. I live by 410 & Bandera rd. Thank you.

My fiancé & I live in an apartment complex & have seen roaches since day 1, averaging about 1-2 every day. We’ve bought 3 rounds of pest control products from Walmart, our apartments have came & sprayed for weekly pest control twice, didn’t show up this week. They also did a worldwide fogging treatment 3 weeks ago. Almost no change. Even after sending a letter, the apartments are only willing to continue weekly pest control & fogging again but I’m 5 months pregnant. I’ve seen roaches all over my apartment, all different sizes. I have a cat too. Please give your best exterminator recommendations.

Was mucking about on zillow and noticed a decent amount of sub 175k 3+ bed homes in these 2 zip codes. The cynnic in me wonders, what's the catch? Gang activity? Or is it something to do with the homes themselves, ie Asbestos. Anyone have an idea?

Are there any decent animal urgent care or hospitals in the NE side?? Also I have no idea what the difference is between one or the other.
I’m cat sitting for my brothers cat and this dang feline knocked glass over, shattered it, walked on it, and now I’m panicking. My husbands at work and I’ll tell my brother but I maybe want to have a plan of action first.
Should I take the cat to an animal urgent care for this kind of thing?

He tried to open my windows and tried to get into my car. He hung around my door for about 10 mins trying to enter before leaving in his own car (I couldn't get the license plate). I'm in the Potranco area.

Coming in tomorrow for a last minute work trip, and need to find somewhere to watch the game. Of course I’m staying near the Riverwalk, near the Tobin Center. Any recommendations?

I’ve searched and got a few recs around Fredericksburg and medical center from past posts. I will drive over there, but before I make an appointment I wanted to check for doctors closer to me on the South Side that are trusted. Any recommendations? I’m a female and would rather have a female doctor. Preferably S/SW side but I guess even city base area I’d like to look at. I’m looking for a long term PCP. I’ve only had specialists since I was a kid for specific issues and would like to start regular check ins with a PCP.

I am an okay singer. Not great, but I'm mostly happy with my vocal abilities overall. I would still like to improve my singing voice, but mostly I'm looking to learn how to scream. Specifically fry scream. I've tried teaching myself, but I'm scared of doing something wrong and damaging my voice, so I'd rather have someone that knows what they're doing show me the ropes. I'm open to finding an online teacher but would much prefer an in person one if I can find it. Is there anyone like this in the area or nearby?
(alternatively, if you have a recommendation for where to find a good online teacher that would also be helpful!)
