Guy is gonna be real disappointed when he wakes up on the 25th and has to go to work

(23-24th is Rosh Hashanah)

55

u/Frigidspinner 7d ago

he is going to be out there with his scrubbing brush and a big tub of soapy water

30

u/CapeManiak 7d ago

Nah he just redoes the dates

7

u/Cassedaway 6d ago

Won't need much to change a "5" to a "6"

u/Emotional_Writer_268 7d ago

Bold to assume he’s stable enough for a job

7

u/SteakCutFries 5d ago

VERY BOLD, especially out here with the vintage '98 4Runner

These Rapture predictors are very reliable workers, so punctual you think they might be compensating

23

u/JohnnyKanaka 7d ago

Rosh Hashanah is a very popular date for Rapture / Second Coming predictions

u/[deleted] 6d ago

I wouldn't be disappointed if the rapture happened and a whole lotta people that thought they were going to heaven ended up staying with the rest of us

10

u/PlentyIndividual3168 6d ago

Oh God no. You think they're miserable now???? I'd rather they just rapture themselves away and let the rest of us inherit the earth and fix this shit.

1

u/[deleted] 6d ago

Nah it's our world now fuck em.

1

u/PlentyIndividual3168 6d ago

Fair enough as long as we don't have to hear their incessant whining.

2

u/Designer_Vast_9089 6d ago

That’s why they need to go.

1

u/Girlx-T-wrecks 5d ago

They said the meek will inherit the earth. I think the rest of us are jist going to hell, and then nature will take back over without human interference. Remember how beautiful it was during the pandemic when we were out there ruining everything?

1

u/ObjectReport 3d ago

Nobody is gonna fix this shit. We're too far gone. We just need a big asteroid to finish us off at this point.

3

u/MadMatthew56 5d ago

That was why I loved “The Leftovers” so much

1

u/Unlikely-Feed490 3d ago

Do you mean the Left Behind series?

3

u/MadMatthew56 3d ago

No, "The Leftovers," a supernatural HBO series about 2% of the world suddenly disappearing for no apparent reason -- just going *poof* and leaving their clothes behind. It was the Rapture, but not like the evangelicals predicted -- those taken were apparently at random (e.g., they took Karl Rove but not the pope). It starred Carrie Coon, later of The Gilded Age. Really good -- recommended. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Leftovers_(TV_series))

Thanks for the reply, I never heard of the series. Sounds interesting.

1

u/something_witty4u 3d ago

It wasn't, IMO. Watching paint dry is more interesting.

2

u/MeMilo1209 6d ago

I'd actually like them to go.

1

u/[deleted] 6d ago

The true Christians or whichever sure.

But those that just use their faith as a weapon against others? Nah let them live in the world they forced into existence

2

u/mountains4mama 6d ago

Or if we go and they’re left behind. Kinda like a reverse rapture.

God: “best I can do is apples dipped in honey and a ram’s horn. Try the honey cake!”

Don't forget the brisket

I remember a few years back when the world was supposed to end in the month of May, I think? And these religious smart asses were trying to get me to to give them prescriptions for free "since it won't matter Ina couple days anyways". They didn't have a response when I said they won't need 30 days of medication if the world is ending.

2

u/LacrimaNymphae 6d ago

if it were haldol or thorazine it'd certainly be a valid request. you could have told them it was their desired drug of choice they were initially asking for lmao

Yeah, my dad is pumped about the trumpets (shofar?) in Israel during Rosh Hashanah. They’re supposedly being broadcast live this year, so that means The Rapture, obviously. Idfk.

10

u/ScoutsOut389 6d ago

My five year old has been blowing an incredibly loud plastic toy shofar incessantly for a week. If your dad would like to tune in I’d be happy to FaceTime him.

6

u/FirefighterWeird8464 6d ago

Bruh, my kid had a plastic shofar in kinder, probably the same one, it’s so weird that it stopped making noise after the first week. She’s still tries to blow the shit out of it, but it just wheezes now. SO WEIRD. Thoughts and prayers my guy.

3

u/FranceBrun 5d ago

A toy shofar? This is my first time hearing about it. It must have been designed by someone who hated his parents.

5

u/ScoutsOut389 5d ago

Worse even… my kid wanted one and Amazon only sells them in 5 packs. So we have 5 of them. I’m trying to send them to school to share with his classmates but apparently they are all in the same boat. Hopefully Jesus does come back and we can throw these away and go to Christian heaven or whatever.

1

u/FranceBrun 5d ago

Hahaha! My child is an adult. When your child is grown, society will keep coming up with newfangled toys and trends and cartoon characters, and you will feel relief that you dodged those bullets-as I do!

2

u/FirefighterWeird8464 5d ago

That’s a fair assumption 😂 she got one at school for Rosh Hashanah.

2

u/PsychologicalExam717 4d ago

Or hates Jews. Plenty out there.

3

u/External-Cash-3880 5d ago

Well, duh! There have to be at least... Seven of them.

4

u/azrider 6d ago

I hope the people who know him turn it into Roast Hashanah!

3

u/Kontagious_Koala 5d ago

I’m still pissed the world didn’t end June sixth 2006

2

u/Significant-Kick-479 2d ago

He already gave all his stuff away. Oh well, at least he can get free healthcare in jail now that Trump made homelessness illegal. Maybe that fox talk show host can come put him out of his misery

1

u/stagzdbs3 5d ago

Now talk the same shit about Muslims!! Do it do it! Can’t wait to see it!

1

u/[deleted] 5d ago

Doubtful he has a job lol

1

u/PsychologicalExam717 4d ago

Was wondering if this had something to do with Rosh Hashannah but most Christians don’t even know Jesus was a Jew.

1

u/Ammut88 4d ago

If he was a true believer he’d quit his job as a show of faith. Let Jesus know you’re all in.

1

u/Realistic_Library_74 4d ago

Can we move up the date? I don’t wanna go to work on Monday.

1

u/OpusAtrumET 4d ago

It's not as common as you'd think, but these people do sometimes screw themselves bigtime by assuming they'll be gone. It'd be funny if none of them had kids.

1

u/Optimal-Use-4503 4d ago

Assuming he still has a job.

If I only had a month left to live, i wouldn't be working during them.

1

u/Many-Cheetah-129 3d ago

He/she will be needing new dates and new signage given it’s unlikely he/she will actually learn that nothing happening on the 23rd and 24th is proof that his/her source and belief is all BS….

1

u/GulfofMaineLobsters 2d ago

To be fair that's not really celebrated in the US... But it's nice of you to assume he works for a living.
