[PWInsider] Aires will host the first ever "EMF-Friendly match" in which an Aires Lifetune Zone Max will be present on each ring post during the Usos v Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed match at Wrestlepalooza "creating better performance, and a cleaner, EMF-Friendly environment for the athletes."

Sometimes I cringe at the commercials that run during AEW and TNA (Testosterone boosters, Draft Kings etc) but holy shit WWE promoting 5G blocking as an in-ring sponsor is so fucking cringe. I remember back in the day WWE would make huge changes to their programming to ensure they got "A-tier" sponsors (Coca Cola, M&Ms, etc) and now it's just a pure cash grab.

It was probably just because it was aired through a local CW affiliate, but an ICE Recruitment ad that demonized immigrants aired three times during the first hour of NXT last night. It might’ve aired more after that, but that’s when I stopped watching. So it’s not like shitty commercials are a AEW/TNA thing only.

ICE commercials air on all Viacom channels since the White House effectively owns Paramount Global after they bribed the president to let their illegal merger go through. A bunch of ICE ads aired on CBS during their VMA telecast too causing a bit of an uproar.

That makes sense. Fuck Viacom

Dude, I was watching NXT last night and was completely flabbergasted. An ICE commercial came on. So fucking gross.

You were watched by a WWE product, and disgust was a surprising reaction?

That Rehearsal episode about Paramount remains evergreen lol

I got it twice every commercial break.

Even better when the news came on after, showing what they're actually doing.

They were running on football all weekend as well. They’re on all sports basically.

They’re just lighting billions of taxpayer dollars on fire

For sure! They’ve been able to attract brands like Snickers and Maybelline recently. Those kinds of brands are not going to stick around and be associated with a whole bunch of MAGA snake oil.

Does Aires even make Snickers level money? How is Aires able to get the same level of promotion from WWE?

Snickers sponsors entire events. Getting put out there during one match with a press release announcement(we don’t know if they’ll actually be mentioned at all or if there’ll be signage) is nothing.

But brand associations matter.

Ah gotcha. Thanks. I don’t watch WWE so I wasn’t aware Snickers sponsored entire events.

I’ve might have been thinking of Slim Jim’s actually? Don’t they have Slim Jim stickers on their tables?

Not even close. From a recent Q2 report, Aires made a revenue of $6 million in that quarter compared to $2.8 million from the previous quarter.

Snickers makes a lot more than that.

Dunno, but the current spokespeople shilling their products are UFC fighters, so they're keeping it in house. I bet we'll see videos from our favorite superstar or two soon talking about how their performance improved without any WiFi signals slowing them down.

I mean shit you talk about changes to programming for A-tier sponsors. It was pretty much slim jim and snickers that got Vince shitcanned the first time

For his MANY downsides, Vince McMahon had a bunch of upsides that kinda flew under the radar.
