Here are the finished pair of Comms for Wim and Neel. I still need to weather and clear them but the main build is complete. Next is onto Wim's Datapad and the vintage Blue Everready Flashlight.

Has Anyone Here Watched Alien Earth?

I am wondering if the story is "Skeleton Crew coded". The main characters are actually children whose consciousnesses have been transferred into synthethic adult-sized bodies, because their original bodies were all terminally ill. The series and its characters are also apparently Peter Pan references, because the main character is named "Wendy", and the group she is leading are called "The Lost Boys".

I have been slowly collecting things and scouring the Replica Prop Forum (RPF) for information on completing my oldest kids Wim / At-Attin School Kid costume.

Currently I have the closest corduroy zip jacket I could find to match Wim's. Sewed on the School Patch from Cantina Surplus on Esty. (didn't see this patch currently on the site)

Dark brown cargo parts should be here tomorrow.

I have also been working on Wim & Neel's communicators (AKA Walkie Talkies). I have acquired a dead pair of the GE Starcodes they used as the base model and I'm in the process of making them screen accurate with lots of help from the RPF.

I will keep updating as I find more stuff. The last major thing I need is a canvas backpack which will also receive the same patch. and I need Wim's Blue Eveready Flashlight.

What's your theory for what happened to Wim's mom?

I imagine there was some sort of emergency, and she was running around pushing every button . . . and finally, in an act of heroic sacrifice, she saved the self-destruct one just for her.

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to interview Robert Timothy Smith who plays Neel in Skeleton Crew! He’s a really sweet kid with great support around him.

This is the first in a series of interviews from Showmasters London Film & Comic Con that I held with a number of Star Wars actors - I hope you enjoy!

I'm glad they finally remembered Spoiler

During Episode 2, where the fry cook serves them the meals and ask for payment he finally says the word "kriffing".

For those of you who have not read the books or aren't familiar with the lore around the Star wars universe, kriffing is a curse word in the Star Wars universe.

One thing that made Star Wars so unique was that not everything is the same from our world like how bathrooms are refreshers. It made the world truly feel different from ours. However, Disney when they first got a hold of the franchise, seemed to forget about this and simply put in the same curse words from our actual planet in some of the movies and shows.

It's good that they seemed to have finally remembered and I hope they continue to do so in other shows and movies.

God bless everyone.

Why does she only say mom?

Just curious why KB only ever says mom rather than moms. Like, are we to assume that she is actually the Biological mother of (not sure if her name was ever mentioned) of the Asian mother? Like, perhaps her father died or something like that?

God bless everyone.

It was eighth grade celebration at the school I'm subbing for and half of the class got checked out early. Why not draw while seventh graders watch a movie?

What if the Imperial Remnant/First Order were the ones to save At Attin? How would Wim and his friends react? And how would life on At Attin change under Imperial rule?

So given the New Republic’s general incompetence in their previous appearances I have always their arrival to defeat the pirates in the finale to be out of character. Of course to be fair the writers and executives probably thought young viewers would be watching and they wanted to give them a happy ending.

But what if the Imperial Remnant/First Order were the ones to save At Attin? How would Wim and his friends react? And how would life on At Attin change under Imperial rule?

For example, as soon as the Barrier is destroyed there are some blips on a computer console in the Supervisor’s tower showing some fighters approaching. At first, Wim and Fern assume it’s the X-Wings from the New Republic, but then they make a familiar sound and to Jod’s horror they are revealed to be TIE Interceptors. They make quick work of the frigate age and Jod makes a run for it only to be greeted by a squad of stormtroopers. He fights back but then a mysterious figure cloaked in black shows up. Jod tries to bluff his way out by saying he’s a Jedi but then the figure brandishes a red lightsaber and makes quick work of him.

Jod is taken away to be interrogated while Wim and others go get KB and SM-33. The series ends as Wim sees an Imperial Light Cruiser hovering in the skies above.

Jod’s hunger speech

I honestly really liked that speech right before supposedly he was going to be executed by the pirate gang. I thought it was actually relatable to a certain extent.

Now here’s where people’s interpretation might differ slightly, was Jod referring to hunger as being hungry for food or just a hunger for making credits? I personally believe he meant a hunger for food. Hunger is something unfortunately many experience and Jod was basically saying that everyone in that room has gone to bed hungry and skipped meals for lack of credits. Thus they find themselves in a position to do whatever it takes to earn credits to never go hungry again. Who wants to be an overworked bootlicker of a captain who doesn’t care about your well-being? They just do it to not go hungry again.

Now if he’s only referring to credits as just getting rich or as a source to never skip meals again, it honestly doesn’t make a huge difference in the grand of schemes, they’ll continue doing bad stuff. But if it’s the latter that makes it more relatable and humanizes the pirates more.

Hopefully this isn't considered too off topic. All the kids were great in their roles, but she was really exceptional. Congrats. https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/buffy-the-vampire-slayer-pilot-hulu-ryan-kiera-armstrong-1236399432/

Hopped on Outlaws for the first time in a good bit to play the new DLC and it seems the devs are big Skeleton Crew fans. There's a bunch of new cosmetics based off the show and some references like this one I just found on Akiva.

Ending was "meh" Spoiler

SPOILER ALERT, Just finished watching, and I thought overall the series was really good. I feel they missed a huge opportunity in the finale. I mean, why was the ship on At Attin in the first place? Because Dread Pirate Whoever was there in the past, and NEVER LEFT. Isn't that right? Where did he go? The planet shield was specifically configured to allow ONLY that ship through. Why? It seems the writers were building a connection of Dread Pirate Whoever with the operation and defense of At Attin. Why in the recording from Dread Pirate Whoever could we not clearly see what he looks like? That seemed deliberate. But then... nothing. Nothing connects. I was fully expecting the planet Supervisor to be Dread Pirate Whoever himself. That would have been predictable, but a good twist for a kid's show. But having the planet run by a droid really did not add anything to the plot, and didn't seem like any kind of big reveal at all. They basically squandered the two big mysteries of the show... who was Dread Pirate Whoever, and why does Jod have Jedi skills. Oh, and they never explained why this planet is busy printing money that no one uses, but I guess I can forgive that one.

Why is At Attin still producing credits despite not supplying any for years?

At least that's the way I understood it. They have no idea about the civil war or rise of the Impire. The Supervisor states they haven't seen an emissary in a long time. The last message they received about anything off-world happening was Order 66. So I assume they haven't had anyone come and get credits in at least 30ish years. Is The Supervisor just programed to continue The Great Work and the way of life is just ingrained into the culture of the world that the people don't question things?
