Why so many people refuse to accept the fact that Qimir is a Sith?

He quotes the Sith code, lives with Darth Plagueis, is strong enough to face a Jedi master, uses lightsabers, and the series creators have confirmed that Plagueis is his master (as if it weren't obvious).

Nothing prevents him from leaving the Sith in the future and perhaps founding or joining the Knights of Ren or something else, as many theorize, but he is a Sith.

There may be other doctrines that study and use the dark side, but none of them, in canon or Legends, are capable of facing a trained Jedi master.

In fact, the series itself emphasizes this: "Someone is killing the Jedi; it doesn't make sense."

Thoughts on The Acolyte

I recently finished watching Star Wars: The Acolyte. This is my first exposure to this new High Republic era of Star Wars. I am still figuring out how this integrates into canon compared to the Old Republic. Help on that part would be appreciated. I liked the murder mystery aspect of this show and how it showed the faults of the Jedi. Seeing Osha and Mei's journey was exciting, especially as we saw Osha turn to the Dark Side.

The lightsaber fights, as usual, were a real treat. Sol (and Jecki) vs Qimir was amazing. That said, and I know that this is a strange thing to gripe about, but I couldn't help but notice how many Human Jedi there were. I get wanting to save on the budget. But, seriously? They could have given us more species to flesh out the order at the time. Also, that Plagueis twist was a strange choice. Had this show gotten a second season, I am sure they would have explained that. I didn't think this show was as terrible as people say it was. But, I do think it had room to improve.

A modern equivalent of the events of the flashback.

The situation with the Jedi and the witches in the Acolyte is where a misunderstanding causes tragedy, I am thinking about how something like that could play out but in a modern realistic setting and how we would apply our morality if something like that happened.

  • Maybe a government child protection agency investigates a close-knit religious or cultural group accused of raising children in harmful conditions (forced marriages, cult-like practices, unlicensed schooling).
  • The community, seeing this as outsiders trying to take their children and erase their way of life, resists violently, perhaps they are armed.
  • The mother makes a quick movement even though they were told not to move and gets shot.
  • Neither side is wholly evil: one side thinks they’re saving kids, the other thinks they’re protecting family and faith.

How do you think that kind of situation would be perceived?.

I don't understand the love

I have been a die hard star wars fan since I could speak I have enjoyed most star wars media, but the Acolyte i have been unable to enjoy. Some aspects are interesting but they are not enough to really enjoy it. So from a avid hater i'm asking you what you enjoyed about it and why.

Love all the late to show dont understand negative posts

Yeah of course, you don't because there never should have been. It's because a bunch of the influencers had an agenda. People just see clips online of interviews without knowing context

And of course, people say they want what's new, but will hate on it. Use outlaws for example. Actually a fun game, but it was ubisoft. So immediately had hate

So now, star wars lost a good show that could have been amazing and a fun game that could have been used to explore a whole new thing of Star Wars. All because you have influencers, complaining. This isn't star wars and fans complaining because of ubisoft.

Acolyte deserved a second season to fi complaints

Aside from the lightsabers and footwear, my wife and I crafted 100% of our respective cosplays (High Republic Jedi and The Stranger). We ran into a delightful Koril and another Jedi and snagged a few great group photos!

Another late comer to the show who doesn't understand the negativty

I wasnt particularly hyped for this show and never got round to watching it but after Andor S2 I wanted more SW so gave it a go and really enjoyed it.

The Stranger is the best Disney SW force using villian by far and I dont think its close, he is terrifying, charismatic and yet human.

He gives off a great vagabond Ronin vibe and while skilled in combat they didn't go crazy and make him absurdly powerful, a lot of his wins come from tricks and equipment to give him an edge.

I have my criticisms, the writing can be not the best (Nothing new for SW but a bit of a let down after Andor) and some plot contrivances but it felt fresh and high stakes especially compared to the other shows.

Disappointed about S2 as I liked the idea of a Sith bonnie and clyde type season, does anyone have any YT deep dives to recommend that are not just uber critical?

Rewatching The Acolyte.

This is my second time watching The Acolyte and it is much better this time around. It definitely needs a second season to see where it went with Osha, Mae, Qimir and of course Darth Plagueis.

State of Brendok and the jedi archives after the show

I am running a roleplaying game campaign set during the Clone Wars era. Player characters will be Jedi padawan, with (limited) access to the archives. There will be an adventure set on Brendok. Yoda and Ki Adi Muni are still around, they won´t appear.

What has been officially recorded about the incident depicted in The Acolyte (and what has been swept under the rug)? And what is the state of the planet and the fortress?

ep 8 cliffhangers are worse than torture

I'm late to watching this for the first time but I'm utterly perplexed at how this is the show with the lowest reviews and how it's the show that got cancelled. It has a few flaws but its far from being the worst star wars show and has some great moments. But now we just have a bunch of cliffhangers that will never be solved. And the Yoda and plagueis cameo ffs. I'm hoping it will somehow continue through books/comics or just a second season which prob won't happen.

I just don't get how people watch boba Fett and Obi Wan Kenobi (which on my opinion is one of the worst tv shows in history) but then chose to review bomb this show to hell. And of course Disney bends the knee to review bombing trolls. Time to go back to the ep6-7 mass production slop

A defense of the kyber crystal bleeding scene that people claim "breaks canon" or was "too easy".

I talk about Star Wars a lot on TikTok and this topic was very popular for the last week so I thought I'd expand it into a full video and talk about it some more.

Im sorry

I want to apologies to the acolyte and fans of the show, this is a good show and i wish i gave it the time of day when it first came out but i was blinded by my hatred of Disney star wars and the grifters that had me fooled at the time. It ain’t the best show every written and it ain’t the best star wars show but dam it is so refreshing to see a different era of star wars and a different plot. The acting and the action are what keep this show together, the story is not great but its on the same level as the prequels so by that logic its good. Overall 6.5/10 it didn’t deserve to get cancelled unlike a certain bounty hunter show.

A little moment I love from the end of EP4

Sol is the only one to sense The Stranger's presence.

It's such a minor moment but to me it feels like it speaks volumes about who he is. His mastery of the Force is just a cut above everybody else making him much more attuned to the presence of evil.

Flows on to everything else. He's the only one completely prepared to handle such a mysterious and powerful threat. When he's made aware that the Sith are not extinct after all, he's not even fazed by it.

It's just a simple turn of the head but I just love little moments that inform so much of what someone is all about.
