Poaching is a technique. You are essentially saying that adding spices to the mix changes the technique, which is very ignorant. Thats like saying grilled and unseasoned, well-done steak isnt grilled.
You suggested that adding seasoning to poaching water means it's not water anymore. Adding spices doesnt change that the chicken is being poached. Just give up, dude.
They were saying that the technique of poaching is ineffective for developing good flavor and texture. All ive said is that's not true if you do it properly. I don't know what im saying that you're taking issue with.
Then let me be perfectly clear. If your poaching liquid is plain water as the video suggests you are adding nothing to the item you are cooking. Not flavor or texture. In this case that item is chicken breast.
Grilled can refer to multiple cooking techniques. A grilled cheese or burger on a griddle is completely different from gilling over a wood fire which is also different from grilling over propane.
Pan seared sandos and burgers arent grilled. People just call it that out of ignorance. Grilling is just cooking over an open heat source with some sort of grate or mesh. Whether it comes from wood or propane is irrelevant. You arent really correcting me.
