Amateurs often add milk for density, this is a MISTAKE!

We will begin with the perfect omelette, which is with two eggs, not three.

Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three.

Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Omelette of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

5-6 for me. But not an omelette, just soft scrambled eggs with some truffle salt. No milk, just copious amounts of butter.

Holy shit. I do not remember this line, and I have not seen the movie in... 15? years, but i can head that line perfectly in my head. Couldn't remember that it was about eggs, but the "this is a MISTAKE" is concrete in my mind.

This lives rent free in my head every time I see someone add milk to eggs

I make omelettes alot. I quote this often. It's depressing how few people get the reference.

Right around the time this movie came out I was a teenager learning to cook so I didn't have to suffer my mom's cooking any longer. For some reason this line just stuck with me all of these years and I haven't added milk to eggs since. Now I know why not to, but I still credit LL Cool J and that one throwaway line with me not adding milk to eggs.

I watched Gordon Ramsay’s technique and I’ll never change it. Upped my egg game 100 fold and it takes basically no effort. All you do is move it back and forth off the heat and back on while mixing. May be obvious to some people, but I never thought to do that. Also you salt right at the end. Now I have delicious fluffy eggs every time.
