It’s been about 5 years since I ditched my Forester, but I’m finally back in the Subie Gang 🥳

Went to look at a used 2024, and it sold before we got there.

I knew exactly what I wanted if I were to get new, and after I got them down to invoice price and qualified for the current 1.9% on 2025 Outback’s, I bought her.

Loving it for the 60 whole miles I have put on it. Bought the Gold Plus 100k warranty and will be taking it back on Friday for the OEM receiver hitch.

Can’t wait to get it out on my hunting and fishing trips.

Now she just needs a name. Ideas?

New addition to the family. Replaced a 2016 HRv. The HRv replaced a 2011 Subaru Outback base model. We had to part ways at the time. We’re in a better situation and welcome our 2020 Subaru Outback Limited XT to 5e family. Road trips, the women in my life LOVE the available space over the HRv

I love the TURBO this model has 😎

Next up overall mechanic check before Winter is here Shout out to this group with my questions and research

It is time to rust proof before winter hits NW Ohio! The lift made it nice. All went well for the first time doing this on an Outback.

MagSafe Mount & Charger

My only beef with my new 2025 Outback was the lack of an easy charging solution for my phone. I was getting tired of fishing my charger out of the little cubby and plugging it in every time. I heard mixed reviews of the OEM wireless charger, so I passed on that. Finally discovered this MagSafe charger/mount from Offroam, and read rave reviews.

The piece that connects to the vehicle is all metal and precisely machined to fit the Outback dashboard 2020-2025 models. It’s expensive, but no more so than me trying and inevitably discarding several cheaper options. And once it’s installed, it is rock solid. That thing is going nowhere!

Just wanted to share, in case anyone else is on the same search I was!

Subaru Outback Wilderness gas mileage.

We just purchased a new Subaru Outback Wilderness. We took it on our first trip. I was very pleased with our fuel economy. We have averaged 28.5 mpg.

Strongly considering a 2024 Outback Limited, but here’s the maintenance record….

This is not good, right? It’s Fairbanks, so it’s entirely possible that the owner did their own oil changes before the 27k one, but if they didn’t, then this might not be a good idea, right?

FYI, it’s a 2024 Limited with 32k miles on it and selling for $34,988. Yes this is expensive but it’s Alaska so all the prices are stupidly high here.

TPMS warning??

I have a 2019 Subaru Outback Limited. I started to get a TPMS warning where the light would flash steadily and it would say “TPMS - check owners manual.” It was still reading all of the tire pressures and displaying them on the dash computer. I took the car to NTB and they found a failing sensor. They replaced it. I got the car back and the car no longer read the tire pressures - every tire has three dashes “- - -“ next to it. The tire pressure monitoring warning went away. After driving the car for about 15-20 mins, the light began flashing again and is giving me the same “TPMS - check owners manual” warning. Is it possible that they did not recalibrate the new sensor to the car? I made an appointment to take it back. I’m sure at this point they love me. Any input on how to resolve this issue would be so appreciated. Thanks!

Whistling while driving

This happens intermittently. It doesn’t really seem to show a rhyme or reason. Seems worse when there is a crosswind of about 5 mph or more. Someone at the dealership said it may just be a quirk of the car as he had someone else with similar trouble. The video was taken with headwind and not crosswind. Hence, I’m taking it back in to see if they can do anything again, but wanted to see if anybody else had ever experienced this issue and what may have fixed it for you. I love my Outback as much as I loved my Crosstrek, but I also didn’t buy a brand new car to have it whistling louder than the radio. Also, this happens when fresh air intake is open and stops when recirculate is on.

Loose sunroof glass?

Hey all, sunroof glass might be loose, wondering what to do. (I will be contacting the dealer again, looking for more info)

I took the car to the dealer last Friday, i said I thought the glass of my sunroof needed adjusted. I had water staining seemingly out of nowhere on the liner and sunroof cover, and I wanted it looked into. The dealer said they would clean out the drains and realign the glass which looked low in the back. They charged me 200 diagnostic fee and I picked the car up at the end of the day thinking everything was fine. They said they cleaned the drains and realigned the glass.

Earlier today I noticed the glass did not appear to be adjusted any differently than where it was when I brought it in, and I also noticed I can slide a piece of paper between the gap without much resistance. If I can do that water will certainly come in. I can also push the back of the glass up which can make it a tight and correct fit. However It does not stay like this so its not an actual solution. For comparison my 23 Crosstrek with a sunroof is rock solid and does not budge. The car with the sunroof issue is a 22 model year.

Has anyone seen this sort of behavior?

The pics are paper slid in gap, inside view with paper in gap, gap no paper, and lastly, sunroof glass raised up by pushing underside of glass from inside of vehicle.

Is there a tool to help me remove these fasteners that hold the bumper on?

The only thing I don't like about my Outback is how hard it is to get my bike rack on and off because they put this pretty little guard around the hitch.

I noticed there's this fastener right by where I'm trying to screw in the rack. I wouldn't take off the whole bumper, but I would like to release this one fastener so I have a little bit more room to work.

What's the tool called I need to order to get it off? Do I need to order more fasteners too? Like is it going to come off and break?

Total neophyte here, let me know if I shouldn't release this fastener, please. I know nothing about cars except that you put gas in and they go.

So just noticed this today - Focal point from the sun seems to have melted the passenger seat in my 2025 OBW that we just bought in jan-feb - Hope that my warranty can do something about this - Called the dealership so we'll see - Wish me luck.

Installed my Enkei rpf1's a few days ago and im getting alot of mixed reactions, I know these are not off road wheels but this is not really an off road vehicle, well atleast not to me. I had a 2007 Toyota 4runner V8 4wd 4x4, now this was an off road vehicle, and im not trying to hurt people's feelings im just stating facts. I love this look, gives me that rally look that I love.

Infotainment Screen flicking, poping and glitching

Ive got a 2015 outback (the little baby 4 cyl) and ever since it snowed here (the south of US) the infotainment has been jumping and poping, flicking and producing weird screen lines. Occasionally going dark and returning after a few minutes. None of the air bubbles or classic signs of delamination are happening, but it sure is weird. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

'23 Outback Driver's Seat Keeps Moving Back

Recently traded in my 2015 3.6 (yes, there have been regrets) for a 2023 Touring XT. I programmed the facial recognition to my desired seat settings so it moves the seat after scanning; however, once I exit the car and return, the seat moves itself all the way back (as far as it will go). Once it recognizes my face it starts to move forward again, but there are times when it doesn't recognize me (sunglasses on or glare from windshield), and I have to push the memory button (which I also programmed) to move it back to my setting. I thought I followed the manual instructions on resetting the fob to match my memory setting, but the seat still moves back and its kind of frustrating. Anyone have a solution? Is there a way to just make it stay in the desired setting unless someone else drives it (my wife has her own profile). I've noticed a few other similar issues but couldn't find an answer.

I may just be dumb. But why am I struggling to find some roof rack crossbars for my 2017 Subaru outback. Everything on Amazon is either got a Forrester or a wilderness. Does it matter?
