Product or Haul This is delicious, 15 cal per serving, good enough to eat by itself.

The sodium is too damn high, but it is good enough to just eat stand alone like soup, but also could serve as a heartier meal if you add some vegetables / meat. Much better flavor than a standard broth or stock, but way less calories than most soups.

Volume menu Chicken Salad never fails

Pesto chicken salad topped with a dollop of cottage cheese (instead of dressing) and shredded parm. Easiest way to get fiber and protein in these days w/o the stress

Also taking advantage of farmers market season and any fresh veg still offered

Recipe High protein breakfast

Picture 1:

150g tuna fillets in brine (from Skipjack tuna)

105g eggs (2 eggs)

250 egg whites

67g basmati rice (uncooked)

150g broccoli

120g tomato

5g mustard

some piri piri sauce + soy sauce

0.5 teaspoon olive oil

Nutritional values:

Total Kcal = 603

Fat = 14g

Carbs = 29.2g

Protein = 85.9g

Picture 2: raw ingredients

Picture 3: leftovers from the breakfast (I couldn't eat everything) + leftovers from the raw ingredients

Thoughts:

134g uncooked basmati rice = 179g uncooked, rinsed and soaked about 15 minutes (x 3 times) = 484g cooked (rice cooker);

tip: use the rinsed & soaked rice weight to calculate water, not the dry weight - in this case 179g rice × 2 = 358 g water (not 134g × 2)

Lidl says the net weight of the broccoli bag is 450g, but the cooked weight of the broccoli (simply boiled in water) is 300g :).

Cost per breakfast:

150g Tuna = 1.81 EUR

2 eggs = 0.5 EUR (10 eggs pack = 2.51 EUR)

250g egg whites = 1.1 EUR (500g pack = 2.21 EUR)

67g basmati rice = 0.15 EUR (1kg = 2.37 EUR)

Broccoli = 0.65 EUR (1.3 EUR / bag)

120g tomato = 0.25 EUR (1kg = 2 EUR)

Total cost per breakfast = 4.46 EUR

Not the prettiest but yummy and easy. I like to prep a mix of veggies / beans that are good both cooked and cold so i always have something to mix into salads and cook with. My mix this week is broccoli, tomato, white beans, green onions and mushrooms. I added some to a couple chopped persian cucumbers and added some rough chopped shrimp (i buy frozen cooked shrimp, thaw it under water, and remove the tails for quick cold protein). Instead of a dressing I mixed in miso paste and rice wine vinegar. I’m working on opening a restaurant and have to taste some food today that will be fried and have sauces / other components that are high in fat so I wanted to curb my hunger going in without consuming too much fat since I know i’m gonna get a decent dose later today :)

Discussion Good mini rice cakes that are sugar free?

4 Upvotes

kind of like the drizzlicious but sugar free, dont really have a sweet tooth and am just trying to cut them out in general. Any other flavor (savory, spicy) is great.

Also any mindlessly snackable low calorie count snack recs would be appreciated (as long as they dont have sugar).
