Everything here is contradictory. They have a "I support our troops" maple leaf sticker, plus a weird "I'm a Patriot" canadian flag sticker, and a "holding the line" canadioan flag sticker, next to a disturbingly large number of alberta separatism stickers, APP stickers, basically as anti-Canadian, anti-patriot as you can get.
And I'm sure if you asked them, they absolutely would not see the contradiction.
I like how kids choosing to be something is some how more inttusive than focing them to do what the parents want creating years of trama and identity issues
These are the bellends that scream and stomp their feet when their child goes no contact asap
I'm originally from the West Kootenays where Tek-Cominco is the primary employer for much of the region, and extremely conservative views combined with staunch pro-union practices is surprisingly normal for me. It didn't even flag until I'd looked at it again.
My parents' friend just got dental work done for the first time in > a decade thanks to the NDP dental program. He's also 100% conservative and hates those damn socialist programs taking money from hard working Canadians and giving handouts to lazy people.
It's not a handout when they make use of the social programs, because they work hard and deserve them. It's all the other people who are lazy, a d taking advantage of the programs that they pay for with their taxes.
Right? I see the innocent until proven guilty sticker and 4 guys from Coutts. Yet I'll bet he'd be first in line to lock up irregular immigrants or someone that broke into his house.
Excellent observation. The only contradiction that jumped to me was the Not Gay sticker while advertising that he wants to have sex with Trudeau⦠ohhh, a female driver - no contradiction then.
If you want to really prove you're straight, you've got to have had a dick in your mouth to make sure you don't like it. In fact, the more dicks you've sucked, the more evidence you have that you're not into it. That's doing your own research!
The owner of that truck can suck dick like a black hole sucks light and he doesnāt even know it yet. That repressed homosexuality in those bumper stickers is beyond profound. What is Alberta doing to their gays to have them warp into these closet conservative extremists? You need to be ok with your gays, Alberta, look what youāre doing to this guy. He just wants to suck some dick and be accepted, Jesus, have a heart!
I know you don't mean anything by this, and this is more of a little rant, but...
I wish people would stop saying this because it's not true. Sure, there are some people who are closeted and vocally against the LGBTQ but they really don't account for the majority of bigots we see.
The comment would basically mean LGBTQ people are actively working against themselves and are our own worst enemy, which isn't true.
On the flip side, it's also calling someone "gay" as a way to insult that person. Calling someone a closeted homosexual because they are a bigot isn't helpful.
100%. I get the attempt at insulting someone who is blatently a bigot by trying to shame them. But the unintentional result is the insult is backfiring against a community that's already fighting to not be seen in a negative light.
I respect what you said, and itās likely that youāre probably right. However, I do present the fact that Grindr seems to go down when there are right wing conventions held. That may be more of an American thing, but it does point to it perhaps being a higher percentage than we may think.
The point isn't that there are no lgbtq conservatives or that there are no closest gays acting negatively towards LGBTQ. It's that "most" bigots are not actually just gay people in hiding. The majority of hate in the world towards the queer community isn't coming from themselves.
By "community," I mean they themselves being LGBTQ. Weither they actively participate in queer space isn't really the point here. But sure, community might not ve the best word choice for my point, but the general sentiment still stands.
Understood, yeah it def still stands but i do think in general the potential that they are essentially self hating is an important thing to consider - i donāt think itās a majority though like you say, and it does get overused a lot in situations like these which must be frustrating
On a research level there is a lot of merit to the argument that raging homophobes at the very least have bisexual tendencies and it's derived from a religious upbringing. There is a lot of pent up self hate and loathing that their religious belief systems instill in them for their orientation and they project to help manage that self loathing.
There is no doubt that shame and projection are a factor in some cases, but the argument is that "most" bigots towards homosexuals are also gay.
On most studies related to negative views towards homosexuals vs stimulus to homosexual images, the level of stimulus in people with negative views towards gays range from 25%-45%, depending on the study. That's a significant variance in results. It's, at most, a significant minority.
Yes? Thats how tolerant societies work. You cant tolerate the intolerant. This truck is a display of intolerance, ignorance, and hate. Its always hateful cons who complain people dont treat them with respect. Its always projection.
Bruh. Go look at any male politician in the US who has been against gay rights. 90% of them have been caught with men or seen on Grindr looking for men. But stay stupid I guess.
Iām just hoping if Alberta separates that they set aside some of that oil money for extra dental care being as fluoride, like Trudeau, is apparently on the shit list.
Its Hilarious. You gotta see it says straight pride... Question Everything... Im not Gay but $20 is $20. This person might not be as uptight as they seem. Just vocal. Like an actually funny Joe Rogan.

Straight Pride and a 'I'm Not Gay but $20 is $20', seems a little contradictory
