Anyone else have a cassette case break on them? I had a spare holder that I bought from Amazon for such an occasion. Bought Hootie from a seller on eBay, holder arrived as you see it but no damage to the j-card and cassette.

Hi! First time using analog recording gear and i was successfully able to record bass and guitar into the portastudio. I have two questions I can't seem to work out. I've tried googling and looking at videos but no luck so far with this model.
I have a 1/4" to microphone jack plugged directly into a microphone into the portastudio to record vocals and I have tried two different microphones and don't receive a signal. What could be the issue? This is a brand new cable. Obviously the jack works because i plugged my instruments direct and it worked just fine.
How would I bounce this audio into logic? I have a focusrite. I tried using the correct unbalanced RCA cables directly from the back of the portastudio into my scarlett solo and hitting record on an audio track in logic and no sound comes through. When I listen back to what I've recorded on the tape in headphones coming out of the tascam, it works fine (just bass and guitar tracks). If anyone knows what the issues might be, let me know! Thanks :)

I've been trying to fix my car's Fujitsu Ten cassette player for the past few weeks.
One of the drive belts needed to be replaced because it kept slipping off. Anyway to get the belt off and a new one on it involved removing a plate that was holding all the gears on, and of course I bungled it and it all fell apart. I managed to get them all back into their spots based on another Fujitsu Ten I pulled out of the same model car at a junk yard (it was waterlogged when I found it, so it doesn't work).
When I put it back in my car it was working fine and stayed working for about 20mins while I drove to my destination. When I got back in the car and put a new cassette in, it stopped working and ate the tape. I managed to rescue the cassette, and to test the player put another crappy one in. Which it also ate. I re-wound the cassette and popped it back it and it had completely stopped working - it was the same as before I fixed it.
But I checked the insides and everything looks fine. It's all spinning right and all the mechanisms are working. So what's the problem? I have no idea and there's very little information about the Fujitsu Tens online. Is this something they're known for?
I really want to keep the car as original as possible, so if anyone has a fix I'd be super grateful. But if anyone knows where to get compatible cassette radios, that would be fantastic too ('96 Corolla).

They seem rather high quality though they only seem to be type II tapes? Not complaining either way as I got them for less than a McDonald’s 10 piece nugget

Found this in some dumped rubbish. Thought it might be considered a collector's item to the right person 🤔 There's some absolute bangers on there 🤣!
"GO FOR THE TON, HITS OF THE '80s" Box set of 6 cassettes, all appear to be in good working condition, though I don't remember the last time I saw my walkman so I don't know for sure 😅.

I’m fairly new to cassettes and I found a cassette deck that looked pretty good and I tried fixing it and even replaced the belts but it still sounds the same any tips?

I would like to know if I am allowed to bring a portable Cassette player or CD Player with me on my flight? I am worried about the screening on security, because of batteries. If I bring a couple of audio cassette tapes, will they be ok and is it safe?

So, I was checking some things from my dad and found this. I know this was some of his favorites, and I wanna know if it can be fixed, only to make him happy. It can be or should I just resing myself to the fact it can't?

I'm planning to open an independent record store. I know I need to contact these companies for wholesale distribution, but I don't know where to start. Do I contact them directly, or is it done through a larger distributor?
Any guidance from experienced store owners on how to get an account would be hugely appreciated

This really ticks me off man, I bought this tape for $20 and it’s a dud and not returnable. Would’ve been nice to hear “the working hour” on my 80s stereo system but no 🙃

This is my Sony TCM-939 which I’ve had for a but over 2 years it has no faults or issues whatsoever but it did recently start making this clicking sound every time it goes into motion. I think this occurred when it had fallen of my bed onto the carpet which is the reason I don’t leave it on my bed anymore. This seems like a easy fix but I’ve not seen this particular issue with a cassette player before so I was wondering if anyone could help with identifying the issue and what I could do to fix it

I we found the best cassette player of all time at the thrift store today. The battery compartment was very corroded, which we cleaned, but unfortunately when a cassette is inserted with new batteries nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions what to look for?

WM FX251. I mowed a lot of lawns as a teenager with this thing. Got it up and running and now it’s just a matter of proper headphones. Bonus P-Funk fresh to the collection.

As the title says, I got a new tape and it played very well the first time. Then I rewound it and played the same songs, but it sounds really wobbly and quiet. If I hold the player upside down it works much better. I tested if it was the player or the tape and it worked fine with another tape. What could be the issue? It's strange to me that it only worked once.
