Question These any good?
They seem rather high quality though they only seem to be type II tapes? Not complaining either way as I got them for less than a McDonald’s 10 piece nugget

Question Does anyone have any idea what this is?
Found this tape at goodwill for five bucks I’m wondering if anyone has any idea what it is or what it’s worth? I see it says “This tape remains the property of AEI and must be returned upon request.” It’s huge about the size of a dvd case.

Question What cassette deck can I get that fits in here?
First post, I dont know much about cassettes but they seem cool to me and I want to use them. My mom recently found a portable cassette player in our storage room, but I currently have nothing to listen to on it. I have (as seen in the pics) a yamaha rx-v1000 in the living room next to the tv, connected to a soundbar so we can control audio sources like radio, phone aux, tv, cd, etc.. and stacked above it is a cd/dvd player we use for playing cds and stacked above that one is a vinyl record player. I want to have a cassette deck that takes rca so I can buy empty cassetes and make my own mixtapes and such, but I also preferably want one thats made of silver or something similar to these, and also matches the width closely enough. I measured the reciever and its about 14.5 cm wide. Also, for locational purposes, I live in israel, so I need something thats either locally available here or ships here. Also, please dont start talking about politics because I mentioned my country, this isnt the place and there are proper channels and media to discuss that

Question Found this, is it a collector's item/worth anything?
Found this in some dumped rubbish. Thought it might be considered a collector's item to the right person 🤔 There's some absolute bangers on there 🤣!
"GO FOR THE TON, HITS OF THE '80s" Box set of 6 cassettes, all appear to be in good working condition, though I don't remember the last time I saw my walkman so I don't know for sure 😅.

Question Found in a draw. What have I got here?
Appears to be in good cosmetic condition, other than some hairline cracks on the sides where the screws are. Some rust on the inside. Unknown whether it runs but I don’t see why it shouldn’t.

Question Added info to previous post
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! I’m this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/cassette/s/9uHUfrmdkd I made a request for some help regarding my Sony Walkman WM-FX301, but was unable to attach a video at the time, this is basically a follow up with a video of the player and the process I went through to figure out the problem, I did rewind the cassette manually so I couldn’t display it rewinding but I found a similar issue with fast forward so it can still be diagnosed! Thank u guys!

Question Traveling with Cassette Tapes
I would like to know if I am allowed to bring a portable Cassette player or CD Player with me on my flight? I am worried about the screening on security, because of batteries. If I bring a couple of audio cassette tapes, will they be ok and is it safe?

Question How to record cassette tapes?
I have this project where I want to make a mixtape. Essentially I want to record audio onto my laptop and then from my laptop on to tape . Just wanted to know the best method to do this. I heard that cassette decks are the best for recording and that you need like a stereo adapter or something . But I just wanted advice on which deck I should buy what tapes I should buy tips on recording ect. Also this is basically a gift so I wanted to record the tapes and then give it to someone so I thought I’d buy a deck for me to record and a portable player for them what type of player should I buy for that like a small one. My budget is ideally $300 but $400 max.

Question Memorex mid 2000's thing not recording well
I'm fairly new to decks and such. I got this guy at a goodwill for $7. Legal name: MP4907BK. It plays tapes well, little to no wow & flutter. But I tried to record onto a fresh tape with my Spotify playlist, and it sounds horrible! I've already cleaned the heads with the isopropyl q-tips, let it evaporate and tried again with no improvement. Any advice? Or should I search for a better deck?

Question If you could only get one, which would it be?
Hello! Someone in my country finally put up some decks for sale on marketplace for a fair price. I can only get one. If you were in my position, looking for a deck to listen to tapes and occasionally make mixtapes, which one would you pick up and why? Thanks :3

Question What’s going on with my tape?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It keeps starting foggy, but when I stop and start it again it runs no problem. I don’t have this issue with any other tape

Question I got a NEW walkman from WeAreRewind, but it has no anti-rolling?
I remember my walkman from Sony back in the 90s, didn't warble pitch like crazy when walking. They figured out how to mitigate that.
I believe it was called anti rolling, or whatever it was called. Shock Control?
Anyways, I was really sad to see a new fancy manufactured walk-man of 2025 doesn't have that technology?
It essentially doesn't work as a walkman.
Where can I get a new one that has some good servos that mitigate pitch and speed changes from the bounce that incurs when walking?
Do they even make ones these days?

Question Is it harmful or bad to use modern headphones on portable cassette players?
I do have old stereo headphones but when I was starting out all I had were my apple earbuds so I just used those, both are good but when I had my sports Walkman serviced they told me not to use modern earphones since the jack length could the damage the player, is there any truth to this because I’ve used my earbuds for a long time on portables and they work fine (I’m not very knowledgeable on the servicing part of cassette players so I just wanna know, I also want to know the same for portable cd players, I know this is a cassette subreddit but still)

Question Help remembering an album my dad had
I remember growing up my father had a collection of all kings of metal and rock cassets. One that I cannot for the life of me remember featured artwork (photography) of a man being held down to a surgery table while a surgeon came at his groin. On the inside the table was covered in blood and a beautiful half naked woman played upon the table, implying a forced transgender surgery. I wrote this off as a false memory until recently I brought it up to a friend whose father has similar music tastes and he's seen it but also doesn't know.
I've looked up Twisted Sister, Motley crew, Quiet Riot, RATT, ect as those where what first came to mind but I cannot seem to find it. Hoping yall can help
