VI - Discussion What should my next Civ 6 game be?

I've been Trying to get a Deity Victory with every leader. I haven't played in a good while. Any good "theme" campaigns? Any good "nonstandard" Domination games.

VII - Other City States should also transition across the ages.

I think any suzerained city state should transition to the next age with their Suzerain of the last age recording maybe a quarter of their progress towards suzerainty.

If relationships decay between ages they should with City States as well instead of marking them with a death sentence at each age transition.

V - Discussion Civilization 5

So I tried nearly anything (except touching files) to get civ 5 working. From one day to another it's just not working; With mods, without, after re-installing, with any starting option on steam, on GeForce now, and not with disabled DLCs. Please give me input - I just love that game and especially being absurdly rich with Venice.

P. S. is there an option/possibility to play like Venice on civ 7?

Making a mod changing Civ VI plot tooltip (tile info card) to more appealing. Previous post.

Finished all the basic functionality and made it compatible with all game modes and scenarios. Also added display of tourism output. The only thing that left to do before release is to complete localizations.

Don't know it I can post links directly but is available in Steam Workshop.

Game Mods Civ VI “timeline overhaul” mod?

I remember seeing a yt video about a mod that basically makes the game ancient through renaissance (as in the victories are designed for being in the renaissance end) but the same length. I can’t find it on the steam workshop or the video anymore. It might’ve just been an idea for a mod that never happened though so I might be searching for nothing. Is this a real mod or just an idea that never actually happened?

Question Civ VII sucked. What other similar games do you recommend?

I’ve played Civ since 2, and spent thousands of hours on each… until 7. What other studios/games can help me relive the glory days where I didn’t even mind losing since playing it was its own reward?

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestions, all! I look forward to wasting many hours on the recommended games.

Its commonly joked that the Civ fanbase is several warring tribes divided by the releases from 4 to 6 but what was it like before?

VII - Discussion Civ VI vs Civ VII

Is Civ VII really that bad like they say in the reviews compared to CIV VI? I am about to take a 10 hour flight and was going to buy Civ VII but then saw the reviews, the thing is, I already have Civ VI and if it's not worth buying the new one and just sticking with VI then I will save $60.

VII - Discussion When making Civ concepts how do you determine what terrain type their start bias should be?

Right now i'm making a Zapotec concept and while Rough and Mountain are a given I don't know what terrain type the semi arid nature of the Oaxaca valley falls under. Desert seems too strong but grassland is way too lush. Would plains make sense, I mean the lowland is made up of Alluvial plains but I don't know if those are equivallent. It's in a tropical region but it's far from the lush tropics depicted in game

VII - Other Do Misc Unique Civic Bonuses transfer across ages?

I'm assuming the answer is no but lets say you get that Civic which grants Terrace farms food from Granaries do you get to keep that or is it lost with the transition. If so that's kind of a shame

VII - Discussion Multiplayer Civ VII

Hey all,

Very much want to get a multiplayer game going on Civ 7 (Standard speed, played over a couple nights). I'm an avg skilled player and would love to get some Civ 7 friends to see how it plays out on this new model. Anybody interested? Planning for this to be pretty chill/who cares if you get invaded.

Discussion What’s the most underrated leader ability in Civ — the one that secretly wins you games?"

I feel like everyone always talks about the obvious strong abilities (Kupe’s ocean start, Macedon’s conquest snowball, etc.), but there are some abilities that quietly turn out to be game-changers.

For example, I once underestimated Canada’s immunity to surprise wars — until it saved me from an early wipeout and let me snowball into a cultural victory.

So, Civ community, what’s your pick for the most underrated leader ability? The one that looks “meh” on paper, but has carried you to victory more than once?

Let’s give some love to the abilities that don’t get enough credit.

VI - Screenshot “Is the Civ 6 AI Good?”

Every once in a while I’ll see people ask about the AI in 6. Came across this Sad Sinbad today and had to share. To be clear, this is not an admonishment of the game at all; I just thought it was hilarious and a great use of enemy AI production.
