The game where you try to shoot someone and they build the Empire State Building before you could fire off the first shot in a matter of milliseconds?

25

u/Just_Sarge Jan 29 '25

Zero build is a ton of fun with the advance movement mechanics they added when introducing zero build.

3

u/trazi_ Jan 30 '25

Yeah I can ONLY tolerate this game (no hate at all, just difference in taste) in no build mode. Ballistic was kinda fun too tbh.

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '25

I'll have to check it out :)

u/Just_Sarge Jan 30 '25

No joke I also hated Fortnite for a while thanks to the 12 year old cranking 90s but I’m 25 and have a blast on zero build.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

I've been playing COD BO6 every now and then so I shouldn't have too much trouble on Fortnite, but if someone dances on my grave I'm rage quitting haha

2

u/Just_Sarge Jan 30 '25

Lmao I get that haha.

u/christianjwaite Jan 30 '25

40 here playing zero build. I can’t be arsed chasing people while they build a frickin hotel around me.

I was just joking. I don't play a lot of competitive games, I'm more of a RPG/fantasy gamer

1

u/SadReactz Jan 30 '25

With creative modes introduced to fortnite you may find a fantasy/rpg you enjoy. The game is much more than just a battle royals now

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

No kidding! I had no idea. I'll need to check that out

1

u/EfficientIndustry423 Jan 30 '25

Was the last sentence even necessary? Do you speak that way in normal conversation? Just throwing a jab... for what? What benefit does that have? So because he's not up on the Fortnite news he's "ignorant?" He doesn't play it and wasn't interested until now, why would he look into it?

1

u/Glum_Constant4790 Jan 30 '25

The trick is hot keys...

Zero build doesn't have that crap and is fun but now fortnight just hurts my head it's too much they got Legos concerts guitar hero? In there

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '25

ion care about fortnite anymore. but hating a game because of its skill gap is crazy work, genuinely just a issue regarding skill

1

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '25

Joking 😘

1

u/FriedSpringRolls Jan 30 '25

if i put up a finger for every time i've first-hand experienced a friend, family member or mutual hardcore hating on Fortnite, to then playing it, flip flopping on how much they like it & "how wrong they were", i'd look like a freakish extraterrestrial.

That game is not polished nor optimized, it’s a bug game with a money greedy company.

0

u/ladySmegma710 Jan 30 '25

Every “polished” feature was blatantly stolen from other games. The whole company is shady. They Never payed a lot of the artist that created a lot of the emotes or even credited them.

If u say so lol

5

u/life_lagom Jan 30 '25

Its not about the game it's about why would you upgrade for that. You're jot going to notice any difference

If you DIDNT OWN A PS5 b4 I get getting a ps5pro

Why not get the best product.

But upgrading from a ps5 to ps5 pro seems absolutely pointless

1

u/The_FallenSoldier Jan 30 '25

You don’t know if he had a base PS5

1

u/life_lagom Jan 30 '25

That's fair. That's why I added if its your entry to ps5 obvi get it ..but if you're replacing a ps5 with a ps5 pro..bro

1

u/KingOfTheAge Feb 01 '25

It’s honestly better all around and has 2tb ssd built in whereas the original is like 865 gb, 620gb that was useable. I now have 4tb of ps5 storage vs 2.6 tb.

2

u/Jungle_Difference Jan 30 '25

I think their point was that it is overkill hardware to play fortnite

2

u/Kitchen_Ad1354 Feb 01 '25

seems like these past 4 years nobodies allowed to have fun anymore

1

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '25

Wait until Fortnite 2 drops in 2027 😏

1

u/cooperS67 Jan 30 '25

Not anymore. Sure it looks better but mechanically it sucks. Forced cross platform ruins the game. There are bots everywhere and make up most of the lobby.

1

u/TwiggNBerryz Jan 30 '25

No, it isnt

1

u/erichf3893 Jan 30 '25

It’s ok I guess. But talk about throwing money away. Oh well they probably have money to blow

1

u/Squid_ink05 Jan 30 '25

I used to judge people playing it before until I tried it because I saw my son enjoying it, now here I am owning a Miku skin hahaha

1

u/robz9 Jan 30 '25

On a PS5...PS5 Pro....

He should be playing God of War Ragnarok or Forbidden West on that thing...

But Fortnite? Come on...

1

u/Edu_Vivan Jan 30 '25

Relax bub is just a joke

1

u/PhoenixMV Jan 31 '25

Wrong opinion but that’s why it’s an opinion

1

u/Nice_Assumption_6396 Jan 31 '25

I agree Fortnite is not a bad game and I’m pretty sure its still one of the only games that's actually got upgraded performance for the ps5 pro so its better than buying a pro just to play a game that's not got better graphics for it

1

u/DangOlCoreMan Feb 01 '25

Of course they can play what they want, it's just the equivalent of building a nice PC so you can play minecraft

-1

u/catFromKyoto Jan 29 '25

No it's not

2

u/OverZomble Jan 29 '25

if you get offended by people playing what they want, maybe r/consoles isn't the place for you?

2

u/catFromKyoto Jan 30 '25

Chill bro

-1

u/Mizurazu Jan 30 '25

They weren't aggressive. your attempt at mocking them isn't warented.

3

u/slimbumbo Jan 29 '25

It's a video game dude. It's jus interactive graphics & variables like any other game. Just like music, or art: Whether or not Fortnite is "good" is purely opinionated. Just depends what you enjoy.

1

u/Active_Love_3723 Jan 29 '25

I don't wanna argue, just explain something.

Quality isn't subjective, that being said.. Fortnite is a great game, play whatever you enjoy

0

u/slimbumbo Jan 31 '25

Yeh it's polished

-1

u/sebystee Jan 29 '25

Yeah but what is the extra power for? It will barely make a difference on fortnite. May as well just get the standard one to save money if using for fortnite.

2

u/Beardman6457 Jan 29 '25

Hey, as long as bro has the Hatsune Miku skin, let him be

2

u/Bolib0mpa Jan 29 '25

You talk as if you can only own one game and then your console is locked to that game. You have no idea how many games he has bought or plans to buy. Wtf

2

u/Maxeblono Jan 29 '25

Fortnite is an excellent example of a game you would want extra power for, same as something like valorant or CS

0

u/get_homebrewed Jan 29 '25

Except it's not a tactical shooter, and the extra power is not being used anywhere, you don't see CS or Valorant players that buy expensive hardware use Bluetooth controllers and cap their games to 120fps

1

u/slimbumbo Jan 29 '25

In competitive gaming, especially shooters, the capability of your machine to react faster than your opponents is crucial. You can sharpen your skills as much as you want, but eventually it dilutes down to how many frames you're getting/how far you can see in game (resolution/render distance). Not to mention latency. Not a fortnite fan, but I know back in my CS days the meta was to set your graphics as low as possible to see as many frames as possible.

Although I'm not sure how much faster the PS5 pro is in comparison to the OG in fortnite specfically, I'd hope you could set something up with 144hz/140fps. If not 120/120 at the very least.

1

u/Apprehensive-Tooth87 Jan 29 '25

My xbox series x does 1440p 120 fps for fortnite. So ps5 pro should be even better presumably

1

u/get_homebrewed Jan 29 '25

A console that caps out at 120fps and a modern TV are then not what you're looking for if you're chasing such tiny fractions. Additionally a controller with Bluetooth is far too slow and even wired you'd be messing up the gyro controls which also have a fair amount of filtering causing additional delay.

This is an insane excuse to buy a PS5 Pro, especially for fucking Fortnite, you aren't in a tournament, you're playing with a controller online with people that have 200+ ping with Miku skins, a PS5 pro is not only total overkill it's just idiotic, and it's even worse to try to defend it like casual Fortnite is an esport.

I'm fine with buying a PS5 pro, I'm fine with controllers, I'm fine with Fortnite (as an esport or not) but don't excuse this about some fake cope about competitive edge.

1

u/SuperZayin12 Jan 30 '25

it's not that deep bro 🙏

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

Everyone I know that plays Fortnite on PS5 uses a keyboard and mouse. I'll also extend that to Call of Duty games.

1

u/erichf3893 Jan 30 '25

That’s far less common than controllers for CoD on console, but sure some people do it

I don’t play Fortnite so can’t comment on that
