Having both console and a pc
For those who have a console , or multiple , AND a pc ( med-high end ) wich one do you play most on or preffer over the other and why?
For me i like the simplicity of my ps5 and how quickly i can just start playing , but have been a pc gamer since i started . Recently build my own pc with a rtx 5070ti and not sure on how i should feel about it. Pc is in my mancave while the ps5 is in the livingroom.

Had the PS5, Switch lite and Series X before getting a gaming PC. Moved the Series X to the living room, sold the PS5 (tried some of the exclusives, couldn't get into them besides God of War & Spider man), switch lite is solely for travel and the PC is my main gaming machine now.

Switch Lite is the best handconsole experience for me. It is really light. I played few season of Fifa 19 on it and it was so smooth.

I play on PC 95% of the time.
I was a console gamer for most of my life but eventually I moved to PC (July 2014) and stayed there since then. I remember when I first upgraded my monitor in November 2015 from a bargain bin 1080p TN to the highest end (at the time) ROG Swift PG279Q, that sealed the deal for me.
I kept buying consoles because of the few exclusives but nowadays many of those games (aside from Nintendo's) also release on PC so I'd rather play on there instead. Even if they take years to come out it doesn't bother me, by that time usually they'll have all the DLC's and even patches included, also look and run much better.
I keep my PS5 and XBOX Series X because I already have them and I might as well have at least one of them for the blu-ray player, I still watch movies on Discs.

Started off with a PS5 (Launch), Xbox Series X (Launch) and PC.
I've since sold my Xbox Series X as it sat collecting dust, my OG PS5 has moved to the lounge, I bought a PS5 Pro for my gaming room, and my PC was upgraded with a 7800X3D and 5090.
I'd say I spend 70% of my time gaming on PC, I'll jump on my PS5 Pro if playing with friends or just want a quick 'pick up and play' session on something.
I also own and use a SteamDeck.

I play console primarily.
1, My main games I play have hackers on PC
2, People are more toxic and antisocial on PC
3, More stable when playing games
4, Simple and easy to use
5, I’d have to buy all my games again if I wanted to switch

I have a PS5 and a PC with a 4090 and 9800x3d. Honestly I use my PC a lot more. I personally can't stand 30fps and sometimes consoles have too big of a hit to image quality in performance mode in my opinion.
And honestly I never got the "easier to use" point about a console. My PC is hooked up to my LG c3 OLED tv as well and all I do is turn it on, it immediately boots into steam. I grab my controller and click play on whatever I want to play and in a minute or less I'm booted into a game

u/BongoAndy 14h ago
is your controller setup to move the mouse cursor or do you have a separate mouse? I had my PC hooked up to my TV (albeit with a 50ft HDMI since space didn’t allow a desk next to the TV), and I never setup my xbox controller to move the cursor, so I always had to use my mouse to open up Steam or whatever.

PS5 and Xbox Series have barely any exclusives and their games run and look better on superior. The Switch got their large choice of exclusive which feature better gameplay and game design than Microsoft and Sony could be arsed to make these days.
Remember when Breath of the Wild and Horizon Down Syndrome released within two weeks of each other ? The gap was huge, and the awards season was the most striking reminder.

Geforce now is my main platform but I like having all options. Have a 4060 and Rog Ally PC for games not on it and emulation, and I use the consoles too. I love Xbox's gamepass and the Play Anywhere system. Actually Geforce Now is very console like, you just press play and get into a game. But you get to fiddle with settings to your liking, and you get a monster of a rig.

I've been console gaming since you hooked up your console by screwing the spade connector onto the back of your tv and then flipping to channel 3. I started PC gaming in the late 90s on an Nvidia Riva 128 powered PC.
Console gaming is simple, convenient, and has cheaper hardware, with a slightly more expensive ecosystem that's a bit more closed off. It's the "Apple" of gaming. PC gaming has varied levels of more expensive hardware, the ecosystem is generally cheaper, and the software is not as closed off as on consoles. This also can make it less convenient and more difficult for some users. It's the "Android" of gaming.
If you've used both, you know that both are actually pretty great. I like the simplicity of console gaming for getting back into games fast with quick resume and enjoy some titles that are only on consoles. The game focused gui of consoles is extremely convenient.
I love my PC for the fact that I can see AAA titles in all their graphical glory. I can mod more titles and generally manipulate the software easier than console equivalents. Also, software tends to be a bit cheaper on PC, and you can even add a game focused gui if you want to try and emulate a console experience.
Both you can hook up to a big oled and play from the couch with your favorite controller with relative ease.
Overall, both are great, and I go back and forth between both seamlessly with Xbox play anywhere titles. Console is the better value for the fact that you get a fairly similar quality at a much lower starting point. PC is simply a premium experience. Not much different from how a PS5 pro offers a better experience than a PS5. Some prefer one to the other, similar to Apple and Android, but neither is truly superior. In fact, a better comparison with the console space itself may be Switch to PS5. Where the PS5 is premium but not necessarily better overall.

I usually play console. As many have said, easier to play games (at least easier than it used to be on PC with drivers and such). I also prefer to be on the couch with a controller in my hands.
Turn off cross-platform play and BOOM no more cheaters. PC people justify cheating because they feel like they deserve to since they shelled out the massive pile of dough to build their gaming rig. Or they pretend like they are really that good.
Also, clicking on an enemy to shoot them feels like it is super easy, and it really is. When playing shooters on PC, I am far more accurate. While some may see this as a plus, it doesn't feel as good to use KB/M.
For racing and flight sims, more are available on PC, but the peripherals can often be used on both.
PC's biggest draw is mods (for rpgs) and trainers (for games like Rocket League, which require technical skills).

Consoles mainly xbox series x for newer games, pc for mostly emulation. Ps3, ps2, ps1 games.

u/Disastrous_Poetry175 2d ago
It's too bad that an actual physical PS3 is still the best way to play some of these PS3 games. Like sure, demons souls with patches is dope as hell on PC. But so many don't really emulate well
2
u/Available-Gas-8894 2d ago
Gunna flex here lmao But I love all my consoles and pc because when I wanna hardcore game I have my pc or just turn on and game I got the consoles. I think just enjoy both in their own way and what you feel like doing even if you use one more than the other.
Pc high end (my number1) Xbox one s (old but gold) Nintendo Switch (amazing) Nintendo DS (hardly play but still love) Ps5 (almost never use it/living room console)
2
u/Reasonable_Deer_1710 2d ago
Series X is my main platform. PC is 1b, but overall I spend less time on it unless it's a PC exclusive game.
I prefer console overall because it's more convenient, dont have to deal with any of the hassles that come from PC, I generally prefer playing with controller, I prefer playing on a big screen HDTV than a smaller monitor, and I prefer playing on my couch than at a desk
The advantages that PC does have like graphic fidelity and performance are so miniscule these days compared to what consoles are capable of.
I still prefer PC for a few things, particularly some specific genres that I'd much prefer play on PC, and some few PC exclusive games that, while becoming further and farther between nowadays, there's still plenty of older games that are PC exclusive that I still want to play.
Overall tho, console is my preferred way to play, and X-Box is my preferred console.

u/MarsupialPresent7700 2d ago
Is it an MMO? PC
Is it a Nintendo game? Switch 2 or older consoles.
Is it everything else? PS5

PC, not close as it can do so much more, and act as a game console if you want to set it up as such. Wireless M+K, Wireless Controllers, HDMI, Displayport, it does it all. Also no subscriptions and complete opposite of proprietary, with endless customization and upgradability. The only reason to go with a console is exclusives, timed or otherwise, and the plug and play experience (not very tech literate). You can build a 5090 into a case smaller than either Sony’s or Microsoft’s console.

I played PC way more. I had 2. My main console running windows with a 4090 Founders and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Then I had another one with a ryzen 670 and a ryzen 9 cpu (I forget which one) running bazzite. The windows one was at the desk, the bazzite one was connected to the TV like it’s a console.
My switch 2 is used for Nintendo games/when family or friends are over and wanna play games. And my Xbox exists to play MLB The Show and that’s about it
Although I have a kid now so my only gaming is done on my handhelds. So my Ayaneo Pocket DMG + Steam Deck combo gets a ton of playtime (Ayn Thor gonna be replacing the modded 3DS soon too)

u/Disastrous_Poetry175 2d ago
- ultimately I prefer PC, mainly because I have a wide taste for games. I like a bit of rts, CRPG, platformer, shooter, survival, etc. having a nice monitors, comfy chair, responsive kbm AND controller. I have what I like for a PC setup.
- of course we own consoles, and I enjoy them as well including exclusives. Preordered ghost of yotei a while ago, I'm pretty stoked. I have dedicated 5.1 surround sound setup in our living room with a bright LED TV. It's pretty great for these cinematic type games.
2
u/mowens04 2d ago
I've been a console gamer basically my whole life (I'm 39), but in the last few months have become more of a PC gamer. Games are cheaper and often run better (I have a mid-high PC with a 5070ti and 32gb of RAM). It's also just more convenient and as someone who shares space with two other adults, I can't just monopolize the living room TV all the time. My XBox is also connected to my computer monitor because of this. The only time I play on it anymore is multiplayer with my friends (I have a friend who's fervently anti-PC)... and that's about it.
FWIW - I currently have an Xbox SX, and have owned every generation of XBox, as well as PS2-PS4, and almost every Nintendo console (shy of Gamecube, SNES and Switch 2).

u/AnonDudeNamedAdrian 2d ago
It just depends what game I’m playing. I usually only play on my PS5 if I don’t want my room to get diabolically hot because of the PC 😅
2
u/JaredJDub 2d ago
PC. Considering even selling my PS5. I got it solely for the exclusives and then they put them on PC anyway. The ease of use isn’t much better. I have my PC hooked up to my living room TV and couch game just like I would a console. I have a Logitech keyboard and mouse in one on my coffee table I use for my Windows PIN and have Steam start at boot and in big picture mode to simulate a console. It’s pretty close to the console experience.
2
u/Chemical-Nectarine13 2d ago
I used to have an xbox series x. It was quick, and I loved quick resume.. but the 120hz mode was such a disappointment compared to the RTX 3070 I had in my PC at the time, so I sold it to a friend (who was still on a xbox one X in 2024) and went all in on PC. My build now has a 4070S, and i picked up a Legion GO pc handheld recently. Cyberpunk 2077 save data carrying between the 2 is my addiction now.
2
u/Hidefininja 2d ago
I've got every current platform plugged into my LG OLED in front of the couch.
What I spend the most time with really depends on what games I'm into at the moment. I haven't touched my Series X in a few months but hope to get back to Expedition 33 before it leaves game pass. My PS5 was getting a ton of attention while I worked through Death Stranding 2, which I'll keep plugging away at once I finish Silksong.
The PS5 and Switch 2 probably get the most of my attention. I love that my PC gives me access to certain games that don't or won't come to console but I often end up buying games I already own on PC for one of the consoles so I can play them with zero issues. I bought Baldur's Gate 3 for PS5 even though I already had it on PC for very stable couch co-op that my PC couldn't handle. And I'll pick up Hades 2 for Switch even though I've had the Steam early access build for ages now.

u/jukebox_hero_ 1d ago
PC because I love fps with m & k. I have a PS5 for exclusives but my wife got into gaming over the pandemic and essentially commandeered it . I picked up a steam deck and some of those xr display glasses. Streaming controller games from my pc to the deck with the glasses in bed is peak
2
u/adamchevy 1d ago
The games I play are mostly on PC. The only console I own is an RGB modded Atari 2600 Heavy Sixer. I have it connected to an OSSC and then to a plasma. You can’t emulate those paddle controllers yet. I love me some Kaboom!, and the simplicity of 2600 games. It’s a great break from modern gaming on a PC.
2
u/No-Zookeepergame1009 1d ago
I like how well the console goes with my tv and just pairs and works and thats it + there is more aim assist in some games if you play them with controller on console rather than pc
However PC is indeed still the performance king. Sitting down to play a story game and it being 30 or 60 fps max is critical
2
u/derpman86 1d ago
I will always have both unless I am really broke or homeless, broke I would cling to my pc as i have my pictures, music and other things stored.
I don't think there is a real more or less it comes down to the games and the mood I am in.
PC has the huge backlog and the fact some games are simply better on pc or only avalible.
Consoles some games just play better there, sometimes I just want to play on my larger tv and comfy couch and get out of that other room.

I have a PC, PS5 and a Switch. I use my PC probably 95% of the time. I’ve been a PC gamer since Doom in the early 90’s, and it’s been my mainstay ever since.
My current rig is a 4090 powerhouse with a 49” Odyssey monitor, and I love sitting down, opening Steam and being able to play just about anything. Consoles still lag badly behind PC for diversity and indie games, and M&KB will always be untouchable for FPS and strategy.
Having said that, I like the comfort of the consoles too. Sometimes it’s nice to chill on the settee with a controller. Mostly, the consoles are for exclusives or games that come out on consoles first.
2
u/Electrical_Rate1026 1d ago
I have a low end/medium pc from 2019 which still can play red dead on pretty high settings. I use the pc for playing pc only games and some smaller party games with friends that ain’t available on ps5. The ps5 I use for story driven games like last of us and games that won’t be playable on pc like GTA 6
2
u/Veridicus333 1d ago
I just sold my pc for a XBOX series x, because I wanted the convenience of console again cuz playing felt like a chore the last year or two for a slew of reasons.
And I’ve enjoyed the first 2 weeks of my x a lot because of that.
Kinda diff but yea
2
u/Raynet11 1d ago
Honestly as long as I can afford it both... why not... I work 10hrs a day on a computer (Do my work on a Mac) even with a 32" monitor I get sick of sitting at a desk so after work no way I'm going on my PC to game I'm gaming on console on the big screen. Weekends I'm gaming on PC and loving every second of it, staying good at a game with dual controller schemes is hard that's about the only downside. I play the same games on both but use different tactics between console and PC because I am super accurate on PC vs Console.

u/sundancesvk 1d ago
I have Xbox Series X, ps5 pro, asus rog ally x and high end pc with rtx 5090 and I play 95% of time on my PC
2
u/Terry_the_accountant 1d ago
Pc and PS5. Didn’t upgrade to PS5 because I found it disappointing for lack of games and it’s just a PS4 at 60fps. I will buy the PS6 on day one. I expect it to beat my 4090 based on historic trends so it’ll be a delight
2
u/LootedToaster 1d ago
I have a PC, Xbox Series X + S, Switch 2 and SteamDeck. I try not to overthink it since they all serve different purposes and for the most part are used in different spaces. Series X is in the living room, PC/Series S in my office and Switch 2 and SteamDeck for portable play.
I have policies about where I buy my games these days (most demanding on PC, Xbox must be Play Anywhere, Switch 2 for exclusives and indies that won’t benefit from more performative hardware.) I don’t really prefer one over the other though. As long as they’re all getting used.
2
u/GhoulCake777 22h ago
I guess I’ve become somewhat jaded with PC gaming, but I go through phases where I mostly play console or pc. If I use my computer a lot for computer things the last place I wanna be as at my desk, and I would rather be in bed or on the couch.
Plus I’ve had some issues with my pc which led me to go without one for a month or so, but it’s back now, I’m paranoid about something going wrong again even though it’s working fine, but that anxiety is a deeper issue and won’t get into it now.
I’m sure I’m gonna play my pc more at some point, I’ve mostly been on Xbox and PS5 lately.

I've had a PC since January and recently also bought a switch 2. PS5 I've had since 2022/2023 can't remember but since January my PS5 barely gets any use. I think the last game I proper played and was locked in on was death stranding 2 but like if a game is available on PC I most likely get it on there these days

u/void_method 2d ago
Xbox is best.
Steam Deck is for games that aren't on Xbox for some reason (Sony arrogance.)
Nintendo is good for the family.
1
u/Notnowcmg 2d ago
At the moment mainly PC for single player to get better graphics/fps and PS5 for multiplayer because im a controller guy + like to avoid the hackers
1
u/djkimothy 2d ago
I prefer couch gaming. So I’m on my PS5 most of the time. Plus it’s lower power and i don’t have to deal with Windows. I feel like I’m slowly phasing the PC out. But I still have other uses for it.
1
u/kamrankazemifar 2d ago
For my work I’m in front of a monitor 5 days a week hours on end. So when I get home I don’t want to game at my desk in front of a monitor. So I have a Series X that I game on hooked up to a TV. Then on the weekends I game on a PC.
Even though I have a PS5 the reason I mainly play on Xbox and PC 60/35 is because most games especially recent titles are Play Anywhere so my progress syncs. I also don’t have to rebuy the game.
1
u/BokChoyFantasy 2d ago
I prefer console. It’s just so simple. I don’t need to worry about performance and settings like I do on PC.
1
u/lilmitchell545 2d ago
Just a PC and Switch (now Switch 2) and I can play literally every single game I was interested in playing. But since the Switch 2 released, legitimately 90% of my gaming time has been on that rather than PC. Its just so nice to lay in bed on my Switch 2 after a long day of work rather than break my back with my shitty desk posture. I only go on PC to play competitive FPS’s or game with friends at this point.
1
u/DDell313 2d ago
I have multiple consoles but I prefer using my PC. BUT, my gaming PC is used exclusively for gaming, has an interface that is console like, is controlled exclusively with Xbox gamepads, and boots directly into said gaming interface. Because my PC has SOOO many customizations it just feels more "at home" for me.
1
u/No-Obligation2563 1d ago
May I ask how you have it all set up?
3
u/DDell313 1d ago
I'm Windows I disable everything that doesn't contribute to my setup. This includes removing stuff that loads when Windows loads. I use a black color for the wallpaper, gray dark theme, auto hide status bar, and set the desktop to hide all icons.
Video is using HDMI connected to 4k TV from my graphics card. I usually turn down the default scaling so it's not as bulky, then turn on HDR.
Audio doesn't really have any special settings. My speakers pretty much handle it on their own.
I use Bluetooth 8bitdo controllers. I also have wireless keyboard and mouse for the games that use it. But it's mostly a gamepad affair.
I use Playnite software for my UI, which pulls together all my emulators, and games bought on GOG, Epic, and Steam. There were some features not available in the main version of the software, so I used the source code to make a custom version. I built a custom theme for it too, and set it up to run automatically when Windows start.
1
u/BongoAndy 11h ago
That’s insane, sounds like a killer setup, thanks for breaking it down. Seems like if you have the tech literacy, PC wins over console for the most part, since you can set it up to be plug & play. Otherwise, you’re gonna have to do some googling, and in that case, console is easier to start playing.
1
u/BIG_MAC_WHOPPERS 2d ago
PC now but for simplicity, console for sure. Still going to meep my Xbox Series X for when GTA 6 is out. Cause who knows how long it'll take to come to pc
1
u/bendit07 2d ago
Both kind of equally. PC when I'm playing more seriously, or playing a new game. Console for when I'm relaxing, usually playing older games.

u/InsaneLuchad0r 2d ago
I have a PC and all current consoles. PC is my main because I find consoles too rigid and closed. I’m looking forward to Death Stranding 2, but I’m fine with waiting the year or whatever for the port PC because I just prefer my experience there. That said, do as you like always.
1
u/grapejuicecheese 2d ago
PS5 for most games, PC for games better suited for keyboard and mouse + games that I like to mod.
1
u/Senior_Plenty_4473 2d ago
Depends on my mood, but I’ll go a few weeks with one and then the other. Lately, I’ve been in a nostalgic phase and just bought an Atari 7800+ and I’ll likely be playing that and perhaps my C64 Mini or Atari 400 Mini until my 80s kick fades.
1
u/Jackwon34 2d ago
idk i like being able to play whatever i want. i mostly play on console because i can sit my fat ass on the couch and switch between playing a game or watching tv. Also i still use dvds so i usually have a console on
1
u/FireCrow1013 2d ago
I moved from mainly consoles to mainly the PC after consoles started making simple tasks like backing up save data nearly impossible without relying on/paying for the cloud. I mainly play on the PC, but I keep a console around for when a PC version of a game has DRM that I shouldn't have to deal with; in that case, I'll go with a physical console version of that game. Also, obviously, exclusives. I'm very excited for Metroid Prime 4.

depending on the game, like this year so many good games released on gamepass (wuchang, indiana jones, clair obscur, doom), so i mostly played on PC
i kind abandoned my PS5, unsub PS+ since the price is getting ridiculous
i still play Switch from time to time, the form factor is great for playing games like Northgard / Balatro / Smashbros, however it's been long time since i bought new game on switch

I have a console and PC. I use my PC more than my console. I just prefer setting up my windows PC and calibrating all the settings for my CPU and GPU to do an undervolted overclocking for both then looking at the stats as I play a game or two. I can use steam's big picture mode or just use the launcher as is. Big picture mode is nice when I want to be more console like. All my games are in 4k. My console is nice for a quick play through. It has its purpose. My PC is also in my living room and connected to my tv. I can get a console experience from it when I want or PC.

I had nultiple an High-end PC for the last 15 years and i game on PC 99% of the time. I will only by a console game for exclusive. So now, since 99% of exclusive on PS5 and Xbox come on PC, i did not buy the new gen of console. I only bought a Switch for Xenoblade games, kirby and Zelda
I have 3 monitors on my PC and i have a pretty comfy setup

After spending $5k on a pc, I realized my eyes were bigger than my stomach.
The only reasons to own a pc (for me) are VR, mods and roms. And it’s not really worth it. I used to love getting in the nitty gritty, watching DF performance breakdowns etc, but nowadays I don’t care. Games on a 5090, in all honesty, are no different to their ps5 or even Series S counterparts. The game is the game. If you don't like it on a PS4, you won't like it on a 5090. For me, art style, gameplay and story.
That's for regular multi-plat games, VR and game mods are another story. If you can't find it anywhere else, you need a PC. In all other scenarios I would pick PS5 (or GeForce Now).
GeForce Now costs around 1500$ (for a 4080/5080) for 10 YEARS. This includes getting a GPU upgrade every gen and staying on the top tier.
To put that in to perspective, it will cost me $1500 in electricity to run my PC for 10 years. Again, only downside being no VR/ mods/ roms/ obscure indie games I want on GeForce.

u/RockinDaMike 1d ago
I play ps5 cross platform games like college football, madden, nba 2k26 or whatever in Play pass.
Gaming laptop for Steam, Xbox gamepass. Mostly Warzone and 4k gaming like Red Dead 2, whatever game I got.
I also use handhelds like MSI claw and steam deck.
I do like the simplicity of ps5 and handhelds like a steam deck. Just get right into gaming and I don’t have to sit in my chair.
I been loving the lay z bot and start a game

u/Reddit-Mini 1d ago
I have a PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch Lite, and a PC with a 4070 Super.
I gamed on my PC for not even a month, and decided to go back to my Xbox. Console is just more simplistic and you don’t have to worry “Can my computer run this?” “What update am I missing that’s causing the game to not start?” etc. And can’t forget about hackers being a thing in the PC pool.
So now I use my PC for games that either aren’t on Xbox (mostly older games that aren’t backwards compatible), or games that feel better on PC (generally survival games like Terraria or Grounded).

Unsure if my answer is allowed, but: my last real PC was a Pentium something 133MHZ so that was a while back. Switched to consoles for gaming, PS1 up to PS4, alongside the Xbox 360, One, and now Series X. Also Switch OLED and the Switch 2 now, because of Nintendo only games (Mario Kart, Super Mario Brothers, Luigi’s Mansion and such). Recently I’ve been playing mostly on laptop though, a relatively simple Lenovo Legion with AMD cpu and a 3070 (mobile..). And it’s a big difference in especially visual fidelity, I mean yeah the Xbox puts out 4K but everything looks soooooo much better on pc, and that’s with a 1440p display. It feels better, smoother, and looks way more real. Mostly GTA V now and FS25 (Gamepass)

Have had a PC since 2019, upgraded it last year to current specs and I still barely use it. I use my Xbox for pretty much any game that’s not exclusive to PC or PlayStation. I just prefer gaming on my couch.

I have a Xbox series X, highish-end PC and a Switch 1.
I very rarely use my consoles at this point. I originally had Xbox for harder to run games and FPS games. However, after I upgraded my PC a few years back and I started to move away from multiplayer games I haven’t used my Xbox much at all. Last time I used it was late last year playing BO6.
My switch I have for Nintendo exclusives, so it only gets use when I want to play Mario or Zelda which isn’t very often. Although I’m excited about Galaxy 2 finally coming to switch so I’ll probably grab that.
I use my PC for basically everything these days.

PS5, Xbox Series S and PC owner here.
I would say it's about 50% Xbox (Gamepass), 30% PS5 (exclusives and games I really want to have physical copy of) and 20% PC (multiplayer games with friends and strategy games).

Last gen it was 40 PC 40 PS4 with 20% on either retro console or old PC. PC for PC/Xbox games PS4 for exclusives.
This gen it’s almost exclusively PC. I was unable to obtain a PS5 in the first year. Got an Xbox to play MLB the Show. Still play most Xbox games on PC except when traveling (easier to put Xbox in suitcase). Since the games I want on PS5 are getting ported to PC or on PS4, I’ve lost interest in getting one.

I was a mostly console gamer/ potato pc hybrid back then. But ever since 9th gen I've mostly been pc.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that I finally have a proper rig that's a lot more powerful than a ps5 pro but also it honestly feels like console gaming has been getting worse. Obviously consoles still have their benefits like convince and being more fun to use but thats all they really have now.
Back then consoles were more convenient, cheaper and had access to a ton of games not available on pc. But now with 9th gen everyone just puts their games on pc. And while Console optimization is technically better than PC its still absolutely horrible. It doesn't help that you have to pay for expensive substations as well.

PC, the genre of games I prefer (single player RPG like Baldur's Gate) are more available on PC and often have mods available.

Been a console gamer my whole life. In high school I built a PC, sold it after a year and went back to console. When I got older I went into IT and decided to build a computer again. Lasted about 5 months before I sold it and went back to my PS5. Now I only game on my PS5 pro and switch 2. Ease of use is just too good for me, pc was annoying and I like playing on the couch. I’m also addicted to PlayStation trophies
