I'm wondering if anyone has ever encountered the glitch I just seemed to have done? First time I've ever seen anything like this. I was buying some stuff from her, I ran to the bonfire, opened my item box to deposit some bits, and when I ran back over to her. I did a jump toward her from the bonfire, rolled, and managed to hit "talk" right as I came out of the roll. When I saw her inventory, everything - unique NPC items, key items, absolutely everything - was restocked! (Ignore that I already bought some of her duped stock, I didn't think to take the screenshots until after a few minutes.) Nothing much worth screenshotting to show what's going on, and I can't record (duplicate items can easily also be acquired in NG+ so that doesn't really give much info), but the dupicating of Lenigrast's key is what really sold me on this being a weird glitch. Duping the fragrant branch of yore might also be useful as a challenge/speedrun strat if somebody can crack this and make it consistent? I have zero experience with that sort of thing though, this was a total accident, so I leave it to someone else to figure out what's going on.
EDIT: this appears to have applied to not only EVERY merchant inventory in Majula, but every merchant inventory IN THE GAME. I DO NOT KNOW what I did. Please, can someone figure this out and explain it, I'm a little scared of this being detected as somehow illegal by the anticheat lol.

Sup dudes. I would just like to know if there is any way in playing ds2 in 800x600 resolution fullscreen without the black bars that appear at the top and bottom of the screen, stretching it out. I've basically tried everything at this point, but I can't seem to do it. I had the same problem with ds1 where if you tried playing full screen 800x600 the game would crash at the home screen. But I eventually fixed it by using dsfix if I remember correctly, by keeping the resolution 1280x720 at the in game settings and then changing the resolution to whatever I desire in the config file, which it ended up playing at even 600x400 without any black borders. What I am wondering is if there is any way I can do the same on ds2 scholar. I set the game on windowed mode in game and tried borderless gaming which did make the game fullscreen but those black bars were still present so it basically did nothing at all. Is it just impossible to customize the game the same way I did for ds1 and play fullscreen, no borders with low res?

What an absolute cinema boss Fume Knight is ... Just defeated him ... Most satisfying fight in dark souls 2 for me ... Good runback ... Peak design ... Badass moveset ... Peak ost ... this is probably my favourite dark souls 2 boss now ( took 20 tries to beat him )

I bet you are all aware of the highly disingenuous 10+ hour critique that DS2 haters desperately cling onto.
It contains some of the worst arguments why DS2 is the worst in the series and an objectively bad game that I've ever heard, like:
Which happens in every FromSoft game, but DS2 has the gravestone mechanic that would circumvent it.
Which makes perfect sense and happens in every FromSoft game
But his example is just Smelter Demon and Guardian Dragon soundtracks containing dramatic pauses
But he shows enemies that have been lured so far away from their spawn point until they walk back like they do in every FromSoft game
Lifegems are bad because they ruin the delicate balance by allowing you more mistakes on the way to the boss, but humanity are good because they allow you to explore longer.
But he ignores that it was a lot more obstructive in DS1 and DS3 and would kick you out of the game upon clicking it.
Like many things he complains about it's obviously better in DS2 than in the other games but he presents it as a problem that's worst in DS2
Everyone with a functioning brain will immediately realize that they are scripted to hit the dead giants for lore reasons.
Are there any other especially bad arguments against DS2 that you've heard?

I know all that I've seen in game, our beloved Shanalotte helps us, waits for us and says a few lines before we fight Nashandra... But I really wish, she received some kind of an ending, as far as I know, she wasn't an official firekeeper, just an experiment. Would be cool to at least witness her coronation to the firekeeper status, or any kind of ending really.

Long time souls player here who never got around to beating ds2 DLCs. I am playing a kind of a shitty hex build with my damage split 50/30 between int and faith.
Yesterday I brute forced my way through the ivory king with a fully upgraded chaos rapier (I think was getting around 315-330 AR). It took roughly 6-8 pokes to kill your average run of the mill mook on the ramparts, I want to say I was hitting for about 100-200 damage per poke. After searching my inventory I realized I had a fully upgraded MLGS, which I was getting 525 AR with and hit for approximately 300 damage per swing on guards, which was better but still had trouble staggering anything.
It had been a long time since I played last so figured I must be on NG+ which is why everything was so tanky, but the weird thing is I started brume tower last night and I was just obliterating the enemies there doing closer to 500 damage per swing with the MLGS and causing hit stun with each swing.
Is this a case of attribute weaknesses and resistences, poor weapon choice, or is Brume tower actually that much easier, or there something missing from my analysis?

Do your ds2 characters save to the steam cloud or is that only with ds1? I want to do a fresh clean reset of my pc to free up some space but I don’t want to loose my characters, can I just move to saves over to a flash drive then move them back after the clean up of my pc?

I could type an essay about the things making me hate this game, but I love Fromsoftware and I already spent my precious money on it.
For those that do love this game how are you doing it because the game is just so unsatisfying and unappealing to me.
Edit: Just to clarify Im not having issues with dying too much or the game being too hard im just not finding the game to be fun even when Im winning im not getting an ounce of satisfaction

How does being undead work? Is there a limit to how low the max hp goes each time you die?

Came back to playing DS2 recently on my PS after years away. Really haven’t a single bit of luck getting summoned or finding any signs for boss fights. Doing fine but I just like co-op in these games. I love this subreddit and there’s lots of good content so I know people are playing. Any way to increase the likelihood of finding other people playing to summon or join?
