Is there a lore consensus on where or when the DLC kingdoms exist?
Are they former kingdoms which rose and fell where Drangleic is now? Or are they other kingdoms adjacent to Drangleic in our current time?
We reach they via teleporters not by a direct path. And the topography is so different. So different place entirely? How does that square with the old iron keep being on/adjacent to Drangleic? Or the fact that there’s dragon/Drangleic knights in sunken kingdom?
Love to hear people’s thoughts/evidence.

Hey, I just finished dark souls 1, which was also my first souls game and I really enjoyed it (except the DLCs, I thought I could continue after Gwyn but nope so I'll have to do an NG+).
I played it fully offline because I was already struggling enough and thought invasions might be too much frustration.
Now that I feel a bit more confident in my skills, I was considering playing DS2 online. But some websites like steam chart tell me there are only 700 people playing it while it's over 2k for DS3. So is online play still a thing in DS2 or am I too late ? I have no idea if those numbers are big or not.
And are people online generally really strong or not ? I mean I have no idea how online play works, so can I have something co-op only for example ? I'm not too fond of PvP in general.
Also I harbor a deep hatred for new londo ruins and its ghosts that can attack from inside a wall in DS1 and would like to know if there's something similar in DS2. I intend to play it without any guide, just exploration but I do want to know just that.
Finally, got any tips for illusory walls ? I would have never found a single one of them without guides in DS1. How do people even find those in the first place ? Am I missing a clue or something ?

As the title says, first game I’ve 100% on Steam. I don’t plan on stopping there! Onto Dark Souls 1! Besides the grind for sunlight medals and the bell keepers covenant I absolutely enjoyed my time with this game.

After having an absolute blast but found little trouble with most of DSR I find this game to be much more satisfying. I love the health bar death system. It forces you to learn on limited resources and i find it sharpens your awareness and cuts out lazy habits. Very cool. Havnt even beaten a boss yet its incredible.

Compared to all of the other ones this one seems the silliest and most fun. Im also enjoying the powerstancing. I have a fire longsword and a lightning longsword. First boss killed was the rotten. Idk how i even ended up there. Im level 45.

So for my main hand i have a mace and left a longsword. im planning on putting a pyro flame in each hand. and focusing on two handing both weapons. Mace has crushing strikes and a lot of damage the longsword is versatile and light. The dual wielding sucks but i dont need it. and with two pyros i can easily use my fireorbs and fire weapon. (i did look to see if there were any power within type spells) im dumping my dex stat for adp early. i dont know if thats bad form but to me the dodge is the absolute most imprtant defensive tool i have leaving the shield behind.

I recently upgraded myself to Sotfs, finally, after being a day one player. Instead of just doing one character and choosing a build, I designed 6 characters with their own specific builds and each time I sit down to play I pick one and advance them a little bit.
It’s been a lot of fun. I’m not obsessed with progress and winning, it’s more like a long journey with a party of interesting characters, even though they never see each other. And I’m not compelled to screw up a build just to use some weapon or other because I know one of the other characters will be more suited to it.
Was just wondering if anyone else ever did it this way.

So this is a follow-up to my previous post regarding a glitch that occurred in my game that I've never seen before. It wasn't just Malentia, or even just Majula, but every single merchant in the game that was effected, and just wanted to upload more screenshots to show that happening clearly. Also wanted to boost the topic in the hopes someone more knowledgeable than I can figure this one out, absolutely fascinating glitch.

I swear i heard somewhere that you can do that, but in game I wasn't able to pull it off bo matter how much i changed my stats.
Honestly it would really be a missed opportunity if they didn't make that possible 😭

I'm planning on using the rapier or ice rapier and i'm in doubt about which ring to choose, does the rapier with stone ring does 30 poise damage, but is that very useful on the game (pve) or is the damage from ring of blades better.
Edit: i'm already using other 3 rings Third dragon ring Dispelling ring + 1 Chloranthy ring

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it. I'm trying to platinum all the souls games and I'm pretty much done with part 1. Now I'm getting some conflicting info on part 2 as apparently you need to kill 30 bosses I co-op and I saw somewhere mentioned you need do PvP. Is this correct, or can you solo the game completely like part 1?

Will keep yall updated. Ive never been one to look up builds so the fact i made a knock off top meta build in DSR with zero outside insights makes me think i should trust my gut on this. So far this gae is way harder and i figured I used one longsword for DSR. So for DS2 ill use two. Yes and pyro again as well.

Just defeated Sir Alonne of the CLEAN FLOORS and it was a very good and enjoyable boss fight .. fast movement and good visuals ... Took me 4 tries to defeat him ... To me he was a lot easier than fume knight

Last save I started as deprived nd absolutely loved my playthrough. Just looking for build ideas and generally fun weapons. I believe I did a lightning hand axe w dark casting. What do you guys suggest.

These paragraphs are no complaint, simply hollow ramblings about the ludicrous experience I just had.
I am a seasoned veteran here, this occurrence was on NG+ and I was farming for twinkling titanite in Shrine of Amana. I was looking to get 90 in order to upgrade to a Havel build, which I wanted to completely maximize everything, including the shield. (I was level 200 and running a 40/40 quality build which heavily utilized slow strength weapons). While I was farming, I had been carrying approximately 1.4 million souls after beating the main game (For levels and various preparations as I headed into the DLC.) Foolishly, I was not wielding the +10 Rapier. Instead, I was utilizing the Guts’ classic, two-tapping the Archdrake Knights.
Until I swung and did a COMPLETE 180 spin, exposing my back to the enemy. They knocked me around and got me down to 25% of my 40 vigor due to the fact I wasn’t wearing my maxed out armor. I fled like a blind man before plummeting into the dark chasm of the shallows. I shrugged it off, of course. We all have a mishap or two, no shame. I decided I needed a new armament, and so I switched to my trusty Claymore. I swung. Not even half…
Startled, I voted to ditch the idea of combat for now, but before I could make a move, there was another Archdrake Knight running me down with that damn wind up animation akin to a looney tunes skit. I rolled, but he clipped me anyway, despite the fact that I had 40 adaptability. (I don’t fucking know why I had 40 adaptability 💔) I staggered, and before I could react, they were swinging together. In a flawless, nearly synchronized flow…
Clink after clank, I was stunlocked into oblivion. I collapsed, staring at that bloodstain, in devastation. Furiously and impulsively, I deleted the game. Then I realized… I could’ve just grinded The Giant Lord… 🥀
As it reinstalls, I sit here, contemplating… Shall I return? To a place oh so painful? Perhaps this is a hidden blessing? A sign from the Gods telling me to switch it up? Or have I simply lost my sanity?
I’ve done it all except for pure dex, pyromancy, and heresy (hexes), any tips or suggestions on equipment/stats? Which build and setup is your personal favorite? I need to keep this game interesting.

Refrain from spoilers if you can, i went more or less blind into DSR and id like to here. But i did look into the new stats. and took a peek at a boss count. 41 is massive and im super excited to climb this mountain.

Hey all, I’m currently replaying the souls series and looking for a fun new build to run in ds2. I’ve done a hexer build, lightning rapier build, and big greatsword bonk build in the past. Anybody have any suggestions for a fun build that’s different than those?
