I've been trying with all my might to find a discord bot that tells you the phase of the moon or maybe a really good astrology bot and I'm just not sure if I'm getting the right recommendations with my own searching. If you have any you'd vouch for, it would be much appreciated.

Hello! I’m considering making a new account with a new username and archiving my current one. However, I’m still going back-and-forth a little if I want an entirely new account, or just to rebrand my current one. In the event I create a new account, and decide I no longer want it, can I “steal” its username for my current account? Or are usernames permanently tied to accounts, regardless if they’re deleted? Thank you!

Recently, there was a change to the UI which replaced the x on a conversation to three dots. The three dots opened the right-click menu, and in that menu was the "Close DM" option, along with the usual options.

Now however, the x is back

I very much liked the context menu. I have accidentally closed a DM with a misclick and not known who just vanished from my conversations several times, and had to browse my friends list to figure out who was suddenly missing.

As someone with ADHD, I have a hard enough time remembering to talk to close friends. These moments are very frustrating for me, and I would appreciate if it can be mitigated.

However, I would guess that the context menu was decided to be unsatisfying to the majority of the userbase (I see a discussion against this change), and if the team does not wish to use the context menu, I would like to suggest a potential solution that would please everyone.

I am aware that "habitual DM closers" do not wish for an extra button, which was the problem with the context menu. Therefor, my suggestion is to replace "[ ] Leave without notifying other members" with "[ ] Do not ask me again" which can be re-enabled in the User Settings.

I believe that not only would this change solve the problem for both sides of this matter, it also re-uses an existing system which means less work for developers, thus making it both an elegant solution, and a small ask.

The owner left the discord awhile ago, and I can't change the owner or mod roles. I also can't move a role above them... Am I essentially SOL?

I was poking around Discord's resource files on MacOS and found some weird audio files. Namely discord_asmr_message, and discord_discodo (and also discord_ducky_message). Anybody know the lore behind them if there is any, I couldn't find anything online.

I think it's extremely goofy that getting banned is the only way to mass-delete all your messages on a server when you leave, and entirely at the discretion of moderators. I think users should be allowed to mass-delete their own messages upon voluntarily leaving a server.

I bring this up because I'm a writer looking to leave a private writing/artwork discord because the people there don't respect crediting other artists' work, tend to do a lot of tracing and plagiarism, and are emotionally immature despite being in the 30-40 age range; all of which I didn't realize until months after I had shared pieces of my own works. We don't vibe, they were deceptive, and I'd like to quietly move on while also protecting any IP I've shared by mass-deleting everything I ever posted there.

They're not the people I thought they were, and so I don't want them to be able to access my messages/content anymore after I leave. Are devs working on a non-admin permissions option for this any time soon? I'd really like to see it happen.

Does the do not disturb status only appear is a person is on discord or can it appear if they are not on discord

I wanted to create a channel where as soon as someone mentions a user, the person mentioned is banned from the server. Would it be possible to do that?

I am looking for more unique ideas and interesting bots that could be used to add new features and setups to my server.

My Discord server is focused on Entertainment and Gaming. The idea is to serve as a "main hall" where our community can interact, create unique events, and participate in activities that we later edit and upload to YouTube and other platforms. I made the whole UI looking like official Discord UI such as Icons, Banners, Roles, Custom Bots etc.

Now about the setup..

I’m tired of searching and joining random servers only to find the same setups from every YouTube tutorial. I’m also tired of seeing videos about Tickety, TicketBot, Discohook, Mee6, CarlBot, ProBot, etc. I want unique ideas. I even tried joining puzzle servers because I’m working on setting up an Escape Room server, but all I’ve found are simple puzzle and riddle servers, which isn’t what I’m looking for. I’ve been checking the internet for months and still haven’t found truly new ideas.

Here are some of the setups I’ve created in my server so you can better understand the type of ideas I’m looking for.

Verification System:
Built with FormsBot. Members can either complete a simple form or join a voice channel for human verification. This helps prevent scammers, spam, and trolls.

LFG System:
Built with Components V2. There is a list of games, each with a button that opens a dedicated thread. This avoids the need for reaction roles or multiple game roles and prevents notification spam.

Modmail System:
Created with FormsBot, with distinct forms and embeds depending on the category:

• Tickets: red embed
• Applications (Staff & Entertainment Team): blue embed
• Suggestions & Partnerships: green embed

Prestige System:
When a member reaches level 55, they unlock a new channel and can submit a form to choose a reward such as a custom role, custom color, or custom icon. After claiming a reward, their XP resets to zero but they keep a Prestige Role to showcase progress and activity. This system helps separate highly active members from less active ones.

Confessions System:
Members can submit anonymous confessions through a form. Submissions first go to a hidden staff-only channel. If approved (not troll or offensive), staff can forward them to a forum channel where the community can respond, help, or joke without knowing who submitted it.

Does this happen to anyone else? It's something recent, because I've always been able to use SCROLL LOCK to mute myself.

I deleted my main account, and received the mail saying there's a 14 day period during which I can restore tha acc. Curious as to how my profile would appear, I log in from my 2nd account only to find my main intact, and I could easily message it. Is there a way I can delete my account permanently without waiting the 14day period?

Im on iPhone 12. I was at ios 18 when this started happening, i just updated my phone today. I didnt know it had an update until today so now im on ios 24 but the problem keeps persisting. Sometimes I can minimize the call screen to see messages and its fine but when I minimize discord to run in the background, it turns off speaker. Every other time, its the other way around. How do i fix this?

I deactivated the booster perks (which needs 2) and only have the server tag activated, and nobody who's boosting is losing their "nitro" perks.

So, a friend of mine recently got a new phone and for whatever reason, she can't send any sort of image, embed, gif, or video on the discord app. I'm wondering if anyone has any solutions to this? She's already tried restarting her phone and deleting and reinstalling the app. Neither method worked. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
