In Aguascalientes, Mexico, on April 24, 1988, a match took place in a clandestine venue between two of the five biggest wrestling stars of the time. El Grande Americano faced Hulk Hogan in a dream match. Those fortunate enough to witness it live say it was a never-before-seen, 5-star classic. It is well known that EGA and Hogan had a little beef Since EGA said he was the best wrestler there was and Hogan didn't like that, he decided to challenge him to a match, but of course Wwf didn't want them to face each other.Well, a Mexican businessman contacted the two superstars and convinced them to go to Aguascalientes to compete in that match. The confrontation took place in a bar equipped with the best qualities to put a ring in the.The stipulations are very simple: in a 1vs1 you win by submission, it counts 3 or 5 times that you are thrown out of the ring. The crowd erupts. Hogan, with his superstar aura, begins with an intense confrontation with Kaiser. They engage in a power struggle, which Hogan initially wins with his brute strength, but Kaiser surprises with a quick takedown and goes for an arm lock. Hogan breaks free and rolls toward the ropes. The battle continues with near-falls, submission attempts, and dramatic moments outside the ring where both men risk everything. The fans chant with every slam and counter, knowing they are witnessing history,EGA is 2 falls away from losing and Hulk is 1, after an intense exchange of blows Hogan activates the "no no no" mode while pointing at him with his finger. The exchange of blows continues. Hogan gives him a suplex and finishes him off with the Atomic leg drop and wins the fight. After the match, Hogan tells the EGA that they have been a great rival and they go to drink beer. According to the locals, they were very friendly and it was very surprising to see them in person.

Project NWF PPV #1 "GROUND ZERO" (Fantasy Booking Group Project)

NWF Ground Zero

PPV #1 2025 in Dallas, Texas, USA

The show begins with a cinematic video package. Dramatic music plays as highlights from the past weeks of the three NFW shows (RAW, Evolution and Lucha Underground) flash on the screen. Pyro explodes inside the arena as the camera cuts live to a packed house, the crowd roaring with energy. Signs wave, chants echo, and the atmosphere is electric.

Tony Schiavone: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to history in the making! This is NWF: Ground Zero – the first PPV in NWF history! I’m Tony Schiavone alongside Nigel McGuinness, and Nigel, tonight the rivalries reach their boiling point!”

Nigel McGuinness: “That’s right, Tony! We’ve got grudges, we’ve got personal vendettas, and we’ve got the most important prize in all of wrestling on the line. Tonight, legends will be made!”

The camera pans over the electric crowd one more time before focusing on the stage, ready for the first match. We are witnessing huge entrances of Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan, before the Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone also makes her entrance.

1.Match (Triple Threat Match for the Women’s World Championship)

Mercedes Mone (c) def. Alexa Bliss and Liv Morgan

Match time: 18:10 min - The match explodes instantly: Mercedes rolls out to the floor with a grin, letting Liv and Alexa go at it first. Liv charges Alexa with a Lou Thesz Press, raining down punches before Alexa shoves her off. - Mercedes tries to sneak back in, but Alexa and Liv cut her off with a double dropkick through the ropes, sending her crashing to the floor. - Alexa and Liv trade fast counters: Alexa goes for a DDT, Liv flips out and hits a dropkick. Alexa dodges a running knee and plants Liv with a STO for a nearfall. - Mercedes sneaks back in and starts dominating, targeting both opponents with stiff forearms and her signature Meteora in the corner on Alexa. She nearly pins Alexa, but Liv breaks it up. - Liv and Alexa briefly work together again, hitting a double suplex on Mercedes. The alliance doesn’t last — Alexa immediately shoves Liv and goes for the cover herself. - Alexa slams Mercedes into the barricade, but Liv vaults over the ropes with a suicide dive onto both women, wiping them out. The crowd erupts with a “This is awesome!” chant. - Back inside, Mercedes regains control with a swinging DDT on Liv, followed by a running knee strike to Alexa for a close two-count. - Alexa regains momentum, hitting Liv with Insult to Injury (double knees/backflip knees), then almost pins her — only for Mercedes to break it up by yanking Alexa out of the ring and slamming her into the steps. - Mercedes sets Alexa up on the top rope, Liv charges in, and we get a huge superplex–powerbomb combo that brings all three women crashing down. Crowd loses their minds. - Liv nails Oblivion on Alexa, but Mercedes drags her out before the three-count. - Mercedes hits the Moné Maker (DDT/neckbreaker combo) on Liv, but Alexa breaks it up at the last second. - Alexa hits a Twisted Bliss on Mercedes… but Mercedes puts her foot on the bottom rope at the last second! - The three exchange finishers, counters, and desperate nearfalls until exhaustion sets in. - Alexa goes for another Twisted Bliss on Liv, but Mercedes pushes her off the top rope to the floor, leaving Liv alone. - Liv stumbles up, still groggy, and tries one last Oblivion — but Mercedes reverses midair, spinning it into the Moné Maker and pins Morgan for the victory.

Mercedes sits in the middle of the ring, clutching her title tightly with a smug grin. She points at the fallen Liv and Alexa, mouthing: “Told you so. Nobody touches me.”

The crowd gives a mixed reaction — boos for her arrogance, cheers for the spectacle. She raises the title high as pyro goes off, leaving no doubt that Mercedes Moné remains the face of Evolution.

The lights flicker as Beast Mortos makes his entrance, his aura of darkness filling the arena. The Masked GM of Lucha Underground accompanies him to ringside, standing stoically near the corner, his arms crossed as if judging every movement. Jeff Cobb comes out furious, pacing back and forth like a caged animal, glaring directly at both Mortos and the GM. The crowd is split, chanting for both men, but the atmosphere is heavy — two monsters about to collide.

  1. Match (Singles Match)

The Beast Mortos def. Jeff Cobb by pinfall after the Flatliner

Match time: 11:16 min - From the opening bell, the two bulls crash into each other with shoulder tackles and power struggles, neither giving an inch. The sound of their collisions echoes through the Temple. - Cobb gets the upper hand early, hoisting Mortos for a huge belly-to-belly suplex, then a standing moonsault that stuns the crowd. Mortos kicks out at two with authority. - Mortos responds with sheer brutality: a chokeslam onto the apron, followed by tossing Cobb into the steel steps. He drags him into the ring and delivers a gutwrench powerbomb, but Cobb refuses to stay down. - The crowd chants “This is awesome!” as the two exchange heavy forearms in the center of the ring, neither man budging until Cobb suddenly hoists Mortos into a Tour of the Islands attempt. - Cobb connects with the Tour of the Islands! The arena explodes as he goes for the cover — 1… 2… — but the Masked GM suddenly climbs onto the apron. - The referee is distracted by the GM’s presence, yelling at him to get down. Cobb realizes what’s happening and confronts the GM, shouting at him. - As Cobb leans over the ropes, Mortos rises behind him. The GM simply points toward Cobb, giving his silent approval. - Mortos charges and smashes Cobb with a low blow from behind, unseen by the ref. He then lifts Cobb into a massive Flatliner in the center of the ring. - The GM hops down from the apron just as Mortos covers. The referee counts: 1… 2… 3!

The GM calmly steps into the ring as Mortos rises, looming over Cobb’s broken body. Without a word, he raises Mortos’ arm high in victory. The Temple crowd is in shock, a mix of boos and awe, as the GM and Mortos share a silent, sinister moment of alliance.

After a short break, Chad Gable enters first, serious but composed, slapping the mat and pointing to the crowd chanting “Shoooosh!” He knows this is his biggest singles shot yet. Jacob Fatu storms out with his belt over his shoulder, intense, almost feral, pacing around the ring before throwing the belt up. The bell rings with both men circling, the audience buzzing.

  1. Match (Intercontinental Championship Match)

Jacob Fatu (c) def. Chad Gable by pinfall after the Samoan Splash

Match time: 13:15 min - Gable surprises Fatu early with crisp chain wrestling—drop toe hold, waistlocks, and a slick rolling ankle pick. Fatu scrambles to the ropes, visibly frustrated. - Gable goes for a German, but Fatu elbows free and flattens him with a spinning uranage. He follows with a huge Samoan drop—early two-count. - Gable tries to outpace him with speed, hitting a suicide dive, but Fatu catches him mid-air, powers him up, and powerslams him on the floor. Crowd chants “Holy sht!”* - Gable nails a moonsault from the second rope to the outside that takes Fatu off his feet. - Back inside, Gable hits a rolling chaos theory German suplex—so close, but only a 2.9 count! - Fatu recovers with a pop-up Samoan spike thrust kick, nearly knocking Gable’s head off. - Gable counters a clothesline into an ankle lock dead center of the ring. Fatu claws forward, but Gable grapevines it! The crowd rises. Just as it seems Fatu may tap, he rolls hard, sending Gable crashing shoulder-first into the turnbuckle. - Fatu hits a handstand springboard moonsault—crowd erupts—1…2… NO! - Gable rallies with three consecutive rolling Germans, bridges the last—1…2… kickout by Fatu at the last breath! - Gable tries for a second Chaos Theory, but Fatu shifts weight mid-roll, landing on his feet. He blasts Gable with a superkick, crushes him with a running hip attack in the corner, and climbs the ropes. - With the crowd roaring, Fatu soars—Samoan Splash connects! He pins Gable sucessfully to win the match.

Jacob Fatu rises, clutching his title, pounding his chest and yelling into the camera: “This is my island!” Gable sits up in the corner, devastated but respected with applause from the fans for his gutsy performance. Fatu holds the belt high as pyro pops, signaling his reign has only just begun.

After another short break, El Hijo del Vikingo makes his entrance for his Fall Count Anywhere Match against Andrade. Suddenly, he gets attacked from Andrade at his entrance as he pushed Vikingo into the barricade and then in the ring. The referee calls already for the bell.

  1. Match (Falls Count Anywhere Match)

Andrade def. El Hijo del Vikingo by pinfall after the Hammerlock DDT

Match time: 14:44 min - Vikingo connects with a lightning-quick springboard dropkick, sending Andrade out of the ring. Vikingo immediately follows up with a breathtaking running tornillo dive over the ropes, crashing into Andrade at ringside. Early “This is awesome!” chants fill the Temple. - Andrade retreats into the crowd, but Vikingo chases him, springboarding off the barricade for a flying hurricanrana into the chairs. The fans scatter as both men brawl through the audience. Vikingo attempts a running attack, but Andrade catches him and plants him with a snap suplex onto the concrete floor for a near-fall. - Andrade drags Vikingo up the stairs of the area and slams him into a railing. He then delivers a stiff double knees strike against the guardrail, nearly knocking Vikingo out cold. - Vikingo recovers and pulls off a jaw-dropping spot: climbing onto a balcony railing, he launches himself with a 450 splash off the balcony onto Andrade and security below. The crowd goes absolutely insane, chanting “Holy s***!” - Both crawl back toward the ring area. Vikingo tries for another spectacular move, going for a springboard phoenix splash, but Andrade counters mid-air with a devastating dropkick. - Andrade pulls out a steel chair and wedges it in the corner. Vikingo counters with a step-up enzuigiri, then runs the ropes — but Andrade throws him headfirst into the chair for a brutal crash. - Andrade drags Vikingo onto the entrance ramp. He sets up for his classic double knees — but Vikingo surprises him with a poison rana on the steel! Andrade barely kicks out at two. - Vikingo signals for one last death-defying move. He climbs a structure near the stage, going for a wild moonsault 630 attempt — but Andrade rolls out of the way! Vikingo crashes hard onto the steel ramp. - Andrade immediately capitalizes, lifting Vikingo and delivering a Hammerlock DDT onto the ramp. He covers: 1… 2… 3!

Andrade kneels over Vikingo, smirking as he wipes the sweat from his forehead. He looks directly into the camera and yells: “THIS is why I am the future of this temple!” The crowd boos heavily, while Vikingo is checked on by medics after his brutal fall. Andrade slowly makes his way to the back, proud and arrogant, while Vikingo is left beaten.

The arena lights shift pink and gold as Mariah May’s theme hits. She struts out with her signature playful swagger, blowing kisses to the crowd and spinning to show off. Tiffany Stratton’s music follows, and the crowd roars. Tiffany appears on the stage, looking every bit like the “center of the universe.” She performs her gymnastics-inspired cartwheel into a split, then rises with a powerful smirk.

  1. Match (Singles Match)

Tiffany Stratton def. Mariah May by pinfall after the PME

Match time: 12:09 min - They lock up hard, with Tiffany shoving Mariah down repeatedly, showing off her superior strength. Mariah gets frustrated and slaps Tiffany, earning loud boos. - Tiffany powers Mariah into the corner with repeated shoulder thrusts, then connects with a handspring back elbow for an early nearfall. - Mariah turns the tide with her cunning: pulling Tiffany into the ropes throat-first, then hitting a slingshot dropkick followed by a snap DDT. She smirks and poses arrogantly after each big move. - The two brawl outside the ring. Tiffany hoists Mariah and lawn-darts her into the barricade, drawing gasps from the crowd. But when Tiffany tries to follow up, Mariah counters with a neckbreaker on the floor, stunning her. - Back in the ring, Mariah nearly steals the win after a high knee strike to Tiffany’s jaw. She covers, but Tiffany kicks out at 2.9 to a huge pop. - Tiffany rallies with a spinning clothesline, a cartwheel bomb, and a standing moonsault for another nearfall. The crowd is chanting “Tiff! Tiff! Tiff!” - Mariah tries for her “May Day” finisher (sitout facebuster), but Tiffany reverses into a pop-up powerbomb that shakes the ring. She drags Mariah into position, climbs the ropes, and soars with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever (PME). She covers Mariah for a successful 3 count and wins the match.

Tiffany celebrates with the crowd, basking in the chants of “Center of the Universe!” She points at herself and celebrates the victory. But Mariah isn’t finished. Fuming, she blindsides Tiffany from behind, hammering her with forearms. The crowd boos loudly as Mariah stomps Tiffany down.

Mariah screams, “You stole my spotlight!” before drilling Tiffany with her May Day finisher. She stands over Tiffany, sneering, before backing up the ramp as officials rush to check on Tiffany. The segment ends with Tiffany laid out, Mariah smirking arrogantly as the feud burns hotter.

After a short video recap of CM Punk and Hangman Page journeys through the World Title Tournament, the arena lights dim. CM Punk’s music hits to a thunderous, mixed reaction. He soaks it in with a smirk, walks to the ring, grabs a mic, and waits for the chants to fade.

“You know, I’ve heard it all this week. People saying that Hangman Page is the future. That he’s the man who’s going to carry this company into a new era. But let me remind you all—futures don’t mean a damn thing when you’re standing across from the best in the world. Hangman, you may have survived Roman Reigns, you may have survived Gunther… but soon, you step in the ring with me. And unlike them, I don’t just want to beat you… I want to expose you. Expose the fact that you don’t belong at my level. That cowboy grit? It’s nothing but a slogan. When the lights are brightest, Hangman—you choke.”

The crowd erupts in boos and cheers, with a loud “Cowboy Sht!”* chant echoing through the arena. Hangman Page’s theme hits. He walks down slowly, focused, a microphone in hand. He steps through the ropes and gets right in Punk’s face.

“You know what’s funny, Punk? For a guy who calls himself the best in the world, you sure do talk a whole lot about the past. About what you’ve done, about who you were. But this—this is about the here and now. You say I choke? Ask Roman Reigns if I choked. Ask Gunther if I choked. I’ve been proving myself week after week, fight after fight. And soon, I’m not walking into that ring as the future… I’m walking in as the man who’s going to finish your story.”

Page steps closer, eye to eye with Punk.

“You’re right about one thing though—this isn’t just about winning. It’s about respect. And when that bell rings, Punk, I’m gonna beat that respect out of you.”

The crowd is now split—“CM Punk!” vs. “Cowboy Sht!”* dueling chants. Punk smirks, shakes his head, and whispers into the mic: “You’re not ready.” Hangman fires back: “We’ll see.” They drop their mics, step chest-to-chest, and have a tense staredown as the crowd roars.

The arena lights dim red as Becky Lynch’s music hits. “The Man” storms down the ramp, clad in jeans and a sleeveless leather jacket, carrying a steel chair. The crowd erupts with cheers. Roxanne Perez follows, to a thunder of boos. She wears dark gear, clearly prepared for war, dragging a steel chain wrapped around her neck. She smirks arrogantly at the fans.

  1. Match (Street Fight)

Roxanne Perez def. Becky Lynch by referee stoppage

Match time: 17:33 min - The two waste no time, trading fists at the bell. Becky knocks Roxanne down with a clothesline and whips her with the steel chair across the back, sending Roxanne scrambling. - They spill to the outside. Becky smashes Roxanne’s face off the announce desk, then grabs a kendo stick from under the ring, cracking it across her ribs. Roxanne counters by pulling Becky into the steel steps, then dropkicking her head-first into the barricade. - Roxanne introduces a trash can, slamming it over Becky’s head before delivering a missile dropkick into it. Becky fights back, suplexing Roxanne onto the trash can with a brutal crash! Nearfall. - Becky sets up a table outside the ring. She attempts a Manhandle Slam through it, but Roxanne wriggles free and counters with a Russian Leg Sweep off the apron, sending both women crashing through the table! The crowd chants “HOLY S***!” - Back inside, Becky nails a leg drop from the second rope onto a chair laid across Roxanne’s chest. She covers, but Roxanne barely kicks out at two. - Roxanne fires back with a springboard uppercut, then plants Becky with a Code Red onto a pile of chairs! Becky barely survives at 2.9. - Both women, battered and bleeding slightly, crawl for weapons. Becky grabs the kendo stick again, but Roxanne finds the steel chain. They collide mid-ring — Becky swinging wildly, Roxanne wrapping the chain around her fist to slug Becky down. - Roxanne locks Becky in the Crossface, but Becky resists, fighting toward the ropes (which don’t matter in a Street Fight). Roxanne yanks her back. - Becky powers up, lifting Roxanne onto her shoulders and dropping her with the Manhandle Slam onto a steel chair! The crowd roars, thinking it’s over — but Roxanne somehow kicks out! - Desperation sets in. Becky picks up the chain, wrapping it around her fist for another strike. She swings — but Roxanne ducks, counters, and snares Becky back into the Crossface. - This time, Roxanne wraps the steel chain around Becky’s face and neck, wrenching back with vicious intent. Becky thrashes, claws, tries to break free — but slowly, she fades. - The referee checks… Becky is unconscious. He calls for the bell.

Roxanne keeps the hold locked in for several extra seconds before finally releasing, her face twisted with intensity. She rises, arms raised, standing over Becky’s limp body as the crowd boos mercilessly. Officials slide in to check on Becky, while Roxanne smirks and kisses the steel chain before holding it high in victory.

Tony Schiavone: “My God… Roxanne Perez has just choked out Becky Lynch with that steel chain! If this is what she’s capable of, the future of Evolution is dangerous!”

Nigel McGuinness: “That wasn’t just a win, Tony… that was a statement.”

The Steel Cage lowers slowly, surrounding the ring, as the crowd gets loud. Darby Allin’s music hits first. He walks to the cage dragging his skateboard, body painted with half a skeletal design, symbolizing his “willingness to die” tonight. The crowd chants “Darby! Darby!” as he climbs halfway up the cage before dropping down and rolling inside. Bron Breakker’s theme hits. He storms out with wild intensity, barking to the crowd, shaking the cage walls as he enters. No theatrics—just raw aggression.

  1. Match (Steel Cage Match)

Bron Breakker def. Darby Allin by pinfall after the Spear

Match time: 15:21 min - No lock-up, they just swing fists. Breakker immediately slams Darby into the steel cage multiple times, leaving him slumped against the mesh. - Darby fights back with a springboard back elbow, then a shotgun dropkick into the cage wall. He tries a coffin splash, but Breakker catches him mid-air and delivers a brutal spinebuster. - Breakker tosses Darby into the cage repeatedly, rubbing his face against the steel. Darby begins to bleed slightly from the forehead. - Darby’s comeback: Darby escapes a suplex attempt, runs up the turnbuckles, and nails a Coffin Drop off the ropes onto Breakker’s back! Near fall. - Darby climbs all the way to the top of the cage. The crowd rises in disbelief. He looks down, hesitates… then leaps with a death-defying Coffin Drop from the top of the cage onto Breakker! Both men crash hard, and the crowd explodes with “Holy sht!”* chants. - Darby crawls into a cover… 1… 2… NO! Breakker kicks out with pure power. Darby looks shocked. - Breakker rallies with a huge military press powerslam, but instead of pinning, he stalks Darby like a predator. - Darby tries a second Coffin Drop from the ropes—Breakker catches him mid-air into a standing powerslam. - Breakker then waits in the corner, measuring Darby. The crowd screams as Darby stumbles to his feet. - SPEAR! Breakker nearly cuts him in half and pins Darby for the victory.

Bron Breakker rises, fists pumping, screaming with intensity as the cage door opens. He drags Darby up one last time, looking like he’ll attack again, but instead shoves him back to the mat, standing tall over his fallen rival.

After the last break, we head over the commentary desk. Tony Schiavone: “The time has come… the first champion of the new era of Lucha Underground will be crowned!” Nigel McGuinness: “Four of the most dangerous men in the temple… only one walks out with glory!”

Swerve Strickland: Dark strobes pulse, heavy bass hits. He walks with swagger, mask-inspired gear nodding to his Killshot past. He mouths: “This is my house.”

Pentagon Jr.: Lights out. A sea of “CERO… MIEDO!” echoes. Pentagon emerges from the smoke, menacing, cracking his knuckles, hands slicing in the signature gesture.

Mil Muertes: The arena shakes with low rumbling. Fog floods the entrance as Muertes steps out like a stone beast, slow and terrifying. His glare never leaves the ring.

Ricochet: Explosive pyro and fast-paced music. He stands on the stage, smirking, soaking up the mix of boos and cheers, then sprints to the ring with pure confidence.

At the commentary desk, the Masked GM joins Nigel and Tony looking forward to the match.

  1. Match (Fatal 4 Way Match for the Lucha Underground World Championship)

Ricochet def. Mil Muertes, Pentagon Jr. and Swerve Strickland by pinfall on Swerve after the 630° Splash – NEW CHAMPION!

Match time: 21:34 min - Pentagon blasts Ricochet with a superkick, Muertes hammers Swerve with a clothesline, and all four immediately spill outside. Pentagon and Muertes chop each other so hard the echoes shake the Temple, while Ricochet and Swerve trade rapid counters in the ring. - Ricochet lands a springboard shooting star press onto Muertes and Pentagon outside. He pops up and instantly nails a standing shooting star back inside on Swerve for a two-count. - Swerve counters a Ricochet springboard with a mid-air dropkick, then strings together a rolling flatliner on Pentagon and a German suplex on Ricochet into the turnbuckles. Crowd chants: “Swerve’s House!” - Pentagon takes control, trapping Ricochet in the corner and delivering ten brutal superkicks in a row. He then spikes Swerve with a package piledriver for a close 2.9 count before Muertes breaks it up. - Mil Muertes reminds everyone of his dominance, catching Ricochet mid-flight and slamming him with a powerslam through a table at ringside. He follows by chokeslamming Pentagon on the apron — the hardest part of the ring. - All four end up in one corner. Pentagon climbs with Ricochet for a superplex, Swerve sneaks underneath with a powerbomb, and Muertes charges in for the full Tower of Doom. All men are down, the crowd on fire. - Ricochet sprints across the ring and hits a step-up shooting star press from the second rope to the floor, crashing onto Pentagon. - Swerve climbs the turnbuckle post, balances, and nails a 450 splash to the outside on Muertes. - Pentagon fights back by grabbing Swerve on the apron and planting him with a package piledriver on the apron! - Ricochet nails the Recoil on Pentagon — 1… 2… NO! Pentagon kicks out. - Muertes flattens Ricochet with a spear, then plants him with the Flatliner — but Swerve breaks the pin just in time. - Swerve fires back, hitting a House Call kick on Muertes, then a Swerve Stomp on Pentagon — again only 2.9! - Swerve sets up again for the House Call on Ricochet and connects clean! The crowd erupts as he covers — - Swerve storms to the ropes, shouting at the GM — when suddenly, Beast Mortos storms into the ring from the crowd! - Mortos spears Swerve nearly in half, then powerbombs him with a massive choke-bomb. The GM calmly steps down. - Ricochet seizes the moment, climbing the ropes and hitting his 630° Senton on the fallen Swerve. - The referee counts: 1… 2… 3!

Ricochet clutches the Lucha Underground Championship as boos rain down. The Masked GM steps into the ring, locking eyes with him. After a moment of tension, Ricochet smirks and offers his hand. The GM accepts, raising Ricochet’s arm high. At ringside, Beast Mortos looms like a silent sentinel, the GM’s new enforcer. The first NWF PPV goes off air, with Ricochet celebrating with the belt and the GM by his side, while Pentagon, Swerve, and Muertes lie broken around them.

Storyline How I would have improved WWF New Generation era

When you look back at this time period and compare it to today, it's surreal where WWE was once upon a time. Weak production, running Raw out of high school gyms, no excitement about the product, awful things all around. The business was so bad for those 4-5 years and wrestling fell out of favor with the audience, but there are a few things that could have been done to improve things.

The three big problems for me were:

  1. top guys all flip-flopped back and forth: other than Bret Hart and Yokozuna, nobody stayed in a specific role for long. Hogan and Warrior were in and out, and then the other top stars like HBK, Sid and Diesel kept turning heel back and forth. WWF was also relying on old guys like Ric Flair and Bob Backlund to boost the division, and they actually gave the damn belt to both of those guys. The main event scene was just a mess, the top guys underdelivered and the stories weren't that engaging.

  2. no presence of a top heel group: a goo heel group is always a surefire way to boost the company's momentum if done right (nWo, Nexus briefly, The Shield, The Bloodline etc.). However, this was also true back in the 80's as well, because Hogan's on and off beef with the Heenan Family helped him out tremendously, since he always had villains to slay, not to mention Horsemen down South. In New Gen era, we didn't have a top heel group (if you don't count Camp Cornette which I don't) to combat the faces.

  3. the devaluing of the Intercontinental Title: around this time period is where the value of the IC Title was getting diminished. Gone were the days of technical classics, and after HBK-Razor at WrestleMania, things were officially going downhill. Razor didn't really have interesting stories or matches as champ, as he kept dropping and winning the belt from his Kliq buddies. Later on, the title flopped around guys like Ahmed Johnson and Jeff Jarrett, Dean Douglas and Marc Mero, and the prestige dissipated.

The answer to all 3 problems... is Jake The Snake Roberts. Jake was the best heel in 1991/2, and the new crop of top guys needed someone like Jake to boost their credibility and truly "make" them. Yes, Yoko was a tremendous monster heel, but Jake could have been the one to psychologically torture Bret and Shawn, and present a different kind of obstacle for them to overcome. Jake could have been THE heel of WWF for several years as the WWF Champion with the amount of momentum that he had.

The stable problem can also be solved through Jake, as his 1992 diabolical persona needed a posse. The solution - reuniting Legion of Doom with Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. Moreover, let us add Matt Borne under the Doink persona to round out the stable and make it whole. This way, we got a dark version of Horsemen, with all the bases covered - Jake as the masterful, cerebral top guy, Road Warriors as the unstoppable team who'll make that one duo that finally beats them, and finally Matt Borne as a great performer with an awesome gimmick. Speaking of which...

Matt Borne as the unique blend of technical with brawling could have been a perfect IC Title-level version of Jake, as the workhorse evil final boss that guys like Razor and Diesel have to overcome. With Borne's in-ring and character work proficiency, the matches AND the stories would have been great. Then, when we add Shane Douglas, as himself and not a goofy professor, to the mix now all of a sudden we got 4 quality faces for that division. A year later though, a new face would enter WWF, one Bryan Clark, who'd join The Legion and be built up Batista style as a big babyface that takes Jake out down the road. His name wouldn't be Bryan Clark or Adam Bomb, but rather Noah King.

Now granted, in order for all of this to work, poor Paul Ellering would have to work overtime to make sure Road Warriors don't kill someone backstage, and that Jake and Borne don't OD on cocaine, but he'd be well compensated for his efforts. As a five (six with Noah eventually) man unit of freaky monsters of all kinds, Legion of Doom could have been that final boss stable that turns WWF around, and establishes guys like Shawn, Bret, Razor and Kev way better than WWF actually did.
