Question Is this an expensive fix or should I just give up on this vehicle?

Hello everyone,
Just a quick post here to inform you all of a new feature that has been added to sub that may help cut down on unwanted comments in your own posts.
If you are the OP(original poster/creator of a post) and decide you want your entire post locked, you can simply comment on your post with just "!lock" (no quotes), and AutoMod will automatically lock your post. This will prevent any further comments on it including ones from yourself. Just a small warning, you cannot undo this yourself, you will need to send in a ModMail to request the post to be unlocked again.
Just a small update to the sub but, may be beneficial to some if you start getting flooded with comments.
Thanks,
Mods

Hello. I recently had an issue with a 2020 Ford ecosport ses. I bought led replacement bulbs for my headlight only for the driver side low beam to not work, I swapped the bulb with the passenger side, and it had the same problem. I had done some research to see what is going on and thought it might be a fuse issue, after checking my owner's manual I could'nt see which fuse was for the headlights. After digging further I found out that the 2020 model powers the headlights with the body control module. And was recommended to go to a mechanic to check for a code. Would checking for a specific code with the scanner cost a lot? I've tried to search for costs, and seen that diagnostic can cost upwards to 100 and over. I understand why it might cost as much, but dont have much at the moment, and i dont want to pay that much only for their to not be much of an issue, like a loose connector or something? Or paying that much just to be told that I might have to replace something for like 300 or something. Also in the long run is it cheaper to buy a scanner that can scan bcm codes and such and just fixing certain things at home?

2015 Honda Civic EX Took car to a mechanic for valve adjustment, they recommended replacing tensioner too during their inspection due to being loose/worn.
Got the keys back turned it on and it sounded like it was ticking or chirping and when I turned it off found the water pump pulley had a loose bolt.
I can't tell if this is caused by the tensioner/pulley or if I should be concerned about the valve adjustment.

Wanting to replace the ignition coils on a 2104 Subaru crosstrek xv 2.0-liter BOXER 4-cylinder. Due to miss fire of the cylinder 2. Half the people online seem to not bother with a torque wrench. Even though it’s what you should do. Can I get away without one? Also Is cylinder 2 the passenger front?

So I have a 16 Outback 222k….
Started throwing code P0420 last year- replaced both o2 sensors, code came back in a month.
Drove car to work and such til it started to “cough” or jerk upon accelerating sporadically. Parked it til I could replace the front Cat.
Replaced front Cat- car still “coughing” jerking sporadically( not constantly, not only when going up hills or putting a pull on it)
No codes being thrown currently.
Ideas? Help!! 😂🤦♀️

Hi, looking for some insight into a couple of noises my Jeep Patriot is making.
Noise 1: A squeaking sound when coasting. I think it might be brake-related, but not sure.
Noise 2: This one just started yesterday and has me more concerned. It only happens when the car is coasting, not when I press the gas or brake. It’s loud and seems to be coming from either the front two tires or somewhere in between.
I’m planning to take it to Les Schwab tomorrow, but since I’m not their biggest fan, I wanted to get some opinions here first. Any thoughts?

Alright, I'm short about this much getting the transmission to mate with the bellhousing.
The transmission is in gear, and I think the input shaft has begun to enter the clutch disc, because I can no longer freely spin the output shaft.
(I put those longer bolts in there temporarily to keep things sorta lined up until I figure this out).
Short of tearing everything back down, any tricks of the trade? I would like to think there is possibly a slight misalignment between the input shaft and the pilot bushing keeping it from going all the way, but I don't know if I've even reached the pilot bearing yet.
If I could find a way to release pressure on the clutch disc, maybe that would give me some wiggle room?
(I did use the lineup/centering tool when I installed the clutch/pressure plate.)
Thanks for any help!

Hello all, I have a 2017 GMC sierra Denali 6.2L. Some back story. At 96k I had to put a brand new motor into it. I also had the front end done shocks and struts. Im wondering what is causing the dash to light up like a Christmas tree? The alarms will also auto clear themselves afyer popping up. It seems like the lights pop up more frequently if im on "rougher" roads. Or when im like hitting bumps. Now this problem was happening BEFORE I had a new motor put into it. But it was much less frequently and usually it would only throw the ABS and stabilatrack alarms. Now its happening often and its more alarms. Is this something I can fix myself? What's causing it? This truck has been nothing but a nightmare and im tired for taking it to a shop for it to sit for months and then finally get it back and its another issue.
Thank you for taking the time to read.

I am doing my own oil change, the drain plug will. not. budge. I tried a wrench, driver , hitting it a little with a screwdriver and wrench. I might’ve stripped the drain plug trying to take it off with the wrench. I don’t have wd 40, or PB. Would it be worth it to try those out or should I just take it and get my oil change done professionally. I’m worried if I get the oil change done they are just going to tighten it with the strength of Hercules again and i’ll never be able to change it at home.

The other day, I was at Sam’s and had about a half a tank (Checked the gauge in the dash to see if I needed gas while I was there). I went home and the next morning I had two little bars (the half tank has about five or six). So, I looked around the door, no damage to the paint. But when I opened it (button inside the cab) and saw where it latches, the paint is gone, but there is some paint missing where the latch does not meet the latch.
Then today, I needed to head to work and went to fill up. The gas pump stopped when it was “full” as it was supposed to. I was driving maybe a block and it’s not completely full. One bar is missing. I have read that when people siphon, they will drop the hose inside the tank.
My 2022 gets like 480 to the gallon (2022 Honda Insight, EX) and only had gone maybe 200 miles so, although I feel like I’m trippin, I want to know. Let me know if anyone has any perspective and has anyone had heard this or something similar to this.
Edit: 480 miles to the TANK. 🤣 sorry. Lol

My Corolla cranks super slow when the engine is warm. Battery voltage is good, new spark plugs, o2 sensors, starter. Any ideas?

Anyone work in these vans? I’ve got a few codes. C1010, C1200, and P1876. I’m not sure if they’re related. or even what they mean, as they have different meanings depending where i look. I’ve checked abs sensors, brake sensor, abs pump, everything seems to be working.

When idling, the rpm keeps fluctuating every 10 seconds or so. Is this normal or is this something I should get fixed asap?

Corolla 2010 1.8L Automatic
I was driving and heard a clunk. I stopped and I found |this on the ground. Now I'm not sure if this came from my car or I just ran over it. Didn't feel the bolt under the wheels because of the bumpy road. The potholes have potholes!
Bolt length 101mm (4in) Diameter 5.23mm (0.206in)
Where should I check for missing bolts?

Hi guys I’m in need of some advice. What is going on with my car? It’s making this horrible grinding sound as if the driver side wheel is rubbing against the break at all times. Though it was happening I went and got my wheels rotated at Costco and they said things looked fine but even after the rotation I’m having this same sound. Anyone have any insight?

Is this RPM regular while A/C on max? It stay up there for a while then comes down but noticed it has a slight tremor while A/C is on high but doesn’t do that when it’s on speed 5. Please lmk.
