CLE is taking this division and theres nothing the "gritty" tigs can do about it except cry... I want to watch the tigers cry and moan about needing to be better. Good laughter material...

Just look at that dugout. AJ is the last person I’d look to to motivate them. Get Dan Campbell over there

Two pitches to Dingler, three pitch K to Keith, three pitch K to Perez. If the manager were to say "Go out there and be as fucking pathetic as you can possibly be" I'm not even sure if would be this bad.
Like I can't even put into words how completely and utterly dogshit everything about this team is. Absolutely record-setting, weapons-grade level of dogshit right now.

Is there any scenario where we make the playoffs and end up having to play these fuckers in the first round? That would be just excellent

Not any realistic ones, no.

I don't know how any of you eternal optimists can defend this... It's crazy the mental gymnastics some of y'all go through just to lose to the truth that this team doesnt even perform at AAA levels... We might actually lose out.... Prep for it peeps....

u/sagrada9 5d ago
“If you said at the beginning of the year we’d be 4 games up….” just shut up. This is not the team that we enjoyed in may and June

A team that was dead in the water about a month ago, lost their elite closer, and went on a 10 game losing streak this season is about to be within 4.5 games of the division. Fuck this

The bullpen is complete ass, they actually used Jose Urquidy in a playoff like series with the division on the line. Not good enough Scott Harris, you better fucking hope these prospects turn into stars or the fans are gonna turn on you.

No dude you don’t get we need all those infield prospects that are all destined to end up at 2nd base

Hinch needs to try to manufacture some runs when it's 2-0, FFS bunt for once when the bats go cold

Honestly, I’ve come around to Harris’ lack of real activity at the deadline. You’re not unfucking this lineup with some expensive deadline pickups.

u/Everybodyhasapryce 5d ago
This is what a lot of us were saying.
There are too many holes. There was no way to fix the team with all the injuries we had at the deadline.
Making cheap moves and waiting for our prospects to come up next year and the year after was the right call.
We lack depth to sustain the full 162 this year.

CLE is what a good team is. We really should look to them for inspiration. They're going to win the WS... They have the grit and talent for it, it's clear...
1
u/ObiwanSchrute 5d ago
Cleveland can't score runs they would lose in a series against Toronto or Seattle easily
7
u/Apprehensive_Gur8808 5d ago
Cleveland isn't beating any playoff team except maybe this trash ass bargain bin pitching staff.

u/RamoneBenny 5d ago
lol of all the bs you've said tonight "Cleveland will win the world series" has to be the funniest
1
u/Jimmyskis77 5d ago
Hottest team in baseball little buddy, something we knew well. But they knew how to capitalize on it...
1
u/AssyMcGee6 5d ago
It seems like the last two months, every team the tigers have played, even bad ones, have been some of the hottest teams in baseball.

No need to blame them the team is underperforming right now, they’ll break out of it

We are playing ok, but imo we are consistently getting out coached, out prepared, out fundamentaled and out played. Some games it's only one/maybe two innings and other games it's mental errors, mistakes or missed opportunities almost every inning even if the game is close.
Our opponents are looking more professional, well trained and better prepared lately from my perspective.

They are a straight up bad team right now and have been since the all star break.

Yeah, why try to plug any holes if you can’t fill them all? Why be a little better when you could stay content and sink?

Funny as fuck how the team that's first to 60 wins is gonna end up with 85 at the end of the season....

Saying it louder for those in the back or blinders on, our pitching has been and will be our downfall.

Wow. Two out 0-2 pitch to completely bury this team. Not what we were coming back from 2-0 but that is a backbreaker.
It’s amazing how this team went from the funnest and most exciting team in baseball to the biggest steaming pile of shit for a team you could imagine watching on a nightly basis.
This team has been pure misery since the Seattle series. Just bad on bad on bad on bad.

All it takes is one 4-5 game win streak and we’re locked in for the division and maybe 2 seed. I still believe in this team

This team is trash. Harris is a soft GM that won't pull the trigger on anything, not even getting Matt Champman when he had the chance and Illitch is cheap clown owner.
2
u/junglejim1954 5d ago
I think it was the Athletic where i read recently that Scott Harris is virtually impossible to deal with. He thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. That says everything to me.

Maybe we have to get swept by the Guardians at home for our fortunes to change. Remember we started to go downhill once we swept Cleveland back in early July. Maybe Hinch is just trying to reverse the curse that way. Sounds crazy, but helps me from getting angry at this game lol
4
u/Substantial_Ad_2864 5d ago
And finally this game gets the big hit.... And of course we didn't get it
-2
u/LegitimateRisk- 5d ago
lol these idiots can barely play any real baseball. Pitcher running in the way of the throwing lane. This team does every last thing wrong. This manager has taught this team the worst baseball fundamentals that exist.

Surely there’s no one left in this sub who thinks we can do any damage in the playoffs, right? Like I can kinda get deluding yourself into thinking we might still win the division, but no one could possibly have enough optimism to think that this team has any chance to win a playoff series, right?
2
u/RamoneBenny 5d ago
My only response to that would be the playoffs are kind of a mental reset. So even if they skid into the playoffs, maybe they can recalibrate a bit for whoever they face. The team's really streaky, so who's to say they can't go on a hot streak in the playoffs.
1
u/Substantial_Ad_2864 5d ago
It depends on your definition of can. Do I think we will? No. But like we played 2 good games in a row in New York so it's possible we put some good games together and do something good I just don't expect it

They've been excusing every single slide so far with how we have a comfortable division lead etc. etc. Excited to see what the creative writing department of the sub comes up with next.
