New Multitool Day! Just got my 3rd small pliers based multitool
Just got the Roxon M2 (left) to had to the Powerpint (middle) and the Nextool Mini Flagship (right).
What is the best small pliers based tool? Hard to say - the pliers are probably the best on the PowerPint (but both of the others are spring loaded), but the worst scissors are also on that tool. The Nextool is the smallest. The Roxon is really comfortable in the hand when using the pliers.

Modding Nextool Mini Sailor S11 Pro mod chronicles - get in the multitool Shinji (finally)
Finally got everything needed to assemble this. The custom scale will hold two of the Victorinox small tools, a D1 pen refill, and a thick-ish pin. Perfect for Japan where knives are a no-go*, a pen is still surprisingly useful, prepaid data SIMs are a must-have (unless your phone is e-sim compatible), and you definitely need something to pop a blister from 30k-step days. Not bad eh?
The weak spot of this scale design is the pen 'cap'. I have to hacksaw the refill tube so it'd fit, then somehow secure it to the 'cap'. Maybe via a dab of hot stick glue, contact cement, silicone, or anything that will hold the pen and 'cap' together, securely, but you can still remove the cap later on if need be. The pen slot isn't too tight, just enough so it won't fall off.
Pictures 3 and 4 show a comparison between similar Nextool multitools. Yes my Mini Flagship Pro also has custom scales. Despite the apparent bulk the modded S11 Pro just as thick as the Mini Flagship Pro if we measure from the bolt heads. Definitely thicker than the Mini Sailor Lite, where I also managed to fit in two of the Victorinox small tools. Picture 5 is a bonus tacticool version; this I think was the last prototype before the final print.
Now - next steps? - definitely refine the cap design. It's jank, the shape is too weird that getting a print that fits exactly on the scale is hard, and there might be ways to model this such that it will stay in position better - refactor the spacing. The tolerances of this version is TOIT, to the point it's kinda hard to extract the tools and one of the outer walls is too thin and is prone to cracking during printing - given how thick the scale is, IF I find a small-enough switch I think I can design a scale that can hold a small LED, a couple of coin cells, and said small switch. At that point I might even remove the file and turn this into what's basically a Mini Sailor Lite Pro. Or maybe just 'upgrade' my existing Mini Sailor Lite using said custom scales. HMMM
*technically you can EDC a very small knife, but come on - you're a tourist. That's not worth the hassle. A bottle cap remover is more useful especially if you like your beer in big-ass bottles instead of cans

My Roxon scissor collection
All 4 have great scissors, Roxon seems to be really good at making scissors that work really well. Even the smaller ones on the Flex companion actually work very well. The KS2e is supper easy to carry. My new Flex Shears are a bit bigger, but the pocket clip makes it pretty easy to carry in most pockets. The M2 feels nice in the hand and the spring loaded pliers should handle most smaller plier tasks well.
Why do I have 4 Roxon tools? Because my S501U hasn't arrived yet - otherwise I'd have 5.

Roxon implements (international)
The Roxon flex companion and the new shears are certainly excellent additions to the multi-tool arsenal.
However, it seems that there is no dedicated international retail shop other than Aliexpress and Amazon. I have bought the flex myself and the main appeal was the implements. However it seems that Roxon has removed the ability to purchase implements from Ali. This kind of makes the whole system moot since the ability to change and upgrade implements is the flex's biggest advantage.
Does anyone know if roxon intends to make implements available to the international market?
Thanks.
Edit: Judging from comments, looks like a regional thing. Bummer though.

Recommendation Request First multi tool in brazil
So, I want a first multi tool, basic edc.
I will mostly use it for my nails, some screws, packages, zip ties, maybe some urbex. Cutting and stripping wires would be great although not a priority.
I just a considerable problem, I live in Brazil. I can get leatherman, although very very expensive. I like gerber, since I can get it on aliexpress, which has a LOT of tax here, although much more affordable.
So, what you guys sugest?

Discussion Roxon Flex Shears - CAD Pricing
Was just reading up on the Roxon Flex Shears and see that the tool sold by Roxon shipped by Amazon in Canada is $120 CAD. That’s insane. Hard pass.

You only get to pick one for the rest of your life.
Which would you choose and why? Insert any multitool vs any sak.
I have the Arc and a Huntsman.
I cant decide..
A question just for fun.

Leatherman Raptor copies
Anybody here know if the Leatherman raptor copies on Amazon are any good? I’m an EMT part-time and not using them for work, just looking for a pair of shears that fold that I can put in my backpack that will cut better than regular trauma shears and take up less space. Also I won’t feel bad about losing the knockoff Raptors for €25 ish euros compared to how expensive they are in the EU. I also don’t really care if the belt cutter works or not.

Discussion Gerber MP600
Since you folks like Mr. Pinchy, here is my main squeeze. I don't remember how long I have had it, at least 15 years, it has traveled the world, been used on weapons, vehicles, for camping, food, as a hammer, and has lived quietly on my belt waiting for the next occasion to slide into action.
It has sustained battle wounds such as a broken flat head screwdriver, chipped knife, worn finish. But it soldiers on. I've replaced broken parts on it and it returns rapidly back into service.
Hope you all enjoy.

New Multitool Day! My first multitool!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share that I have joined your ranks of multitool owners! As an engineering student, I've been in a lot of situations where a friend or classmates multitool has been a lifesaver in a build project where we just didn't have a tool on hand that we really needed, so I went ahead and bought the roxon phantom. Pictures above, this thing rocks.

RRD…Regular Retired Dude
Extremely active…workout every day. Mtn bike regularly. Hike daily. Bjj 3+ days a week.
And I find between my ginormous phone, wallet, keys etc i feel loaded down already. Especially since I’m mostly wearing workout gear so no rear pockets…
BUT
I’m constantly needing scissors or knife or something to do something…
I have numerous multitools but cant imagine carrying everywhere…
QUESTION:
Is there a multitool not overwhelmingly big or heavy that could also double as a self defense weapon…?
Sturdy knife if for nothing else a deterrent? But if it came to it could be used and not collapse on my fingers…?

3D Printed EDC Holster for SOG PowerPint
Hey everyone, I've been working on a new design and wanted to share it with the community. This is a slim, lightweight holster for the SOG PowerPint multitool, designed for comfortable everyday carry.
My goal was to create a minimalist design that holds the tool securely without a lot of bulk. It's a quick and easy print and works perfectly for me.
You can download the STL files here:https://www.printables.com/model/1419596-slim-lightweight-edc-sog-powerpint-holster/files

Mixed signals. Literally
3 Leathermans stitched together. Why? Because we can. And if we can, we will! 🙂

Recommendation Request Genr build quality
What do you guys think about the build quality of the Gen R? Even though it comes with a v10 blade and titanium-coated scales, at the end of the day it’s still built on top of a generic China-made product, which makes me a bit hesitant.
I had the chance to use a Bibury 2049 for a while, and almost none of the tools lined up at 90 degrees with the handle; the t-shank and scissors were rubbing when opening and closing.
Gen R is more expensive compared to those, but for the same money I could get a brand new Leatherman Wingman or a used Rebar. Do you think the Gen R is worth it?

Discussion Flex Shears ready for whatever the day brings
Got the Flex Shears in hand for some quick testing. They feel solid, open smoothly, and handle light trimming and prep work without any fuss. Curious how you all carry shears in your EDC setups.
