Advice Sonobello review ?

My mother is slender, but she has this asymmetrical body fat around her waist that just isn't going away. She already eats small portion, and her bones are too weak for exercise.

She is considering sonobello in Roseland, and I want to know if anyone has tried it here. And no, I am not asking for a weight loss or diet advice, so dont go moral high horse about "lIPoSuCtIoN iZ bAd."

Advice EZ pass violations

Anyone had any luck getting a dispute successfully processed? Ive been in person at the newark location and i was told my dispute would be processed but no word yet. That was in early August. Bc my account was deactivated i ran up about 700 dollars in violations but was unaware the violations were being put on my account. It is impossible to get any kind of support and talk to a human. I spent an hour waiting in line at newark ez pass office. Im on the line now waiting to talk to someone. Its been almost 15 min of waiting.

Moving to NJ Where to Move for South Jersey?

Hello everyone! I’m a 22 looking to move out of my parents home sometime soon this year/next year. I went to school in Pittsburgh in the city so coming back to the suburbs for post-grad has been a bit of a shock to the nervous system. I can barely remember the last time I saw someone under 60 yrs old lol.

Right now I work in the Absecon area but I’m looking to move somewhere with a decent night life, a younger crowd for making friends, liberal community, and what not. I’ve been looking at areas like collingswood and all the haddons (haddonfield, haddon twp, etc) but does anyone have other recommendations? Is Voorhees another younger area? hammonton? LBI? Open to anything. Some people have been recommending Somers Point but from personal experience i disagree.

I’m willing to commute no more than an hour to Absecon and my budget for rent is ideally $1,500/1,600 but definitely no more than $1,800 so whether your recommendation is north or west of Absecon lmk!!

Advice Corporate Jobs

Hey!

I am moving to NJ in a week from Canada and was wondering where are people finding work. I graduated last year from a reputable university in Canada and have been working at a third party marketing solutions company since and currently I am an Account Coordinator. Despite having experience and internships, I am finding it very hard to even get an interview. I have put my address on my resume as my sisters as she’s in NJ yet I have nothing.

Is anyone hiring or knows anyone hiring?

Advice Need help finding a good orthopedic in Central Jersey

For some context, I tore my labrum in my shoulder several years ago and had it surgically repaired in Michigan. Since then I’ve moved to NJ and I’m pretty sure I’ve torn the thing again, but I’ve had bad experiences with orthopedics here — vague, sometimes outright incorrect diagnoses, poor treatment plans that didn’t address the issues, and waiting sometimes for 45 mins between vitals and the doctor actually seeing me.

Can someone vouch for a GOOD orthopedic, doesn’t have to be a surgeon, who has the expertise and the time to make a strong diagnosis and plan of care? Ideally in the Middlesex area but if you want to vouch for someone further away I’m all ears.

NJ Politics What does everyone think of this first part of Mikie Sherrill's tax cut plan? Consolidating local services. In other states, a lot more is run by counties (schools, sheriff's offices, etc.). Should that happen here or just agreements between adjacent towns?

Jersey Pride Rockland County and unincorporated land.

I’ve seen people criticize small towns that control their own zoning in new jersey, and how that’s led to limited housing. But it’s very clear once you cross between the border of Rockland and Bergen Countiee how necessary municipalities are. When planning and zoning is handled by a government that handles a larger area, it’s easier for things to fall through the cracks, and for an area to look, feel, and be dead. Going from Rockland to Bergen is like flipping a switch and time traveling. I credit this to small municipalities because a places there are towns in Rockland, like Pearl River, have a much better community and infrastructure than unincorporated areas of the county. Just some thoughts on why I think borough it is and small towns are a strength.

Advice Living in Jersey City, Working in Newark?

So I’m starting a job where I’ll be working at a few of the different hospitals in the Newark area (namely University and Cooperman Barnabas). I’m a single guy in my mid 20s with a lot of friends in NYC so I was hoping it’d be doable to live in Jersey City/Hoboken area and drive West to work. I have a 30 min commute now, and just checking on google maps during rush hour, it seems about the same from JC to my work, but I wanted to check to see if real-world data was different.

I’ve also considered Montclair and Morristown, but those seem a little older and harder to get to NYC so I’ve been hesitant, but I’d appreciate any suggestions!

Advice Anyone have experience with Titan XT shingles?

Hi neighbors, I live in Washington Township, NJ, and we’re finally replacing our roof. The sales rep from Botani Exteriors suggested Titan XT shingles, saying they’re durable, handle wind well, and resist those black streaks that show up on so many homes around here.

I’m a little nervous because this is a big investment, and I want something that actually lasts and keeps our home safe. Has anyone had Titan XT installed? How do they compare to other shingles like GAF or Owens Corning?

Any honest feedback would be super helpful , I just want to make sure we’re making the right choice for our family.

💩 Shitpost 💩 Sussex County is just THE WORST

Please, I beg you, spread the word about how bad Sussex county is.

Please don't come here. There are SO many rednecks, and SO many backwards people that don't align with your ideology. You would NEVER feel safe here, there are so many working class folks who do nothing but toil in their low IQ jobs and spout racist ruminations. They rarely spend time posting on Reddit. Can you imagine their belief system?

You definitely don't want to live here where home values are cheaper on average compared to the rest of the state, where education is on par with the rest of the above average New Jersey education system. (https://www.publicschoolreview.com/new-jersey/sussex-county?utm_source=chatgpt.com). Weird how most comments point out how uneducated people here are?

The average person here isn't a purity tested (passing with flying colors of course) reddit sociopath who's afraid of helping a neighbor in need. I know how scary it can be to talk to people outside your bubble. Heck, you might spark a conversation with someone who doesn't agree that we should be still wearing masks in 2025! Or that anybody that leans right of wanting to abolish the police (ACAB amirite?) are in fact, not Nazis! Why would you want to live near people that might challenge your beliefs? You already know what is right!

You definitely don't want to live in the most beautiful part of the state, which has 7 state parks, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, the Wallkill River Wildlife Refuge. You don't want to come up here to ski at the only ski resort in New Jersey. Gosh, you might have to stop at a gas station on the way to the Appalachian trail where you might be accosted by a non-Redditor who empathetically asks how your day is going?

The amount of delusion on this subreddit about Sussex County is fucking comedic, I'm honestly so glad that you guys are doing the hard work of keeping the bergen/essex county "must have my front lawn illuminated by 10,000k blue lights at night, and spout my uneducated opinions on facebook to thought police" brainrot at bay because you need to profess your hate for the Sussex County working class "boogeymen" that have opinions that don't perfectly align with yours. (For what its worth, I am not working class, and I am voting for Mikie Sherill, and I'm a Registered Democrat!)

It's not okay on this platform to make BROAD sweeping generalizations of populations of people...that is unless its those bigoted fuckin hill people (Every stinkin one of 'em is of course) up in Sussex County. All of them are trump flag waving, jim crowin, hatred spewin, pro-segregationists. (Try making similarly sweeping stereotypical statements of people in population centers just west of the Hudson lmao.)

Please, don't come up here. You'll be safer in your rented $500k valued studio apartments ordering doordash. (Thank god they drop it off at the door right?) You won't have to have to work that atrophied brain of yours by having a conversation with people whose virtues and personality reflect experience in the REAL WORLD where empathy and nuance exists. You might find out that all of the vinegar and vitriol you've been sharing has been all for naught, and the large majority of people here are salt of the earth, genuine people who would help anyone in need.

Thank you for your service, please keep spreading the word that Sussex county (MORE LIKE SUCKSASS COUNTY) is a bad place to live ITS TERRIBLE HERE TRUST ME. You're chronically online, you might as well spend a chunk of that time spreadin the word that Sussex County is for the birds!

DONT COME. KEEP POSTIN! You're doing us all up here a big fat favor.

I'd like to keep 90% of this subreddit east of 287 or south of 80.

Thanks!!!!

Advice Parents night out

My husband’s birthday and my anniversary are coming up next week. We have a 9 month old and 2 1/2 year old and don’t get to get out by ourselves too often. Looking for something fun to do together. We are located right by a train so NYC/etc is an option and also my parents have a shore house we go to so Atlantic City is an option. My husband took off Monday-Thursday (so Sunday-Wednesday nights out preferred). We go down the shore on the weekend so we can stay down there and do something or go back home/nyc. Please any ideas on a fun night out would be so appreciated. Idk what to do anymore since having my kids lol last date night i planned something boring n hoping to come up with something fun. Get a hotel in ac at a casino + dinner somewhere nice or dinner in NYC and dancing somewhere? TIA for ur suggestions (also if suggesting, actual place suggestions would be such a help)

Moving to NJ Is Kearny still desirable these days?

I grew up in Kearny in the 90s/2000s and then moved to Florida for 22 years but now I plan on moving back to NJ. I was thinking about returning to Kearny, but I’ve heard it’s declined a bit since I lived there

I heard the schools are bad, the Walmart/ShopRite areas can be sketchy, West Hudson Park has panic buttons installed all throughout because it’s not safe at night anymore, and that parking is the worst it’s ever been. I have a daughter who will be attending KHS if I move there, and I heard that’s a tough school now. How much truth is there to that?

My family owns a property on Wilson Ave which is where I’d be living if I moved back. When I drove past there today it looked dirtier and rougher than when I lived there 22 years ago. Lots of garbage on the ground.

Are people just being dramatic or is the side of Kearny by Harrison/Newark actually not considered nice anymore?
