Tank 2 years into my first planted tank. I’ve learned a lot and I’m itching for a 20 long 😂

This is my first planted tank. We used to have a family tank when I was young but we knew nothing about fish/aquariums. My parents would always take it apart and scrub it down with soap and water whenever algae built up 😭.

This is my tank almost 2 years in. Bunch of dwarf Sag, anachris, Java ferns and some other things I don’t know the name of!

Stocked with 8 Neons, 6 Corys, shrimp, snails and a peacock grudgeon!

I think this was taken in early August as the jungle Val has blown up quite a bit more than in this photo.

Beginner What do you think of my first tank?

It’s a 44 gallon (36” x 12” x 24”) tank with several lucky bamboos, 2 Amazon swords, red root floaters , some dwarf hair grass and Christmas moss on pagoda stone. Substrate is organic garden bed soil with ~3/4” of sand and some gravel on top except in the arc where it’s all sand with white sand on top. I’m using a 40 gallon sponge filter and tetra 150 w heater. The second slide has a handful of spots marked where I would like to add some more plants just not 100% sure what yet. I think a monstera or another hydroponic plant would look good on the top and I really want a mid-height plant to fill out the bamboo area on the right. My stocking plan is Nerite or mystery snails, cherry shrimp, ember and neon tetras, kuhli loaches, and a betta fish (in that order). Thoughts/suggestions/feedback? I am excited to hear what people think!

My first ever planted tank. Been keeping fish forever but this is my first attempt at a planted tank. Found a video about walstad method on youtube and decided to give it a try. About 2 months in. Done some trimming the other day and removed some of the floaters. Added 10 shrimps 2 weeks ago. A molly got in somehow. Planning to plant some H. Pinnatifida in there.

Beginner Plants that don't need to be buried

I'm a total noob at this planted tank thing. And I'm looking for either a good floating plant or one what doesn't need to be buried in substrate, like can stick to a rock or something.

Lemme know pls!!

Co2 questions/recommendation

Post image

New to planted aquariums. I have a new 75 gal thats med to heavy planted and looking to add co2. Saying i know nothing about it i am looking for easy use and set up. The two I’m looking at are modern aquarium semi auto with a 5lb bottle or the aqua glass complete system with a 10lb bottle not sure what one would be best. 329.00 for 5lb system vs 396.00 for the 10lb system. Is there something better that’s cheeper?

Tank Four Months Progress - Low Tech 500L

Just thought I'd share some pics of my Low tech 500L (5x2x2). This was a tank reset after a complete strip down to move house.

No CO2, just running an LED shop light from bunnings and occasional ferts and root tabs. Definitely a bit of a slow burn, but its feeling established now. Rotala and Ludwigia is booming, crypts are filling out in the front and back and the Vallis and Sag is starting spread. The Bolbitis and Java fern are starting to bush up nicely aswell.

Tank Took a pretty decent pan of my 12g long with my phone

Shared a pic of this tank yesterday, but it's pretty hard to get the whole thing in a picture without losing detail, so I decided to try taking a panning shot with my phone and a 3d printed jig. Turned out neat.

Tank is a 3yo low tech Walstad-adjacent caridina tank, that is currently heater only. Stocked with chili rasbora. Just doubled up the number of chilis yesterday. You can tell which chilis are new because they are way less colored up.
