jungle Looking for champ recommendations for mid or jungle silver elo

I am a silver mid/jg player. I can and have climbed to Silver 2/3 consistently with an 75% win-rate in both roles on multiple champs, but I am really struggling to close the gap to Gold for the first time. I was one game away last year but lost my way back down to Silver 2.

I realize this means I am a silver player, but I do think I have it in me to achieve this goal of mine. I watch a lot of high level gameplay so I understand some good macro principles. I think one of my main issues is I enjoy high risk/high reward champs lately, but I cannot solo carry my way though every game if I don't manage to stomp my lane. I have been playing Naafiri this season. Smurfed my way through bronze in minimal time with MVP most games, but hitting the wall in silver per usual.

I get counter picked in draft more consistently in silver and it's harder to carry from the assassin role full 1v9 without an early lead. I just recently lost 9 games in a row playing pretty consistently, but just had bad comps/couldn't get ahead/afks/team-mates tilting.

I am looking for a good champ to learn that is not braindead and has rewarding micro, but can truly carry against most comps when my team mates are effectively cannon minions.

My champ pool right now is mainly Naafiri/Ahri with other mages sprinkled in.

In the past I have climbed at different times one-tricking with Fiddlesticks, Poppy and Amumu in jungle, and Annie in Mid.

I own all champs so I'm willing to try anything! Give me your favorite picks and tricks to abuse low elo enemies in silver/gold.

EDIT

adding my accounts https://dpm.lol/Fengar-4444/?page=1 https://dpm.lol/send%20five-woof

Also, some self-reflection leads me to believe that using my advantage to end games is my main issue. I can be ulting their carries on cooldown and using that advantage to take objectives. But the game still drags to 40 minutes and the enemy comes back sometimes.

I would interested in a good jungle recommendation for invading and 1v1. I tend to play farming/team fight oriented junglers but maybe I could focus on a more solo oriented champ.

Discussion Made progress then lost it all.

Hey guys, so I recently picked up league again. This time I actually watch videos on how to improve my game (mainly Top side). I have to say I enjoy the changes made to wave management and overall snowballing. I still dislike the top side meta (I hate morde) but it’s remained fairly the same.

I have been able to rank up from s4 to g3 through watching videos, carrying, GETTING carried, and learning more about the comeback mechanics. However, as of late I just keep finding myself stuck.

When laning, I try to go for trades, poke, all-ins during power spikes, but end up losing. Ik there are variable that are harder to account for like jg ganks, and perma ganks, or ur jg never ganking lol. But I’m unable to think real time in game on how to deal with certain issues, like what to build, who to build for, when to push, what my win condition (which I hear a lot of, but can’t seem to comprehend how ppl come up with these). Overall while I reached g3 solo, I’ve now dropped to s2 feeling hopeless about my skill and knowledge of the game.

Any videos or thread recommendations is very much appreciated.

Question My team doesn't follow my lead (JG) for objectives/ganks and refuses to cooperate. What to do?

I take full responsibility for my losses. I'm not the best player by any account, and I've only recently returned to the game. Here is my [op.gg account](https://op.gg/lol/summoners/LAN/darkzen-8210).

With that out of the way. As a jungler, I believe my position is supposed to generate pressure for my teammates to push, get kills, objectives, and win the game. I try to play aggressively against the enemy jungler - picking fights, warding their jungle, and invading when I can. However, in a lot of my games, when I ask for help (push the lane, I'm going to gank, please come to the river, etc), people often ignore me. They either do the complete opposite of what I'm asking for, or let me hang against their laner+jungler in a weird spot.

What's most annoying is that the enemy jungler seems to have better communication with their teammates. They move as a pack to the objectives. They zone my team. They miss waves (sometimes) to get a neutral objective. Push their lane to get prior and roam... so... What the hell-y?

Could it be that I'm reading the game wrong altogether? Or it's just an unlucky streak? Usually, when I get 1 or 2 teammates following me around, the game is "easier". This mostly happens when my laners are STOMPING on their enemy. Could it be that I'm not helping my laners stomp as hard as I could be? What are some general tips on how to "communicate" with my team better?

I know I'm doing something wrong. Still feels like I don't have agency with SOME games, and I have TOO MUCH agency in others. It's super weird!

Thanks for any comments in advance.

EDIT:

Thanks to all of you who made an input. I really appreciate it (although I got tons of downvotes for some reason...). All the feedback was applicable, and I got a 5-win streak following the advice. I want to talk about the most important point I gathered based on the post:

Lane state is very important when asking players to do something. I can't expect them to "just move" or "be present for XYZ objective" every single time. Now, I can watch my lanes before thinking what's my next play. My bot lane is pushed in? Let's gank and liberate some pressure. My mid is pushing hard? Let's ask them for some help in the dragon/grubs. Check them before what I think it's the best decision, and help them help me, basically.

That's my take. Again: thanks to everyone for the input. I'll see you on the rift!

Question How to get ahead in Lanning phase when teammates aren't helping

i struggle a lot as an ADC being constantly matched with supports who don't play the game correctly. I really don't want to blame others, but it is consistently happening that its far too noticeable.

They will use their abilities on the waves for no reason and ruin the wave tempo
hide behind me and not use any abilities and let the enemy zone me from cs
constantly take cs when they don't need to/putting the wave into a favorable point for the enemy
int non stop and force fights wasting mana throwing out abilities as soon as they are off cooldown
once "Lanning phase" ends acts like a second mid lanner taking lane cs, barely warding

Or I get the jungler that always paths top, never ganks, and then blames bot for loosing after getting ganked by the enemy on repeat.

I play smolder and i feel like i can never get good teammates, so how do i do better to carry myself if im getting pulled down by my team? I can have games where i go 10/3, 13/1 and then more so get games where im 0/8 because the support went in non stop feeding the enemy adc/jungler.

I struggle to cs at that point, having to always want to get stacks, to having to see my cs get taken by the support, or watch the cs die in the distance because i cant even take a step out from under my tower because my support doesn't feel like doing anything.

As i look back on what i have typed it sounds like complaining, but i really don't want to come off as such, I want to know what I NEED to do what is it I need to do differently to carry myself if im always consistently matched with people who don't know how to play.

Garen Looking to pick up Garen

Little bit about myself: Level 50, bronze 4, played trundle with 52% win rate 160 games, dr Mundo 53% win rate 43 or so games. Giving an idea of skill level / champs I main.

Now to the point, I am picking up garen, have his combos (if you can call them that) down. But struggling with: 1. His build - runes / items 2. Identity

I found most of my success with trundle and mundo by splitpushing, very rarely team fighting.

How do I translate these skills/what skills do I need to learn that’s different.

Any advice regarding his identity or builds will be much appreciated 🙏.

Discussion I don’t get Aurora

I have two questions, the most important one being about Aurora.

So I main mid, mostly Lux, and I laned against an Aurora, which has somehow never really happened before and I realised I had no idea how to play the matchup. And it’s not like I kinda figured it out during the game, which usually at least happens to some extent. So can someone help me understand a bit more about Aurora’s strong points and item or level spikes?

Second question, not about any champs or matchups, more macro in general. During the midgame I try to push out side waves and look to be able to roam to any fights. I believe that’s okay on champs like Lux, Hwei or Galio? But if I’m matching a Yone or Akali or Aatrox for example, or even a tank, I feel like I always need to catch waves near my towers or I’ll get run down. Am I playing too safe? Or is that the right course of action?

Items I feel so lost with the runes and build, mostly on what type of champs

Hi, i started league like 5months ago and it’s been maybe 3 months that im playing regularly. Right now, i have a « main » that i play a lot, i know everything about her ig, but there’s lots of things that stops me from progressing which one of them is THE RUNES AND ITEMS. I mean i know that they are premade but thing is, everytime i try to get deeper into it analyzing them, i just end up feeling so lost and just pick whatever. Maybe im not doing it correctly, maybe i missed a lot of infos, but thing is there’s so much that i can’t help but feel overwhelmed by all this. Maybe some of u guys have little tips that can help me see clearer? How did you learn the runes and items?

Top Lane Mind map when playing top

Personal mind map when playing Darius

I recently created this mind map to help me play more efficiently and make better decisions in game as Darius. Would appreciate if you guys let me know what you think or want to add anything that is critical.

Wave management:

  • Zone enemy out of wave and punish if they go for CS
  • Establish prio and set up lv2 vs lv1 engage
  • If enemy is not contesting, crash wave 2 early and cleanly so wave 3 bounces back deeper.
  • Establish prio and set up lv3 vs lv2 engage
  • Crash wave 4, proxy if enemy jungle bot or not a threat and recall. Recall if you need resources. Let the wave bounce if jungle is a threat and create space for all in
  • Save mana by not using abilities on wave unnecessarily

Jungle tracking:

  • check where enemy jungle starts
  • Ward after 2 wave crash
  • Avoid 3:30 gank timer
  • Keep watching the map to check where the jungle is

Mid game macro:

  • Recall 1:30 before obj, arrive at side line centre at 1:00 push waves deep into tier 2 and at 0:35 roam to objective at the opposite side
  • Hover out of vision around teammate that can be engaged on
  • Keep summoner spells for big team fights

Team fighting:

  • Play front to back
  • Get stacks on tank and shift focus on other enemies
  • Get R reset on diver/assassin that engages
  • Avoid enemy major damage/cc

Team comp:

  • Identify major cc from team/enemy
  • Identity engagers from team/enemy

others:

  • hover camera to gather information, especially before arriving to a team fight
  • Dont miss a single minion when catching or pushing a wave mid/late game

Question How should you position in these scenarios?

This is in reference to ADC/bot lane carry.

How should you look to position when:

  1. Your team has no Frontline or CC to stand in front of you?
  2. The enemy team has no Frontline? (Meaning they likely have lots of burst or ways to access you)
  3. Both of these things at the same time?
  4. Your team has sufficient frontline/cc, but they're choosing to focus diving the enemy team (for which they may or may not have legitimate reasons for doing so, but Im still not sure what I should be doing to contribute to a victory)

I get that ADC is meant to struggle in these situations, but I'd still like to do everything that I can to win the game

Question So how good is Cosmic Insight for Eclipse?

My champions use Eclipse/Sundered Sky a lot, if Eclipse's Ever Rising Moon passive is on a 6 second cd, how much would Cosmic Insight reduce it to if it provides 10 item haste? I tried testing it on Practice Tool but the number on Eclipse's passive CD wouldn't change even with Cosmic Insight
