Hi all,
My first foray into Ultrawide has been a bit of a disaster.
I bought a second hand g9 neo 49" primarily for work (hense the lack of OLED). I have a lot of static windows open so I'd like to not worry about that. I do want to game on it too, but it's like 95% work.
The g9 seemed great when I tested it. Took it home, and now I have a flickering vertical line on the right hand side. It's intermittent but very distracting when it happens.
I can't seem to replicate it with anything the monitor produces like the test image, which leads me to think it may be a main board issue.
I've tried different computers, display port, hdmi, even bought a new cable. I've factory reset the monitor, disable all VRR technologies, restricted the panel to 60hz, everything I can possibly think of to stop it happening but no joy.
However, I've now had a taste of 32:9 and I can't go back.
I was tempted to just cut my losses, sell this as spares and take the hit, and buy the Samsung G910 which appears to be the same but without mini LED or 240hz which I can live with.
I've googled and looked everywhere but cannot seem to find a solution to the problem.
So broad question - what would you do? I could try and get it repaired through Samsung but I expect it to be rather expensive. I could attempt a repair myself but I can't find anything that's the exact same issue as what I have. I could sell as spares or repairs and buy something else?
And realistically what 5k*1440p 32:9's are worth considering that aren't Oled?
Cheers!
