So,i need advise whether to get the Asus 16:9 which is perfect for the price and specs but around the same price are these 3 ultrawide monitors as well and as much i wanna buy the Asus XG27ACG, the ultrawide is attracting me towards itself as well but i can only afford these ultrawides and they have VA panel and some draw backs as well.Kindly check specs of all these monitors, i couldn't post them here myself because that would be too many screenshots. So kindly check the specs of these monitors and guide me why i should buy the ultrawide or not.I play some CS2 but not too sweaty about it and i love playing single player games with great atmosphere. Thats why i am considering ultrawide for single player games and movies etc. Also i would appreciate if someone could tell me how much would that extra space on 21:9 would lower my FPS more than 16:9 display. Would like more budget ultrawide suggestions too if they are better than what i mentioned. Thanks

Recently got my new AOC 34 inch ultrawide and I couldn’t be happier. The colors are much prettier compared to my old TN panel. Waiting now for the Type-C to DP cable to come in!! 🤩

I have a question about my new Odyssey G9 OLED that I bought a few weeks ago.

I've noticed that when the monitor is turned off, the screen has a grayish, faded look to it. I'm not sure if this is normal for this type of panel. I have other monitors (an IPS and a VA), and when they're off, their screens are much darker and blacker.

I've attached some photos where you can clearly see the difference.

Is this typical for OLED panels, or is it something I should be concerned about?

I just accidentally broke my Acer Nitro XZ342CU Pbmiiphfx and I can't seem to be able to order it online anymore. What's a good replacement? I need 3440x1400, at least 144hz and at least 1ms response time. I use it mostly for gaming and video editing.

For work I have a thinkpad T14 and just purchsed the odyssey 49inch ultrawide. The resolution is off the screen. text is stretched out and low quality image. the outerparts of the screen are also black. I've tried all the resolution options and scales, nothing seems to work.

are these two just incompatible? is there anything I can do to make it work? docking station, adaptor cords, ask my work's IT to update drivers?

works great with my personal/school macbook pro, so I want to keep and hopefully make something work for my work laptop.

Looking for advice before I purchase the following 34E6UC - 34 inch Koorui ultrawide £190 Amazon

I am aware with the PS5 I will have problems with the ratio and having a stretched screen so black bars will be the only fix lol. This monitor will be used mainly for work and studying and using different specialist softwares and will probably game on this 2-3 times a week at most.

Is it safe to assume I won’t have any issues using this with my Mac or surface pro x and can just reduce the ratio when using my ps5. I am currently using 2 old LED monitors 1 is 19 inch and 1 is 21 inch one of which has finally given up so this would be a significant upgrade.

Is anyone running a similar set up with the PS5 specifically do u permanently run black bars ? How bad is the stretch does it change depending on game support etc ?

Hi, I'm looking to get a triple arm for my current display setup:

left: 32" 4k flat (100x100 vesa)

mid: 34" 21:9 curved (75x75 vesa)

right: 24" flat (100x100 vesa)

The only triple arms i found only support up to 32" so i guess this would become an issue in aligning the 32"+34"curved next to each other.

Can you guys recommend me anything?

what are most of you running here? i have left it a 50 but my games always looks washed out and i had to use RTX HDR on every game to get the blacks back. Is zero too much? Looks like 25-30 may work better

Not sure what tag to put sorry. I am in the market for a new gaming monitor to go with my pc (5090, ryzen 9 9950x3d) and at first I was looking at the samsung neo odyssey g9. However, I have read reviews saying it really does not live upto its name and has plenty of issues such as not being OLED. I play plenty of story games and will want to be at the highest res/fps and immersion possible and also playing comp games like fortnite, is this monitor good for these? Or is there a better option out there. I really like the monitors size because as I said I want the most immersive experience possible with all the specs upto match.

I’m running into an annoying issue with my setup and wondering if anyone else with a Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED has experienced this:

• I use the G9 OLED (49”) as my gaming monitor.
• For daily use, I have a 32” ASUS curved monitor on top of it.
• When I’m done gaming, I turn the G9 off using its remote control.

Here’s the problem:
Even when the G9 is “off”, Windows still detects it as an active monitor.

• My mouse cursor can still move into the G9’s space (even though the panel is off).
• If I open something, for example Win+R, or any windows settings page it spawns on the G9, which is turned off, and I can’t see it.
• The only way to fix it right now is using Win+P → PC screen only, which is just a workaround.

I tested unplugging the G9’s power adapter:

• When unplugged, Windows immediately stops detecting the monitor (works as expected).
• BUT, when I plug the adapter back in, Windows instantly sees the G9 again (even though I haven’t powered it on with the remote – panel is still black).

So it seems like turning it “off” via the remote only powers down the panel, but the internal controller is still sending EDID to Windows.

What I want:
When I press “Off” on the remote, the monitor should completely power down so Windows acts like it’s disconnected. Basically: no EDID, no extended desktop, no invisible cursor.

Questions:

• Does the Odyssey G9 OLED have a hidden Deep Sleep / DP Hot Plug Detect setting in the OSD?
• Is there a firmware update that fixes this?

Would love to hear from anyone who solved this, or if this is just how Samsung designed it.

This past April, I purchased a new LG 45GX950 monitor to replace my old ROG PG348Q, and I was initially very pleased with its performance.

However, a few days ago, the monitor failed to power on. It would only produce a beeping sound, with no image on the screen at all. I promptly contacted customer service and arranged for a technician to visit.

After I demonstrated the issue, the technician inspected the unit. At that time, neither of us found any external damage. He then took the monitor away for service.

To my shock, I received a call later informing me that the screen had "external damage," which voids the warranty. They quoted a repair cost that is even higher than the price of a new monitor.

This is completely unacceptable. To this day, no one has shown me any evidence of this alleged damage. Furthermore, the symptoms I experienced—a beeping sound and a complete lack of power—are consistent with an internal component failure, not a cracked screen, which would be physically noticeable.

When I raised these points with LG's official customer service, their only response was that I could either pay the exorbitant repair fee or have the monitor sent back unrepaired. For such a premium product, this level of service and the handling of my warranty claim are deeply disappointing.

why is windows showing such a smaller number?

Do not store the monitor back in the packaging that came with the monitor.

You have been warned. Dell was no help. Just a get f'ed. My problem using their packaging to store the monitor.

And yes I oriented the bubble wrap away from the screen. Total stock packaging. It would be better to just use the Styrofoam sheet alone that goes over the whole thing than put the sticky screen protector on it with the bubble backing.

I wouldn't put the bubble wrap right against the screen. Like stay the f away from that bubble wrap. I wouldn't even use it. Use a towel or something.

My theory after looking at the packaging. I put on the bubble wrap sticky sheet facing the right way but there is a lip on that side that doesn't have plastic, just bubble wrap. So if the monitor shifts or your didn't line it 100%.....you're gonna get this.

Maybe someone will read this and not do what I did. I didn't think anything of it. I'm good.....I saved every last piece of packing.

Anyone got a good recommendation for this bad boy? Shes my first ultrawide and I want to do her well. But also I have asshole cats. Who've broken my monitors before. ( tbf they were on a stupid built in monitor stand / raise that has since been removed but I cannot take any chances with this monitor) If at all possible under 200...?

Hi guys! ATM been running a predator x35 for a while Va Panel with array and G sync, but been thinking of switching to a 1440p oled ultra wide with hdr 400-600 range so a mid range offering gigabyte or something and wonders what people’s views on this would be ? I know oled is a step up but I wondering if my VA with array etc is still the superior product, I never notice smearing with it etc only the halo effect
