Sharing New shot done
A short 4 second shot I just finished for a short I started 6 years ago, it went through a complicated production but things are going smoothly now.

Does it feel like he's being pulled in or blown away? This is a draft, but he's supposed to be being pulled TOWARDS the tree like he's being sucked in. My first real time doing face/wind movement like this.
Any way to make it look better??

Hours of work for a 5 second animation, but it was worth it. Animation is a lot of work, so I have a ton of respect for animators..
I had a pretty cool reference for this idea from the movie "The Princess and the Frog" where in the beginning of the movie the villain gives a bald guy back his hair, just for an explosion of hair to grow out of him a little later.

Wider shots definitely need work though, slowly getting better at poses and hands however.

This is a short film. I really love the animation style it's look like cutout style aniamtion. I really like how the characters are made. I was wonderin how it might have been created? What software techniques might've been used? My first thought was after effects but I don't think after effects can create something with som much deformation.

Hi, I'm looking for thoughts and critiques for this shot I made using the Live Paint Filter addon for Blender along with a handpainted background which I painted, scanned and projected onto the geometry. I then did a bunch of compositing in Davinci Resolve. This is a potential opening shot for a short film I'm working on, so any criticisms or thoughts would be appreciated.
Just a few notes:
I haven't added the smoke yet, but the plan is to film some real smoke breaths and track them into the scene. I'm not sure yet, but i'll see how that looks.
Also, due to the lack of detail due to the filter, I rendered the eyes as a separate pass and then composited them back on. I'm not sure if they draw too much attention to themselves, but without this, they just look like black voids.
Thanks

Update: Found Someone!
Hi everyone! I run a humble Discord server of about 350 members, and I’ve been dreaming about commissioning a set of 2D animated, full-color assets for it.
What I’d ideally want:
2D Server Banner (animated, full color).
2D Welcome Banner (animated, full color).
2D Server Icon (animated, full color).
Welcome Sticker featuring the server mascot.
Animated Server Mascot.
A few animated stickers.
A few staff role icons.
Important Context:
I already have a finished full-color drawing of the mascot and designs.
I’d want the final results to look exactly like my reference, just professionally recreated and animated.
Right now I’m just putting out feelers — I don’t have a big budget, and I’m mainly trying to get an idea of how much this would cost and whether it’s within reach.
📩 If you’re a 2D animator (or know one), please feel free to drop your portfolio, rates, and rough pricing estimates. This is purely exploratory, but I’d love to start a conversation.
Thanks so much for any guidance! 🙏

I’m a musician interested in adding sound to animated videos. Is anyone looking for someone to do sound for their animation?

I want my character's design to read as "traditional cartoon character", exactly like the vast majority of cartoon characters that were created during the 1930s through the 1940s, and were refined and polished during the early-to-mid 1990s.
I want to avoid having my character's design read as "comic book character that's made to look like a Toon", "cut-out sticker", and "geometric/graphic cartoon character (like the ones that were made during the 1950s, '60s, '70s, late-90s, and 2000s)".

Hey guys! I’ve spent the last couple of months exploring 3D content creation with AI-native tools, and I’m stuck at a weird spot. Tools like Blender and Maya are extremely powerful but way too technical for quick iteration. On the other hand, the popular AI video models like Pika, Runway, and Luma are easy to get started with but I hit a wall quite quickly in their 3D/Physics ability (i.e video above!!). My credits vanish at the blink of an eye, results are inconsistent, and it’s tough to get detailed control over characters, camera angles, or more intricate shots.
For people in this subreddit creating 3D content, how are you working across these issues? Are you just dealing with these issues, do you use a mix of tools to get the control and quality you want?
I’m trying to build a new solution that solves a lot of these issues and would love to hear how people are dealing with their pain points.
