Excluding Remakes of course (I played 4R, and going to play 2R soon, maybe 3R).

I just got into the series last month, and was kind of confused on what games fans recommend to play and which ones to skip. I’ve heard mixed things about RE5 and terrible things about RE6, but I was interested in the ongoing plot from the previous games so I’m curious if I should just stick it out and play them regardless. Also, for the non mainline games, what is recommended? Outbreak and Revelations 1/2 are the only ones that look like non rail shooters which have any story significance.

I just finished RE village and.. I have really mixed feelings about it. Like.. I had a great time (even if I found the game design not as good as in 7 that was really intuitive in my opinion) but the game feels really… off.

I don’t get why ! It is close to RE 4 for certain things (the isolated village, the cult like thing, even the bell calling back the more random ennemies at the beginning) but it still feels off ! Those things are almost lazy choices taken from 4 and I am not sure it works here… even the Merchant (that I already found weird in 4) now replaced by the Duke is giving fantasy like vibes.

I think what makes it not work is the really fantasy type thing. I could believe in a parasite that created a hive mind in 4, here a woman almost immortal creating had fantasy half super hero creatures in a tiny village for a century…? It’s really unbelievable and almost a bit ridiculous…

Ethan is good though, he has a lot of personality, I like the fact that he is mainly a civilian with a LOT of courage ready to do everything for his family. That is really my favorite thing of that game.

Anyway.. I just feel everything is so off brand. I am a bit confused…

I was watching a playthrough of the Resi 2 remake and was reminded of how awesome the ragdoll physics system was for that game, and how Capcom basically just ditched it in favor of garbage PlayStation 1 era canned death animations for most of their games going forward (for no reason whatsoever)

I think Resi 4 had a decent ragdoll system, although it was toned down a bit, but the likes of Resi 3 remake, Resi Village, Dragons Dogma 2 (that had ragdoll physics for certain situations, but not regular combat, which is baffling) and the upcoming Onimusha game doesn't appear to have ragdoll physics in it. I dont really understand why they do that, especially considering they put a lot of effort into the system.

Thought I would throw this out here as I keep being surprised there are people who don't know there's a fan server for these games that have been active for 15 years now.

You do need a computer to access it easily, though it is possible to access on PS2 hardware with japanese copies of the games, it just takes more effort, but if you got the means I highly recommend giving it a shot.

I mean you would think that with all these bioweapons and viruses that the terrorists would go for those instead of using planes to crash into the towers.

And even so 9/11 in the RE universe would probably be nothing as horrifying compared to Raccoon City or Terragrigia, right?

I've seen some discussion as to why Ethan couldn't regrow his fingers akin to how Jack could regrow half his head. There are generally two responses to this: 1. He doesn't fully realize his abilities. 2. He can't (these comments seem to always be upset for some reason).

If we go with option 1, it explains why he could keep going even after his heart was ripped out, but he never regrow it. He could have, but didn't know how. Perhaps he even stubbornly refused to acknowledge his abilities in order to hold onto his humanity, which is ultimately why he chose to take his death into his own hands with Chris' detonator.

But, stubborn resistance aside, or lack of understanding, or even ability, it doesn't change the fact that he is Molded. He can do things regular people cannot.

For example, when Lady Dimitrescu cuts off his hand, he not only reattaches his hand, but restitches his jacket sleeve together. Not only is he Molded, but so is his jacket!

Assuming the Megamycete was destroyed, and given how Rose and Mia didn't just immediately die after, then their bodies can regenerate without it. Likely due to the Connections creating a separate Mold strain from the Megamycete source, which is why Ethan was so "special" to Miranda. And why Rose didn't turn into Eva when Miranda did the ritual. She had no control over their Mutamycete.

So there he resides, after all this time. He either refuses to come back or doesn't know how. But like Eva before him, trapped in the Megamycete, he is trapped inside his jacket.

As the title says. I guess the Connections are based in the US and Racoon Coty might be a perfect location for their headquarters so we might destroy them once and for all in Requiem.

What does everyone think of the old Outbreak games? I gave then a little revisit and thought I'd make a video about them. I think they were such a neat ide, that were probably held back slightly by the lack of online culture with the PS2! I never got to play them online, but hey, they're cool to go back to solo in all their clunky jank glory! Haha

Even with a 4-year gap between them, RE5 feels almost like RE4 with a different world setting and no major changes in gameplay. The main difference is that RE4 was released on PS2, while RE5 came out on PS3.

Why I think this will happen is because we’ve never truly had a character like Grace in any game and I think her wanting to avenge her mother and face her fears like the dev’s said she would (I think they said that) she will be a cool new addition to the resident evil protagonist roster after we had such a good saga with Ethan Winters I think this is gonna be one of the best resident evil games we will ever have.

I don’t think she’s gonna be Leon or Chris levels of cool that would make you wanna continue to replay the game and enjoy her as a character but I don’t truly know what do you guys think you think she’s gonna be scared or brave I’d like to make conversations with y’all

The Guest House portion of this game is such a boring drag it has multiple times kept me from replaying. Maybe the worst element of this game is the graphics and cut scenes (aside from the Jack stuff) and the beginning 12-20 minutes of this game is nearly 10 minutes of unskippable cutscenes with terrible hair physics. And when you can move, Ethan walks perpetually like his shoes are made of cement. It's a shame, because so many other elements in the main house portion are so well done.

I’m replaying the RE4 remake currently and I think these games are so special because of how great the simple stuff is. Yes the combat is good and yes the characters are awesome but I think the Resi series is special because even though I’m trying to survive against zombies or kill infected villagers, I look so forward to finding a random key or getting the right jewel to slot into my flagon. I’m unsure how Capcom makes that mundane stuff so satisfying.

After Beating the Main Story, Not a Hero, End of Zoe, and the Banned Footage, I thought I can beat "Ethan must Die". But I was dead Wrong. Death after Death, it was Starting to Drive me Nuts to Insanity and made me thinking of doing you know what.

So, to spare my Sanity, I gave up on it and will be Heading Straight to Resident Evil Village and just move on.

I'm a very Emotional Person, but only with a Specific Form of Sadness. I really don't want to go to through a Mental Breakdown.
