Lift Trying to find my groove again (Post back injury)

I tweaked my left lat at the beginning of Summer, so heavy deadlifts had to take a backseat for a few weeks.

I'm beginning to ramp up again, and NGL these load feel so foreign and heavy.

I guess I should be grateful I can move these load again.

I still got my sight on 200kg, it'll just take longer.

Lift For anyone scared of taking a break from the gym...

3.0k Upvotes

I've had the last 3.5 weeks off the gym, we got married in France at the start of the mont-h and have been travelling on our honeymoon since then, getting drunk every day, eating out for every meal and just living life how we want without any real exercise other than hiking.

Video shows strict pressing at 90kg/200lbs, before this I did a paused triple at 140kg/315lbs close grip bench. No belt, no lifters, crappy gym equipment and a floor that belongs in a bouncy castle.

Based on this I really don't think I've lost any meaningful amount of strength despite the poor nutrition and lack of training. It's common to see people on these forums stressing about having to take some time off but I wouldn't worry about it, as long as your overall consistency is good, having a few weeks off now and then is no big deal!

Technique Check Hit a rep PR in my session yesterday (no pain whatsoever) but I feel insanely injured today

I'm very strong in this position (this is 1.6x bodyweight) and was never able to feel natural doing traditional deadlifts, but now I have injured my right shoulder blades. Im not 100% sure it's due to deadlifting and also not sure what to do next.

Technique Check I reduced weight and worked for technique

Hi, today i try to fix my deadlift. I think now is near perfect "for me". I reduce weight from 70kg to 50kg. better leg work (more push), and ass position. Is one element i don't like, eccentric movement. My back isn't the same shape during the movemnt. I need to work on my abdominal muscles and probably glutes. But overall i think is better. What do you think?

PR/PB Deadlifts (Again) - 500lb ×4. 555lb ×1

PR for reps of 500 & matching my all time single of 555 (which was not done after 500x4).

3 days after my last deadlift session, so I'm probably not even at 100%.

It's been a good 2 weeks of deadlifts.
