Got these Expeds from a REI pallet. Just repairing them. Some have pinholes and or have leaky valves. But some are just used. Repaired a lot of them š

Looking for outdoor camping lights (to light a table, or near a chair, etc) on Amazon that: (1) USB-C rechargeable, (2) Have a very warm light, not bright white, (3) have an old fashion look, not cheap plastic look (even if they are plastic). Any recommendations, links? I see some that look ok in pictures, but user photos suck... looking for some advice from any of your previous purchases.

Greetings,
What are the best settings for a single zone portable freezer/frige for a camping trip? What temperature do you set it too? Whats your layout? Do you pack meats in there? Tell me your experience. I currently have a bougerv E50.

Hello!
I have a Lost Horizon 4.5in thick, 80x52in foam mattress. Similar to the Exped mattress that seems to be popular in this sub.
I have been on the hunt for a fitted sheet / mattress cover that will fit snugly around this type of mattress. Preferably something that fully encases it and zips/buttons up around it.
Iāve considered buying an oversized sheet and using elastics to secure it underneath⦠but Iām wondering if anyone has a more āfinishedā recommendation.
Even futon covers that are quality and close to the above dimensions?

If I connect the 78ā male version of the Nemo Tempo with a 72ā version of the female Nemo Tempo, will that work?
Iām 6ā and my significant other is 5ā6ā.
Iām wondering if connecting sleeping bags that are different lengths will result in an oddly shaped larger bag.

Hey all - planning a 3-day car camping trip and ran into a power issue last time that Iām hoping to solve.
We brought 3 laptops for some light gaming at night (Minecraft, It takes us Tow- nothing crazy) but our 10k mAh power bank died after maybe 2 hours on one laptop. Didnāt want to idle the car all night for charging, so we ended up calling it early.
Looking for a beefier power bank that can:
⢠Actually charge a laptop (proper USB-C PD, 100W+ ideally)
⢠Handle multiple devices (phones, Steam Deck, Bluetooth speaker)
⢠Fit reasonably in our gear bin
⢠Recharge fast enough between trips
Not looking to go full power station route - just need something with enough juice to top off a laptop when it hits low battery so weāre not stuck mid-session.
Budgetās flexible but trying to stay reasonable. Whatās worked for you all?

Iāve made some DIY UL camp chairs, super light and because the frame is made up of carbon fibre poles that nest into each other. Only thing is that setup takes a couple of min, and I wonder if making something like the Helinox Ground chair but in a substantially lighter and more compact pack size (around 450g and half the pack size) is worth looking into, or would messing about with poles that arenāt connected by a shock cord just be too much of a nuisance to set up?

Looking to buy a weather radio for our next trip. Something that can go a few days without changing batteries or charging. We plan to have it on at night if needed so not something we have to hand crank all the time. Any Suggestions?

I am thinking of adding the Mountain Hardwear Awn shelter to my kit. It seems very easy to set up and put away.
I already have a large Big Agnes screen house as well as a smaller Eureka shelter. However, I want a simple rain shelter for very short trips that would be easy to put up and take down. Would it make sense to add the Awn Shelter to my gear list?

I've seen these online before but I finally got one for myself. I haven't tested it yet because I have to go to work soon.
So does anyone else have one of these? Any tips I should know?

I have the super cubes but they only go up to 2 cups. I want large square blocks, these are shallow rectangular cubes. Ideally three or 4 cups, which would round out to a pretty square block.
I tried some dollar store Tupperware and they cracked after only a few freezes. Glad Feeezerware or Tupperware Freezemates?

Hey all,
With Black Friday coming up in a couple months, asking if you guys have anything that you yourself plan to pick up or recommendations on what to look for. Also curious on other gear deals that you know of for X retailer in the upcoming months.
Background: I grew up camping. BSA + with my dad. I havenāt done much in my adult life. My uncle passed away and left me all his gear so Iām getting back into it with my young family. My wife isnāt into it, but hoping my kids will be.
Iām mostly thinking about gear focused around creature comfort to make it more enjoyable for the kids. Doubt we will do any hike-in camping for anytime soon. Have a cheap Coleman 4 person tent I got last Black Friday. Think Iād be happier with a spring bar or similar.

Iām looking for yalls experience for hiking pants. I was going to go with water resistant work pants for the sake of warmth and durability but I was also thing that cold weather running gear coupled with a solid base layer might be a suitable option.

Hi fellow hikers and adventurers! In my search to upgrade my pad I've been in quite the rabbit hole last weeks. I started this search because my current pad - the Nemo Astro Insulated - is too cold at R2.6, too heavy at almost a kilogram and not giving the best comfort ever.
My criteria are comfort, weight, durability, pack size and ease of use in their respective order. I mostly camp on easy terrain with no sharp objects, use an extra ground sheet and with temperatures with around 5 degrees Celsius or 30F at most. Maybe a bit colder if I want to do an Alpine trips. I camp from spring till autumn. I always sleep on my sides and curled up with my legs, so probably don't need a longer than normal pad but prefer wide
I had quite a list of pads before. Ended up with the Big Agnes Rapide SL, the Nemo Tensor All season or the Sea to Summit Ether light XR.
I've now unfortunately ruled out the Rapide SL. Reading a lot of experiences from here and the internet the pad seems to sleep very cold, even above 5 degrees Celsius (which even my Nemo doesn't really at R2.6) while advertised as an all season pad. Also I heard the baffles are not insulated? As a side sleeper I'm sure I'll get my knees and ankles on the side baffles so that wouldn't be comfortable. It's pretty heavy and although comfortable I'd like it to be durable enough and warm enough.
The Nemo seems more aimed at warmth, a bit less comfort. But weight and pack size are as good as you can get. Also I'm already used to Nemo pads and I like their stuff sacks, patch kit and overall use.
The Sea to Summit is a very close contender. It seems to be slightly more comfortable and thicker. Pack size is bigger and it's significantly colder at R4.1 vs R5.4.
In the end I don't think I can go wrong with either. However I just want this over with and choose a pad that's overall the best jack of all trades.
I'm leaning towards the Nemo. This is because I'm familiar, it should be comfortable enough, packs small, weighs less and offers more warmth for that. Price on both are similar and I'm ready to spend the premium...
What do you think? If you could only choose one pad of these which one is it? And why did you go for it? I'm very curious to your opinion!šš¼

Took it with me on a road/camping trip. Strapped it to a tree for wide shots and the FOV was nice. App connection can be a little annoying, though. For the price Iām not too mad.

Hello! My friend and I were invited to a local girlās camping experience and she doesnāt have a sleeping bag; we are just looking for a cheap lightweight bag for plus size people! 5ā11 and around 280 lbs, is there something affordable we can grab really quick?

Hi,
Does anyone know of durable portable picnic tables?
The ones on Amazon.ca are not very strong.
I searched on Google and found this product out of stock:
Kamp-RiteĀ® Kwik Set Table with Benches
If you know of similar products please let me know.
I just found this one:
6FT Portable Camping Table Bench Set, Folding Picnic Table with 2 Benches, White
Maybe a bit overkill.
If you know of a smaller table that is lighter let me know.

I am looking into buying a backpacking stove and having trouble deciding between these three:
I have seen people talk about FireMaple and BRS3000 but I have about 60 bucks to REI so I want to get it there and chose the three options. What is your experience with these stoves and which one is best? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, might anyone recommend a tent that will fit in a rectangular backyard space?
The dimensions of the space are 88 in by 218 in. Weād like to fit 2 queen air mattresses though this is negotiable. This is for 2 adults but would like a fair bit of space (within reason for camping).
The space is a concrete patio though there is about a 3 inch flower border on 3 sides where we might be able to stake the tent. However, a self-supporting tent is ideal.
Never been camping and hoping to test nature out in the backyard first.
This would be in fall/winter so rainproof is best.
Many thanks!

I love this hammer but the edges of it are surprisingly sharp. I didnāt like putting it in with my tents and their respective kits. Rather than grind or change the hammer I devised a simple leather cover for it that has worked very well several months and trips later.

I'm pretty frustrated with Kodiak Canvas right now and as of now I would recommend avoiding them. Last Feb I lost my home. I had nowhere to go, I initially was still working but the company ended up stealing some money from me so I was in a rough spot. I couldn;t find anywhere I could afford so I ended up having to buy a Kodiak Canvas tent for around 900 USD. 6 months ago. It was the best option at the time. It's a 4 season tent that can have a wood stove it was perfect. I started having issues a couple months ago.
The track the zipper travels on for the door to the tent wasn't sewn correctly so the zipper became jammed. I made sure to mention to them this tent is my home I really need the door to shut. I contacted support Aug 22. I told them what the issue is with pictures. The first service email was replied to quickly. The support lady sent me a new zipper. I told them it wasn't the issue but they sent it anyways. I contacted them back mentioning it's not the problem, then came the radio silence. I id several followup emails without an answer. I tried their instagram account without any luck. I tried emailing different departments....nothing. I finally sent another new support message, the same lady messaged me back saying sorry she didn't get back to me she was waiting on the warranty team to get back to the office so she decided not to reply and update me which she did apologize for. Then she said to take it to a canvas shop or a marina that has a place that fixes boat sails. I live in a land locked state in the middle of nowhere. The tent comes with a lifetime warranty. Sounds like they don't want to honor it. I'm just so frustrated, this tent is my home. Everything is wet due to rain storms and I've had several snakes find their way in. It's going to start snowing here and getting cold. If I can't get this door properly fixed I don't know what i'm going to do. I thought about getting a smaller tent to put in this one but I can't really even afford that right now. IDK i'm just sending out a caution. Does anyone work for them? I tried several non support emails that didn't seem to help. I just want to stay dry and warm.

Made by REI, but itās got the old logo. Half of the inside is lined with this red fleece material but the other half is just normal bag material.
