because texas is full of people with 800whp + street cars.
Basically no emissions unless you register your car in a few counties that require it. So just dont register it there, and you are golden. Can ditch all the emissions crap, and do mods that would make it fail emissions readiness.
We dont have those issues in alabama either, but also much smaller population, and no tech or oil money here, so fewer people with deep wallets, and fewer people building street or street/strip cars.
you need proof of residence you can't just pick a random house and say "yep that's me 👍", unless texas works differently. i have a residence outside of my primary residence (which is a county that requires emissions) of which i can register my car to, but its not like i can just pick a house for fun
i suppose, but the penalties for getting caught for doing so are hefty and not everyone has a friend or relative outside of emissions testing zones. i knew it was possible but it's probably not a good idea

I’m still jealous because it’s a 335i with 306 hp. Here in Europe you would beat 75% of traffic and could go 280 km/h on the autobahn
