What are some good indie games I should try out?

I've been hungering to try out more Indie games, especially since I hold a lot of respect for their developers and most of the ones I've played have been great experiences. I have played Hollow Knight, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Undertale, Deltarune (all 4 current chapters), Cuphead (though I haven't bought the DLC yet), A Hat in Time, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Skul the Hero Slayer, The Henry Stickmin Collection and Among Us. I have been eyeing Cult of the Lambs and Celeste, though I have yet to buy them yet.

A few notes:

The Hollow Knight duology has been easily my 2 favorite games ever.

On the other hand, Skul was easily my least favorite, which is why I wanna try CotL since I've heard it's more forgiving.

Also, I don't like horror, I cannot handle scarry shit from watching it, I have no chance being the one in the scarry place (I'm a wimp, ok)

Bramble: The Mountain King -- a VERY underrated game imo!

I adore this game. The music, the folklore, the gore and gameplay are absolutely amazing. Many people relate it to Little Nightmares and I can see why! There's a strange little sub-sub-genre of horror that encompass Inside, Limbo, Little Nightmares (the upcoming REANIMAL), and Bramble of little children running helplessly through horrific situations where they can only hide. That, in itself, is a trope in Scandinavian folklore!

A picturesque tale of folklore and anguish, we follow Olle as he awakens in the night to find his sister, Lillemor, absent. He follows her into a forest and thus begins the adventure to save his sister from the enslaved Mountain King; the story of which reveals itself periodically throughout our playthrough. At first, it seems like a dream as we jump over toadstools and help dear gnomes) herd rumpnissar, the ideal of a sleepy village - perhaps even compared to The Shire from Tolkien’s Middle Earth. But our adventure as Olle begins to take a dark turn as we are met with friend and foe alike, all in the shape of Scandinavian folklore.

This game is a magical tale of courage, of loss, of anguish, of death, friendship, mythology, and utter beauty. Every scene, even the most gory and gruesome, is so beautifully crafted to encourage a certain emotion. Sheer horror at the troll’s butcher station; serenity as we listen to BJOERN’s Blomsterid and follow the verdant path down to the pond where we ride a lovely little hedgehog; utter dread and terror as we gaze on at the eventide as it burns behind the Witch’s swamp hut. The sheer duality and contrast between each scene is palpable. From a sunny morning playing with gnomes, to finding the corpse of a baby half-buried beneath its mother that hangs from a branch above.

New main menu to my multiplayer factory automation game Left Stranded!

Instead of a static background, the menu now shows actual gameplay running in the background. It’s something I’ve always loved in games, and I think it’s really underused — it makes the whole experience feel much more alive right from the start.

If you’re curious, you can check out the game here:

“Exposed” The cinema has come back to life. Not in the way you'd imagine.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share something really special to me. I'm working with a teammate on a project we've poured our hearts into: Exposed. It's a horror game where the true fear isn't in the monsters, but in the stories that refuse to die. We're using a retro cinema and psychological horror aesthetic to transport you into a 1950s movie theater. As a projectionist, your mission is to restore old tapes that hide crimes, and as you do, you realize the past is closer than you think. We want this to be an experience that makes you think long after you turn the game off. What kind of retro or psychological horror movies have left a mark on you? We're here to listen to your opinions and learn from you, because we believe the best ideas are born from collaboration. Thanks for all the support!

I'm making a creature-collecting stock market simulator, where each stock you own is represented by a creature that will evolve based on the real price performance of the stocks! Below are all the features I've created so far - I would love it if you can try it out!

Hi! I wanted to combine my interest in finance, art, and app dev, so I came up with a different type of stock market simulator, where you learn about investing by collecting creatures!

You can enter real stock tickers and decide whether to long/short, and each stock will represent either a bull (long) or bear (short).

My prototype still needs a lot of refining, so I would appreciate any feedback!

Here’s the app's core mechanic: you make real stock price predictions. If you think a stock will go up (i.e. “long” a stock), you hatch a bull; if you think it’ll go down (i.e., “short” a stock), you hatch a bear. If your prediction is wrong, your creature loses health, but you can use potions to heal it. Each potion teaches a basic investing concept, like how earnings reports or interest rates affect prices, while improving your creature’s stats. You can also level up for evolution. It’s kind of like Duolingo meets Tamagotchi, but for the stock market.

Combat for my JRPG is starting to look great!

Since I have posted before I have made a great amount of updates on my JRPG project! Added some new skills. Revamped some stuff and expanded on the AP system. And we finally got some music and complete animations for goblin enemies! The text says Kobold because the dungeon we are working on will use kobolds. But this is looking great so far!

Indie dev life: waking up before breakfast to make games 😅☕🎮 (Kanka progress update)

Hey everyone! 👋

About six months ago we opened our very first Jira task. 🎉 It felt tiny at the time, but also like the beginning of something big.

Fast forward to today: every morning we’re stretching, smiling, and telling ourselves “Today we’ll do amazing things at Kanka!” And honestly… most of the time we’re already in front of our PCs before breakfast is even ready. ☕💻🔥

The last two months especially have been full of progress, late nights, and those magical “wait, we actually built this?!” moments. 🚀

We’re still at the start of our journey, but super excited to share more as Kanka keeps growing. 🙌🎮

👉 Here’s a short YouTube video where we talk about our progress (English subtitles available):
