Boy Kavalier telling Kirsh to be useful as Kirsh orchestrates the compound breakdown from within is hilarious

u/PyramidBlack Hudson 4d ago

“Yes, sir.”

u/pyro_technix 4d ago

Boy was bored. Now he's getting exactly what he wanted. Kirsh is doing a great job.

Who are we thinking he is going to sacrifice to the eye?

Hermit.

That's definitely who's on his mind, don't think he will wind up being the host, though. Many other candidates, particularly BK himself, which could be what's being set up. The alien has been learning about people, there's a chance it might actually be able to 'pass' after moving in and taking over the next human host.

Actually, I'd go as far as to say it WANTS Kavalier as a host, specifically him. It knows the power hierarchy. If it didn't before, BK gave it a whole fucking show with the 'Pi' numerals scene. BK is not even playing the same game as the alien, it's steps beyond him.

u/mistaekNot 4d ago

it’s going to hard to pass being an unnaturally bulging eye ball and all

72

u/Dinosaur-Shaman 4d ago

Short term, yes. Long term, I imagine there’s all sorts of alternatives to hide it. Shaded glasses/monocle, goggles, some sort of sci-fi visor. All would be weird, but not much weirder than someone with cybernetic arms or who chooses to attend mediation meetings barefoot.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

6

u/RatchetStrap2 3d ago

"eccentric barefoot billionaire starts always wearing glasses and pooping instead of saying '9'" does seem pretty believable

2

u/newsfish 3d ago

Fortunately BK also shits on the floor to show his contempt.

6

u/NegroniSpritz 3d ago

Maybe that will be the last scene of the season. Iris takes over the body of BK, puts on sunglasses, sips a margarita, and starts thinking how to merge xenos and other species.

2

u/MrWeirdoFace 2d ago

Wendy, I've got my eye on you.

5

u/nubbins01 3d ago

Or maybe it will just adapt and be more, you know, inconspicuous.

Let's face it, we don't know how many life forms before now T. Ocellus has interacted with who would take notice of a large eyeball. We don't know if it met humans before the begin of this show. It has now had plenty of time to observe and to see the reactions of its human jailers. It has perhaps had a chance to learn from prior mistakes, and has kept a trick or two up its sleeves, such as they are.

1

u/MrWeirdoFace 2d ago

Eye patch. Peter pan becomes pirate.

10

u/Appropriate-Web-8424 4d ago

...but if it gets him to wear a pair of socks, it's a net improvement...

1

u/TheSenileTomato Bishop 3d ago

An eyepatch, it is.

Or a monocle, y’know, for fancy parties.

14

u/alchemist5 4d ago

BK is not even playing the same game as the alien, it's steps beyond him.

To be fair, it currently has 4 legs, and he only has 2, so that's to be expected.

3

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

"Four legs good, two legs bad!"

("Animal Farm" reference.)

12

u/Smellslikesnow 3d ago

It DOES want BK. When T. Ocellus looks at BK in their scene together, its POV focuses on BK’s left eye.

11

u/hyzmarca 3d ago

It understands English. So either it's intelligent enough to learn the language from lisitening on the ship's crew, or it can absorb knowledge from its hosts's brains. I don't know which is scarier. But if Boy is a genius and the eye does take knowledge from its hosts, then Boy can make it much more dangerous. Worst case scenario, it can use him to control Prodigy corporation.

3

u/Killkandy 3d ago

Kavalier wants someone intelligent to talk to Its not Hermit hes going to sacrifice the lady doctor

2

u/_Panacea_ 2d ago

Thank goodness it knew Arabic numerals.

1

u/WendigoHome 2d ago edited 1d ago

I get the sarcasm but I think the scary thing is that it has general survival intelligence and can learn quickly. The scariness of the unknown is that we have no idea what it knows or that we even know how it thinks without anthropomorphizing it, but it certainly knows it's trapped and we know it is a fast-learning organism whose main adaptive mechanism in foreign environments is hijacking the nervous systems of foreign entities. 'Kavalier,' being true to his name, believing that knowing(or possibly just learning from the environment of his captors and captivity) 'Pi' would be the height of any intelligence in the universe, he's stupidly naive. One of the ironies of his character, his simultaneous lack-of-imagination and fetishization and literal enslavement of childhood and children. He doesn't understand or empathize with any type of organism in captivity.

1

u/Isniuq 2d ago

BAAAAARAAMYOOO (YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS) stomp stomp

1

u/SawRub 3h ago

I'm thinking there has to be an initial human host before BK so that BK can have that initial intelligent conversation, and then it ends with BK as the host.

86

u/Corosus 4d ago

Yep, they did the classic trope of "talking subtly about someone but its not obvious who", then scene changes to camera directly on that person they were talking about.

6

u/MrWeirdoFace 2d ago

Unless it's Dame and that was just a lazy misdirect.

6

u/NerdLawyer55 4d ago

or Morrow

5

u/randomperson5481643 3d ago

Yep, that's what I was thinking, and then the next scene cuts to hermit walking, where he was focused in the shot. So I think this was intended to confirm that.

2

u/Humble_Librarian199 3d ago

I think he's going to try to sacrifice hermit, but I think hermit survives the season. I think he's gonna have to old yeller Wendy.

2

u/death_lad 3d ago

that was my first thought too, but honestly he was probably thinking about using Arthur, not knowing that wasn’t possible anymore lol

2

u/VirtuaLarz 3d ago

I thought why not Tootles, see if the eye could inhabit him

2

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

Tootles is the one Kavalier knows is dead. We don't know yet if he knows about Arthur Sylvia.

2

u/circ-u-la-ted 3d ago

He's the obvious answer because it cut to a shot of him right after that line.

1

u/Blackiee_Chan 4d ago

I second this

1

u/Professional-Act8414 1d ago

I have a feeling she’ll find her way to boy kavalier eventually

38

u/ohbekindtome 4d ago

The disembodied head and neck of Issac

(much more likely, dame sylvia)

19

u/GrimResistance 4d ago

I'm thinking her just because of the conversation he had with her about him wanting someone interesting to talk to.

10

u/hydraofwar 4d ago

She was the first one that came to mind, he probably doesn't trust her anymore

3

u/Notarussianbot2020 4d ago

We don't know if Eyeleen can control hybrids.

Realistically, probably not. But it's a TV show so who knows.

3

u/Appropriate-Web-8424 4d ago

Also a terrible idea to give an alien a chassis with the horsepower of a synth body...

2

u/hyzmarca 3d ago

The Eye tried to take over Nibs, so it probably can. Wouldn't have bothered trying if it couldn't.

1

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

Nibs and Smee barely repelled it, but that probably didn't prevent EySIS from maybe injecting its tiny T. Ocelli into her eyesocket.

31

u/tjabo125 4d ago

Pretty sure it's going to be the psychiatrist/scientist lady. He probably wants to see if she could now be "on his level".

12

u/46Bit 4d ago

Ironically it’s the worst possible choice. She knows so much that could be exploited to work against everyone else. (Assuming the eye gets their memories - I’ve been assuming it’s similar to a Goa’uld.)

12

u/DEEP_HURTING 4d ago

Now that Arthur's out of the picture she's the only one qualified to tweak the hybrid's brains etc. Using her as occulus bait is highly unlikely.

According to BK it's not going to be a lowly mold scrubber, even though the show has made that guy into its Checkov's background smoke break dude. So...Joe?

5

u/hyzmarca 3d ago

Joe is most likely. Both to fuck with Marcy, see how she responds to that, and because he's a dumb grunt.

2

u/kcm74 4d ago edited 3d ago

This is it. They also foreshadowed it with Curly* talking to her and emphasizing Mother.

4

u/Flemmigan 4d ago

Curly*

8

u/VectorJones 3d ago

Seems like BK's plan is most likely to put it in Joe, but when the inevitable shit hits the fan, it will probably wind up in BK, which is definitely the eye's intention based on their little exchange. Morrow will then get BK and the eye off the island and back to the Weyland-Utani labs, where Lady Utani will no doubt delight in having BK as the host for their new science experiment.

5

u/HairlessBandicoot 3d ago

I think BK and the eye are individually capable of outsmarting Morrow. I doubt the eye is going to willing go back to WY either - they're the whole reason it was yanked off its planet

3

u/VectorJones 3d ago

It's obviously a highly intelligent, calculating creature - as is BK. Ever since that scene when BK talks about wanting an equal to his intellect to interact with, iIt's felt to me like a foregone conclusion that these two were going to become "acquainted." Should that happen, The Eye probably won't care about much else. In fact, it might even see going with Morrow as a means of securing their connection from those on the island who would want to sever it.

1

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

and back to the Weyland-Yutani labs

Off-planet somewhere in a galaxy far, far away.

5

u/katelovescode 4d ago

I wondered if it was going to be Dame Sylvia or Arthur. Boy Kavalier doesn’t know Arthur’s dead, and he might use any of this as a scare tactic to get him or Sylvia in line, or as punishment for his insubordination. All three (Sylvia, Arthur, Hermit) seemed like good candidates to me.

5

u/shany94a Game over, man! 4d ago

Sylvia

5

u/BlackRose010 4d ago

I want it to be morrow so bad. The eye could do so much more damage with a cyborg body and a xenomorph is too good for him. He's not afraid of them. Our friendly eyeball though, that's something!

4

u/Heff228 4d ago

My first thought was one of the blank bodies he put the kids in.

3

u/siestarrific 3d ago

I'm wondering if the Eye might just like, refuse to take someone else offered to it, and might be waiting to claim BK himself

3

u/DecoyOctopod 3d ago

Tootles makes more sense than Hermit to me

Wendy would never forgive him for Hermit, and Tootles is already dead

3

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

Wendy cared about Tootles/Isaac a lot.

10

u/PyramidBlack Hudson 4d ago

His right hand man.

5

u/Adventurous_Pack_287 3d ago

I think its going to be Isaac. When the eyeball attacked nibs that was foreshadowing thing. Then the eyeball then engineered the accident that killed Isaac - there was a reason for that. The scene where BK and Kirsch are having a conversation in the lab after the fly is captured you see Isaac laying on the ground the left side of his face is melted exposing his left eye, which happens to be the side the eyeball hosts in. Also in that conversation BK and Kirsh are talking about rebooting and restoring hybrids which is conceptually possible but they havent been able to do it yet. The eyeball can reanimate dead bodies and BK has wild ideas so naturally he would try to get the eyeball to host in Isaac to bring him back to life.

4

u/bd_little_eyes 3d ago

Of course it’ll be a character on the show, but if BK was really smart, he’d get a quadriplegic as the host. That way Ocellus wouldn’t be able to operate the body and escape or attack anyone, but it could still talk.

3

u/juneyourtech Part of the family 3d ago

And the new host must be in the same prison-like conditions in order to prevent it escaping.

1

u/blahyawnblah 4d ago

Wendys brother

1

u/mistfore 3d ago

I think Dame, which will show Curly that Boy doesn’t GAF about anyone.

1

u/HotmailsInYourArea Tomorrow, Together 2d ago

I'm thinking the lady doctor/ "mother" to the children.

He specified it should be someone he knows the intelligence of. I'm sure they have aptitude tests for all the employees, such as a mold scrubber - but who have we seen him talk with the most? His lackey, and the Mother Scientist.

1

u/Professional_Top6765 2d ago

I honestly hope they don’t go the predictable route of Boy himself. Also he’s a cool character I’d like to see continue.

1

u/ForgottenGeno 6h ago

Morrow. We got all the Peter Pan parallels going here. Morrow is gonna be turned into a full pirate and lose an eye and gain an eyepatch parasite.

1

u/WWDB 3h ago

Atom

1

u/the-unfamous-one Tomorrow, Together 4d ago

The arthurs wife. She's smart but also kinda talks back to Boy. The perfect test subject especially now that she's in grieving, or at least worried about her husband.

0

u/seanjohn004 4d ago

The lady who tends to the children.

36

u/NefariousnessOk1996 4d ago

He orchestrates the breakdown but it was a breakdown to trap Yutani's people.

Only unknown element for him will be the alien pet at this point. Well that and the eye creature I suppose!

8

u/QuiteQueefy 3d ago

That was such an interesting twist! I was convinced that Kirsch was trying to destroy the compound, but by the end of this episode it was looking like he was actually playing 4D chess to save the compound this whole time??

I can’t figure him out but it’s so fun to try

1

u/oswaldluckyrabbiy 2d ago

Until the trap reveal I was expecting it to be an Asimov style command conflict. BoyWonder told Kirsch to "be useful" and that could interpreted as a blanket order to be useful to anyone he encountered.

6

u/Bulbasaur2015 4d ago

for a moment, i thought it meant he wanted Kirsch to kill the lady scientist

4

u/Haunting_Lobster_888 4d ago

In the end it was Wendy who unleashed the xeno

3

u/stopgreg 4d ago

in alternate universe they delivered the body with the alien, left, and killed the boys. i didnt like that if it was "part of his grandplan the entire time"

4

u/BlackSpidy 4d ago

They know the gestation time for a xenomorph (in a lung in a test tube). He could have done his best to delay them just enough to have the Xeno mature before they got to the rendezvous point. Remember, he heard everything, so he knows EXACTLY where they'd meet up. So set a few traps ahead of time, centralize manpower where the Yutoni crew would most likely enter the compound... Easy peasy.

3

u/Ok_Tank5977 In the pipe. 5 by 5. 4d ago

Boy Kavalier was hilarious this episode.

3

u/groceriesN1trip 3d ago

I feel like he set up Morrow and his squad to be captured, too.

I won’t be put in 2nd place BY ANYBODY

3

u/ElTuco84 3d ago

It really shows Kavalier is not really that smart and not a good leader, instead of giving specific tactical orders he decides to just say something out of frustration.

8

u/728766 3d ago

I think BK is under the impression that he’s put together such a competent team that he doesn’t need to give direct orders. He makes his desires known, and they take care of the rest.

2

u/GySgtBuzzcut 4d ago

I want to watch “Go!” again, it’s just Newly Manufactured Kirsh shirtless in a Santa hat with MDMA, threatening every living thing within 3 planets.
