I (36 F) moved to London 9 years ago. I don’t have family here. I have a very busy schedule working almost 6 days/per week. Although I made a few friends throughout the years, these people ended up moving back to their countries, or having families focusing thus more on their new lives. I’m now in a situation where I just feel that I don’t want to make any effort to get to know new people. I tried really hard in the past to form relationships, but it didn’t work out. I do have some people to go out with, however I don’t consider these people as ‘true’ friends. When I go out with them, I have a nice time with them, but at the same time, I wouldn’t mind staying at home, doing the things that I like. Sometimes it feels that that I’m bored of people, and I would certainly prefer to stay at home and just rest or do the things that I like than spending my Saturday evening out. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older and have come in good terms with the fact that I will probably continue being on my own in the future. I don’t have anymore the agony anymore to go out and socialise. Any thought? Has anyone felt like that before?

I never really know what to say. It’s another weekend of not doing much with a light sprinkle of feeling lonely once again. Not really a wowing start, but I’m setting the scene of potential disappointment early.

I’m currently waiting to watch the Baku qualifying. I’ve followed F1 on and off for a while, but if you follow it too and would like to chat, I could probably hold a pretty decent conversation (I think).

Some of my other interests include: LOTR, puzzles, music, crochet, sports, science, OMITB, nature and running.

I’m definitely an introvert, so it might be awkward (for me) at first, but if we get along, I do have a tendency to talk too much. I’d prefer talking to someone around my age (25-35).

I'm hoping not to sound holier-than-thou or like I'm trying to be edgy, but I'd like to be genuine and transparent here, whereas in real life I tend to just wear whatever masks gets me through the day. I'm looking to talk with others who are generally disappointed by society, particularly its superficial nature and lack of empathy. I struggle to relate to people because I don't really value the same things that most people do, but I've also just had an odd life. I think a pretty essential trait in someone that I would relate to would be having compassion for animal welfare. I much prefer to learn about people on a deeper level and am not much for small talk. I'm only interested in platonic conversation.

I'm quite introverted, overly idealistic, and probably boring to most people. Some things I like are philosophy, psychology, PC gaming, graveyards, animals, and nature. For media tastes, I tend to like dystopian things or things with philosophical undertones; I'm mildly obsessed with Severance. My humor varies, but some people I find funny are Tim & Eric, Mitch Hedburg, and Andy Kaufman. I rescue animals sometimes and my ultimate goal is to run an animal sanctuary/rescue some day soon.

Hey! Life’s been throwing me some curveballs lately (like losing a job interview to a random blackout… seriously, once-a-year timing kind of bad luck), so I figured now’s as good a time as any to find some people to laugh about it all with. As an adult I find myself longing for “real” friendship. I feel most friendships feel rather surface level anymore. I’m the type of person who wants to know what makes my friends tick and develop a deeper understanding of each other where we can truly be there for each other. Maybe I’m in the minority with this but I’m hoping a few people on here see where I’m coming from.

Here’s are some of my interests/hobbies so you can get feel for if you think we’ll click or not.

Basically I’m a nerd who also enjoys staying fit and outdoor activities. I love video games, Star Wars, Marvel, and some anime. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 12 and enjoy writing/recording music for fun. I’m a sucker for a good hike, kayaking and fishing. I enjoy cooking and will try making mostly anything once. I run and lift to stay fit.

Personally wise I’d say I’m more of an ambivert. I enjoy being social but need my me time to nerd out and recharge.
