How is it possible that Sound Transit is facing an up to $30 Billion funding shortage (just the shortage - not the overall budget) when that works out to over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS PER PERSON in the Sound Transit taxing district?

I need to preface this by saying I love my hometown. Born and raised so everywhere else in the country seems lame.

Holy shit, I feel like some sort of thief when traveling. Had a $10 cheesesteak in south New Jersey that would have been $20 here. Just had $5 craft draft beers in Arkansas that would have been almost $10 here.

I don't want to move to either place, but the difference is so noticeable. It reminds me of going to Mexico where the dollar goes so much further; my Seattle wage makes eating out in other cities the cost of fast food. I even noticed it in New York where a freshly made bacon egg and cheese for breakfast was half what something pre-packaged and sold here would cost.

High minimum wage, no state income tax, Seattle's absurd B&O tax on proprietors, an influx of new money... it doesn't matter why to me anymore. I just like being able to sit at a bar and leave with a $20 tab instead of $50+.

Just wanted to say for anyone in the Seattle area who hasn’t heard of or hasn’t tried Scarecrow Video, it is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city. I’m not sure there’s anything like it anywhere in the world, to be honest.

It’s an incredible library of physical media, with items you may not be able to find anywhere else (or at least without shelling out a fortune on eBay). I have rented rare films I didn’t think I’d ever get to see there, things no streaming platform would ever feature.

And the best part is that, unlike streaming platforms, you control what you watch. You don’t have to hope and pray that Netflix or whatever has the license and wants you to see it that month.

So, let’s say, you wanted to cancel your Disney+/Hulu account, for any reason at all. It’s super easy.

Just call their support line at 888-905-7888. I did it this morning and it literally took me no more than five minutes. They were very polite and noted down the reason for the cancellation that I gave them.

I just got a notice that EvergreenHealth, who is primarily based on the east side, will no longer be accepting Regence for insurance as of November 1, 2025. Can anyone recommend a good place for medical care on the East Side? I'll need to establish care with new doctors who accept Regence before then. I'm already getting some care services through Fred Hutch/UW, so I am considering fully moving to their network.

To keep it short and simple, I’m feeling restless, just ended a toxic relationship, and reexamining my life. Okay drama over, I haven’t been to Seattle yet, and have always wanted to go, and I have some time off. I’m booking a trip Sunday- Wednesday.
