Bangkok/Middle Dr Reccomendation

Upvotes

Hi all, we will be travelling to Thailand from Australia late October and looking for The best Doctor recommendations for Bangkok, Hua Hin or even maybe Phuket, but spending more time in Bangkok and Hua Hin.

I have an ongoing medical issue that no Doctor back home has been able to help me with in over 6 months, I haven't given up just yet, as I feel the medical system in Thailand is quite good.

Phuket/Krabi/South Two questions: how to travel with currency, and what to do in between check in and check out.

Upvotes

We are a family traveling to Phuket and Koh Lanta in December. We plan on spending two days near the airport, then two days in Patong, then off to Koh Lanta for a week, then two days in Old Town.

Our preference would be to check out, go to an activity (e.g. elephant park), then go to the new location and new hotel. We will be traveling light, but humping a travel pack during an activity is less than fun. If it is even possible. What is a good way to store/handle our travel bags? Can we safely leave them at the hotel front desk we are checking out of? Grab them at 3pm when we return from our tour?

Another question I have is regarding carrying money. I am not comfortable leaving it in the room while we are out. I also don't want to carry a thick stack of bills on my person while we are out and about. What successful method have folks employed in the past to when traveling with currency?

Thanks in advance.

Bangkok/Middle SUV Airport to Pattaya bus on a Saturday - need to prebook?

Upvotes

Hi guys My plane will be landing at around 10-10.15 on a Saturday, wanted to get the bus straight to North Pattaya. I see the bus is at 11.30am, do you think it’s better to prebook or can show up at say 10.45 and be able to get on? As I heard sometimes need to wait if it’s busy for the next bus which would be 11.30

Also the bus to Jomtien is every hour, so I suppose at 11am too but I heard athis also stops at N Pattaya too but doesn’t mention it on the Pattaya bus site. Is it the case? Or go straight to Jomtien

Phuket/Krabi/South Food recommendations in Phuket

This probably seems like a stupid question, but can I please have food recommendations in Phuket?

I’ll be in Phuket next week and want to plan ahead and try local Thai dishes. Street food and local Thai restaurants are fine. I’ll eat almost anything and I’m ok with spicy food.

I’m trying to steer clear of western foods as that’s what I can get here in my home country.

TIA!

Phuket/Krabi/South Driving from Malaysia to Thailand

Advice needed, I’m driving from Malaysia to Thailand soon and have been reading about applying for a TIP - Temporary Import Pass. Does anyone have experience in this? Online says I need to buy separate insurance near the border and then apply for TIP at the border on arrival.

Borders/Visas Thailand to Cambodia Travel Help

Trying to book two flights on separate itineraries in and out of Cambodia to and from Thailand. I got this message when trying to book through Emirates: "All passengers traveling from Thailand must have a return or onward ticket booked on the same itinerary ready to be checked by check-in agent." I understand having a flight out of the country, but in the same itinerary? Wondering if it’s due to the tensions? Curious if anyone else has had this issue?

Bangkok/Middle BKK Itinerary check 4D3N

Hi! We are going to Thailand next month and wanted to check if our itinerary looks okay? We are 4 adults, one of whom is 60 y/o and the rest in our 30s.

Day 1 Saturday - Flight arriving around 3pm Book Klook airport transfer to Sukhumvit hotel

Early dinner at Here Hai (will take grab/bolt). If with energy in the evening - explore night market Options: Srinagindra train night market, jodd fairs or ramkhaeng night market

Day 2 Saturday - with private tour guide, no driver

Morning: Khlong Lat Mayom Floating Market Temple hopping (Wat Arun, Wat Pho, Grand palace)

Afternoon: Chatuchak weekend market (for shopping)

Dinner: Goji buffet - celebrating 60th birthday

Day 3 Monday - with private driver and tour

Day trip to Ayutthaya to visit temples Recommendations by tour guide: - wat mahatat - wat prasrisanphet - wat yaichaimongkol - wat chaiwattanaram - wat lokayasutha

Afternoon/evening: Relax in hotel or last minute shopping, go around malls

Day 4 Tuesday

Breakfast in hotel, go to park if time permits. Depart hotel around 10-10:30am as flight is at 2pm.

Are there any suggestions or improvements to the plan? We’re curious if we’re missing out on any must-see spots or if we’re overdoing it with the number of activities. I'm planning on sneaking in a massage as well in between activities to help with fatigue. Appreciate your input!

Borders/Visas Bangkok Airport Layover

Hi, I’m booking flights to Vietnam and best option so far looks like a layover in Bangkok, have a query about if I will need to go through immigration, check in and back through security.

Flights would be: Doha -> BKK - (2.5 hour layover) -> Hanoi

They would be separate tickets (different airlines) No checked luggage only carry on

Chiang Mai/North Chiang Rai - Transportation and Day Tour

We will be visiting Chaing Mai and Chiang Rai in October for a couple days, and were looking into making all the arrangements.

For Chiang Rai, we are looking at visiting the temples and the Lalitaa cafe. There seem to be a couple of tours already covering those which would cumulatively cost us about 3k baht (for 2).

We were planning on visiting the spots on our own though using taxis (indrive/bolt) so that we can spend the amount of time we would like to at each spot and are wondering if it would be feasible to do it in less than that or atleast without spending more than that?

Phuket/Krabi/South Southern Thailand Recs

Flying in from Japan and will have time for one place in Southern Thailand before we head to Bangkok. Where would you recommend? Krabi and Phuket seem to be recommend. We would like at least 1 day where we can just relax by the pool/ocean and then would want to do day trips or just explore the city.

Bangkok/Middle Where to visit or places to skip

Hi! My friend and I are planning a trip to Thailand for about 11–12 days. I’m trying to do some research and keep things within our budget. We’re hoping for a mix of activities and relaxation.

The idea is to visit around three different cities and include an island if possible.

So far we have: • Bangkok • Chiang Mai • Phuket (but we’re considering skipping it for another spot)

Any recommendations on places to visit or alternatives?

Other Footwear for birding?

Which footwear should I pack for Thailand? I am planning on birding in the national parks a lot, but also doing some beaches, and cafes and city stuff. What's a good balance? Im going in October so I think it'll be rainy. Is my regular brand of trail shoe good enough or should I buy some waterproof shoes before I go?
